Initially, I felt a little odd by the designs, but I'm coming to love them. I think Idol looks gorgeous, as I love her general cohesion with all the hearts in her design. I especially appreciate her blonde hair so her design isn't way too monochromatic. The bow-shaped bun is absolutely adorable and I like the ribbon tails at the back of her skirt to possibly allude to Wink and Kyun-Kyun. I'm also loving how her shirt is sleeveless to add unique structuring, as there are bows on her arm warmers, which look so cute to me. I'm kind of growing on the skirt, but I wish it blended a little better with her colors. However, I appreciate the designers keeping the civilian designs basic so they don't have to make the animators struggle to memorize so much detail. :) Wink looks beautiful too! I love her lavender streaks, and how elegant, serious Blue Cures could return. I'd love to see her show more bravery in her character development based on how shy she looks. I love how they emphasized her shape using the points on her top, pleats, and tie, but I do wish she had a diamond strand and some more diamonds over her design on her cape and maybe limbs to add unity to Idol (there's hearts on Idol's boots, accessory, a strand, and gloves, and ribbon tail ends). However, I do like the yellow accenting to compliment the purple accents, so the accents don't feel too little or too cool-colored of a design. I love her pleat sleeves. :) Also, her civilian design is adorable! I love it and KyunKyun's. It feels quite natural and I am glad there's no odd color choices except for the bangs (maybe). KyunKyun is super cute too! I love how energetic she looks to continue breaking the purple trope so it isn't boring. I like how her and Wink's hairs mirror one another, and for her civilian design, it looks so cute! I love her hoodie and how she gives off social media influence vibes, but her socks feel a little jarring. However, her Cure form is very unique. I love her blue streaks, the fact that she's the first to have a bubble skirt (we love you KyunKyun), how she brings cohesion to Wink's pleats and Idol's frills, and her double bows. Her body couldddd also resemble a dropplet from the skirt up to the slimmer body, so I love that emphasis. AND THE MASCOTTTTSSSSS!!! Toei did amazing with them. Melorun is so cute with the little pouch she has, and Pururun, we love her! Her black pigtails and pink accents make her look so unique for a mascot., and I love the fairies' cohesion with the frilly star bows and heart accents. Overall, I'm quite excited for this.

Idol resembles a heart not just through the heart shapes all over her costume and hair (obviously), but if you look closely, her bun could resemble a heart, as well as the upside-down pleats on her skirt. Her silhouette is also a big giant heart, since the skirt is wide and massive like the top of a heart, and her upper body is more slim (the hair also points at the top in the back) to resemble the thinner end of said heart. Wink represents a diamond not just through her pleats or accessories, but also through the points of her cloth choker, and her hair is curvy inwards, with the top half's bun and slim legs adding onto that shape resemblance. Kyun Kyun resembles a droplet because of her wide round skirt that resembles the round end of a droplet, and her upper body is more slimmer to resemble the pointing top of a droplet (also the accessories, but its less vague). I just love these details to make the designs less generic than people assume them for. I think there's a deeper meaning to them in my opinion.
To be honest...I kinda dig these designs they remind me a lot of Heisei Era magical girls, especially stuff like Mermaid Melody and Kirarin Revolution I think the mascots look really cute
oh those black and white hearts on the logo are definitely the two fairy mascots. possibly the mid-season duo because both have black and white ribbons, it would also make sense kimipre would become a 5 member team soon since wanpre had 4 and hirogaru had 5. its a pattern for toei at this point, also i would love to have another black and white duo 🥹 as for their civilian fits, hirogaru and wanpre had cute and vibrant designs and i’m a bit sad kimipre civilian fits are so basic, especially the pink lead 😭 i’m happy we have another blue cure who has dark blue hair, wink now joins gelato and aqua 💙 overall in my opinion i like cure designs besides their civilian fits, i love how busy and unconventional they are since they’re idols and they’re kinda like delicious party in terms of how busy the designs are!

Gotta say I'm missing the yellow, we haven't seen any since like tropical rouge. (I'm not counting cure yum-yum, you cannot convince me that she is not orange. She clearly is). Also, while the designs are pretty decent, something that really irks me personally is when one cure's hair colour doesn't match the outfit when all the others do. Maybe putting pink hair on this specific design would be "too much" but it personally just takes points off the overall group for me, I don't like it. Other than that, looks good. Still not ecstatic about the idol theme though.
I will say the one main thing I don't like about new cure designs looks so much like the Aipri designs. I am not a fan of any of the Aipri designs and it reminds me how recent kids shows in the US are keep using the design path of LOL dolls(I don't like it...)(but I do like the big eyes since it reminds me of 2000s anime style such a throwback) The Cure's civilian design is fine..better then their cure vers for sure(I hope in the future, if their is a new cure in the team they will have a better design then these 3..) I am ok with the new fairy mascots too(they kinda have a pripara masot style). Now I am worried about the villans designs in this new series, I hope they are good
Are the designs messy? Yeah. Do I still like them? Actually, yes. Cure Idol is already growing on me. It may just be the hair (I love when female characters get beautiful long hair), but I quite like how bouncy her design feels! Her skirt reminds me of the Aikatsu 10th Anniversary acrylic stands that you could get during the theater premiere of the movie "Starway to the Future"!
I actually like the look of the character designs... I'm still a little weary of the whole "idol" obsession in Japan (maybe it's the underground/indie/punk music fan in me that bristles at the staged/fake feeling nature of the genre a bit and also the creepy obsessive fandom that often surrounds idols)... and I was disappointed about the reveal since it feels like there's already a huge saturation of idol themed shows for girls... but I'm certainly going to watch it since I love PreCure in general. Hopefully I'll find something enjoyable about it and it won't be too much of a slog for me. I mean, I enjoyed the "idol" themed show Waccha PriMagi, yeah... although I think it was the "witchy" nature of that show that hooked me in more than the "idolness" of it. If nothing else there's the Witchy PreCure sequel coming up to look forward to, yeah? >_o

I mean, I do like sparkly fashion and things in idol performances to a degree... but I still think it would be hard to shake the crux of idol performances that turn me the wrong way... seeing performers as something to be "IDOL"ized or held above everyone else, y'know? It's like for similar reasons that I dislike celebrity culture and why I gravitate more towards musicians and performers that I could see myself speaking casually with or sharing drinks together with.

Honeslty, to me I think their designs are decent. It's per squared ratio around the whole designs...I think the only thing why it looks messy is because of the checkers details and the hair design that's it. The human forms are almost perfect but it be cool if Idol has a music note necklace rather than on her head

Going off of what the leaker said I was imagining maybe the designer was from earlier season like around the time of Doki Doki because they posted on a Chinese site that the animation feels more like the earlier precure eras but I agree I think sometimes we have to give time for designs to be animated or shown during fight scenes for me to truly feel like if I like them, I just did a video on TikTok about cure Finale and I mentioned you because your video on Doki Doki made me want to watch lol Well tbh I dong like the blue girl’s bangs and forehead lol But apparently those checkered patterns are big in idol culture too so makes sense But I’d assume the blue is wink just because when she winks I imagine that star symbol sparkling from her eye
After so many seasons of designs with very varied colour pallets and variation between cures, the monotone looks arent exactly the most exiting, they look like they came straight out of jewelpet. I was apprehensive about wonpre's designs at first too (even though theyre some of my faves now) so i hope they grow on me as well. The civilian forms though... what did they think they were cooking ?

Basically it's Tokyo Mew Mew theme for precure The OG and maybe Splash Star still my main Precure to me, I think Suite Precure still original but some fans hate it I don't know why. But yeah Precure just lost his magic now
I even came up with a little theme for the pretty cure catchphrase Idol …. pretty cure. Of cheering up and singing for the whole entire world 💖cure Idol and I hope you come watch my concert 😊😊😊😊
You know for a person who really dislikes idol anime, the Cures' design look so good to me and the mascots are interesting. Ehh tbf, I ended up loving Waccha Primagi despite being an idol anime. So as long as You&Idol doesn't end up as big as a snoozefest like Wonderful was, I'll be down to fully watch a season again. :v For the designs, it's usually tradition for me to obsess over the blue Cure's design (or overall) but it seems KyunKyun ended up being my favourite so far! Idol's design looks great, her hair is my favourite about her and the only thing that bugs me is how big her skirt is. Wink is a solid design from what I'm seeing and it's nice to finally have a blue Cure who doesn't have pastel blue hair since Gelato. AND KYUNKYUN IS PEAK CURE DESIGN (well one of them, she pales in comparison with the peakest Cure design that is Sky) I wish KyunKyun and Wink had different hair colours though (pink and purple/teal). Not a big fan of the civilian designs except KyunKyun's (bruh), they feel too basic for me though Wink's civ form reminds me of Reika lol. Also people called the Idol leak fake and now say these designs look hard to animate, bro have you seen Suite and Delicious Party?
One thing i dislike are just the mascot are too generic i just hope we can get a normal looking mascot like tarte. Of course i like the cure design! But cure idol color kinda need to improved a bit? Like toei can use other pink type color like peach or soft pink! But why only the generic color pink? No variation? Or toei are color blind?
Maybe I'm crazy but I'm obsessed with the hair for the pink and purple cures. The curls remind me of those old flash hairstyle games.The normal forms are a bit too bland for me. Usually, I like the normal and magical forms differing for each other, but something about this artstyle makes these looks odd.
It’s giving 2010s vibes and I honestly like it. It’s not really giving precure tho it’s definitely an art style I’m not used to but hopefully I’ll get more used to it when the show starts airing
I don't like the art style. I hope it won't be a copy of Aikatsu or Mermaid Melody. I found Kirakira's proximity to Tokyo Mew Mew pretty cheeky. Let's see if the obligatory baby mascot (Ojamajo Doremi) is back.

I really don't like the art style for this. It wasn't too; bad but It wasn't good either. It's mostly meh, if I'm been honest. The art style kinda reminds me of a mix of pripara and (probably) mermaid melody. The cure designs weren't any better either but I like the headsets that they're wearing! It looks pretty cool. It reminds me of mermaid melody. I like the purple girl's design, her hairstyle is unique and I really don't like the pink one, she looks a bit too busy. That hairstyle doesn't help either! The blue one is ok to me but she doesn't look bad. They might grew on me once I get to see them in action but for now, this is just my initial opinion on it. I agree about their civilian designs. They looks extremely boring and odd.... I like simple designs but not so much for this one. I do like the heart pin for all of them tho, it looks neat. Again, they might grew on me once the episodes are out but for now, this is just my opinion on it.

AND KYUNKYUN IS PEAK CURE DESIGN (well one of them, she pales in comparison with the peakest Cure design that is Sky) I wish KyunKyun and Wink had different hair colours though (pink and purple/teal). Not a big fan of the civilian designs except KyunKyun's (bruh), they feel too basic for me though Wink's civ form reminds me of Reika lol.
Also people called the Idol leak fake and now say these designs look hard to animate, bro have you seen Suite and Delicious Party?

Of course i like the cure design! But cure idol color kinda need to improved a bit? Like toei can use other pink type color like peach or soft pink! But why only the generic color pink? No variation? Or toei are color blind?
Gives me pripara and mermaid melody vibes... Doesn't feel like precure tbh, if it weren't for the title I wouldn't have guessed better.

Maybe I'm crazy but I'm obsessed with the hair for the pink and purple cures. The curls remind me of those old flash hairstyle games.The normal forms are a bit too bland for me. Usually, I like the normal and magical forms differing for each other, but something about this artstyle makes these looks odd.

They literally look like a rip off of other cure’s designs mixed together I don’t wanna be a hater but I think even a fan could come up with something better! Well…I don’t wanna be to negative I still have hope its gonna be good I’m also rlly hoping they will possibly have a green cure (probably won’t happen but hopefully lol)
I really don't like the art style for this. It wasn't too; bad but It wasn't good either. It's mostly meh, if I'm been honest. The art style kinda reminds me of a mix of pripara and (probably) mermaid melody.
The cure designs weren't any better either but I like the headsets that they're wearing! It looks pretty cool. It reminds me of mermaid melody. I like the purple girl's design, her hairstyle is unique and I really don't like the pink one, she looks a bit too busy. That hairstyle doesn't help either! The blue one is ok to me but she doesn't look bad. They might grew on me once I get to see them in action but for now, this is just my initial opinion on it.
I agree about their civilian designs. They looks extremely boring and odd.... I like simple designs but not so much for this one. I do like the heart pin for all of them tho, it looks neat. Again, they might grew on me once the episodes are out but for now, this is just my opinion on it.
