  • Since COVID-19 kept us from having our annual Spring All About Fruit Day, we decided to take you on a virtual tour of our orchard with Michael McConkey. This is a very similar tour to the one you would have experienced if you had been able to attend our festival.

Going to visit your beautiful nursery this spring. You are only three hours away from me. I really enjoy all of your videos.

Bought my first persimmon from you all back around this time. I'll be back after seeing all this abundance!

Always good to see you in these videos, Michael. You really know your tree's, brambles, herbs, and other vegetation! I learn a lot just from watching these.

Very nice tour. A garden of Eden. We have planted many of the same plants (many from your nursery) in our new SW Virginia homestead over the past 4 years, and we are starting to see the fruits of our labor! I'm surprised you don't need more protection from birds. Birds ate almost all of our goumi this year (and it was going to be a big harvest). They even eat the gooseberries as soon as they're ripe. And cherries and blueberries, of course. Any tips? Our native and grafted paw paw have no fruit this year after a couple late frosts. Our hardy kiwi got frost damaged twice and it was the first year they were blossoming! Persimmon also got frost damage twice, and lost all the first and second leaves...brutal, but they are coming back. And plum curculio found all of our apples this year, first time, I think. Aronia is looking good though. Always good to have a variety. Something will grow.
