This time I was really surprised by the comments. I don't understand why people are so obsessed with the new and modern. All of the pieces in this fashion show are timeless, you can wear every outfit you buy for a lifetime, this is what you call an investment! Also, this season's color palette was gorgeous from start to finish.
If ur a Chanel fan since Karl's days you'll know or noticed it's not going up hill. Timeless is one thing but in fashion if you're not creative in adding timeless and forward, it won't be long before one became history.
If coco chanel was about one thing It was. That she made a point to be new and modern in her time. She was a trail blazer. As far as clothing She invented a lot of the fashion. Vocabulary that and for as much as these clothes could be called classic. The spirit of chanel should always be to innovate. After all. That was she became famous for Am I wrong ? Cause I’m this collection all I see is pieces from a vintage shop.
If these gorgeous models look frumpy in the clothes, how would the average woman look?
I always associated Chanel with something grandmas and old ladies of 5th avenue wore, but since Virginie Viard has taken over as creative director I like the new era of Chanel: intellectual and eclectic

At first I was disappointed but after watching again and taking in the details, this is a beautiful and classic collection that is very wearable and has something for every age. The collection has a childish quality yet still captivates you through the mature proportions of some of the garments. That edge makes it very age appropriate for almost anyone shopper. Bravo Virginie. This will be very fun for buyers. Each item is a piece to covet.
Nice color palette. Touches of avocado & soft coral pink. An array of purple hues. Cranberry or garnet. Useful browns. Hallelujah! No stiletto heels!!!

Now that Karl Lagerfeld has passed on its nice to see the collection managed by a woman. Not that he wasn't talented, because he definitely was very talented. This collection seems so flowy, so feminine. Really beautiful, useful, and practical.

I think this year the Chanel show is very suitable for people wearing on the street. Not really too fancy for people wearing in daily life. I like the design and color, it matches so well. They are beautiful~!
I like this collection. It truly is ready...to...wear! So cozy with all those slouchy sweaters and colors for everyone too. Leave the extravagance for the couture collection.
The hair and makeup look for this show are gorgeous!! Healthy glowy skin without crazy amounts of high light and gorgeous silky, shiny hair!! Beautiful.
Finally the house of Chanel is back on track. Very user friendly.
The spirit of Coco herself in every design here. Proof positive that in the right hands, classic can indeed be fresh, even forward without ever looking dated or desperately bizarre. Invigorating to see a show of beautifully crafted sensibly inspired Chanel rather than the absurdities of a designer clearly running on empty, parading out clown clothes in a desperate and failing struggle to appear relevant, tuned in and with it!

Yes. It may not suit those for whom KL can never be replaced but I think Mademoiselle herself would love this collection. Virginie is really getting into her stride as a designer within the constraints of working for Chanel. Its ready to wear and I’d wear most of these looks in a heartbeat so 💕

The first collection Virginie's Era that I love. It's like a young woman finds lost grandma's luggage in the attic, with dusty classic and gorgeous clothes. Amazing colors, especially comb pink-purple.

Some really nice pieces in this collection and I’m liking the colors very much. Elegant and classic with a modern Chanel touch.
Loved this collection. A lot of retro references that were updated in new ways. Luxurious fabrics, especially the tweeds. and I had a Dutch boy hat like the one at 4:01, but mine was red in 1968.
Not everything must be to modern. Classic and stylish is working as well for many people.

Ok I know I’m probably going to stir up all kinds of emotions BUT I keep seeing comments where they love that Chanel “went back to the classics” but to me personally I’m actually not. Going back seems to be the only direction they can go in because they haven’t had a new or iconic collection since 2015. Anything after that has just been tired collection after tired collection followed by old designs being revamped. Instead of giving a new and original collection we got tweed….again. How riveting. Yyaayy love that. They are going back because they refuse to actually go forward for some reason.

These outfits all look very nice. I like the adventurous mixture of colors, textures and patterns yet still classic and elegant. And not too much exposure, if you know what I mean. I didn't know people still dress like this. I don't follow fashion closely. However, I know what I like and I think I have good taste. Mostly what you see in media these days is tacky stuff like Kardashian style, which is not becoming at all but rather yucky.

Nice, but very little I would consider haute couture. Those straight skirts hitting below the kneecaps look stodgy. But, as usual, the fabrics, patterns, and colors are divine. All those metallic touches! A trend for sure.
Coats with large checks were cool in late 70's. I bought one on trip to the US. Fashion goes round and round if you live long enough. Nice anyway.
