Those seals are sooo cute 🦭 good to see they’ve roped off sections to give them their space and that majority of people adhere to it. The beautiful mountain ranges of Kaikoura remind me of some parts of Scotland ❤
Oh yes I can see the similarities in the mountain ranges for sure, it must be from a similar geological process raising the mountains up out of the ground and miles high. Whatever it is, you can’t deny that they are stunning!
beautiful kaikoura and you both...stay blessed ❣
❤️🙏🏼❤️ thanks Jawad 😊
Love you guys - so happy I discovered your channel. You're right, it's disappointing to see how close people are getting to seals when the signs say otherwise. I also have to say that I love your relaxed attitude to just taking things as they come - I've watched other videos where freedom campers have complained about 'too many tourists' and it does feel a bit cheeky! You guys just let it all wash over you - qudos! I think it's lovely hearing a kiwi and new arrival perspective at the same time, too. Kia kaha ❤
Aww Trudi, so kind of you. It’s lovely to hear that you enjoy our style. We do try to take it easy that’s for sure! Lovely to have you on our journey with us - even if it is only virtually ☺️
There used to be a track near that car park that went a few hundred meters into the bush. At the end of it was a waterfall and pools and the young seal pups would stay there during the day with a couple of adult seals watching them whilst the rest of the seals were out feeding all day. It was amazing to see them in the middle of the forest playing in the waterfall pools. Don't know if it's still there after the big Kaikoura earthquake of 2016 or if it was destroyed.
Hi Steve, we know about that track and we have been there years ago! I’m not sure what the status of the track is now though, google maps just says permanently closed…
Charlotte looking stunning as always ❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Ohhh you didn’t say you saw Orcas!! That’s amazing
How’s the idiots getting close to the seals forcing them into the killer whale waiting room.
It’s wild out there! And yeah I know, people were yelling at them to get back behind the fence. They did cause a few seals to bolt into the water… hope they didn’t become fish food
Promo sm
😜
Even though kaikoura is beautiful , and being born and bred here ,it is a bit of a Shit hole to live in . Supermarket is a monopoly , local companies wages are low and rent is high due to most, if not all houses being Air Bnb’s (most people that own them aren’t locals)
Very nice place to visit , terrible place to live
Everywhere worth visiting has a similar story tbh. Charlotte was brought up in Cornwall, UK which is a really popular tourist destination and the locals all pretty much say the same thing. There’s gotta be some perks to living there though, right?
