Fiore is an holistic and integrated system, in order to understand one section you must have equal working knowledge of all sections and understand common principle and theme to unlock the systems full application. It’s also key to understand that application, with Halfswording, the critical point is to
understand that using a sword in this way is not only a choice, but a necessity borne out of situation. Basically, in armour when close, halfswording is a vital skill. It’s also just as relevant as all other system sections with sword. It’s not exclusive, but part of the overall fight.
After all, a sword is just a tool:
