Ayyyy an ericasedc Knipex review!! This video made me feel all wistful and nostalgic, as it instantly transported me back to where I was watching Knipex youtube reviews in 2023 and stumbled upon this dope ass cutie living in a trailer in the woods!! Maybe you could try wearing some of those padded fingerless cycling gloves to alleviate the wear and tear on your hands while stitching?? I didn't even realize that my camo Super Tinker had a hole for a pin until one of your videos! 🤦♂. I don't get all the universal shade thrown at the parcel hook! I LOVE the parcel hook! Ok, it might've taken me a few years to find a use for it, but I DID!! It's the perfect implement to hold three loosened guitar strings off of the saddles when you're setting the action and intonation on the guitar!! It can also be used to remove G-strings off of hot Moms!! LOL @ "if you aren't yanking on things all the time"...ummm, can I just plead the 5th on that one, your honor? 😆. I won't be using my sh*t tonight cause I'll be preoccupied using someone's BestDamnMom instead!! Awesome video!! Love you, Erica!!! 🧡🧡🧡

You turned me into a huge fan of Knipex pliers, now I've got four different types that I use all the time at work. Best pliers I've ever owned. And while the Fieldmaster is still my favorite SAK, the Super Tinker is a very close second and definitely my most carried👍Cheers, E!
I was inspired by one or more of your previous videos and months ago went out and bought a Maxpedition EDC fatty pocket organizer that I either carry on my belt or keep in my car door with the following tools: a 2000 lumen USB rechargeable LED flashlight, a Leatherman Wingman multitool, a 6” Irwin tools/Vise-Grip groove lock pliers, and a Husky Folding Sure-Grip Lock Back Utility Knife with spare blades. And i EDC a pocket knife from my large collection of knives.(my favorite brand is Spyderco ).
Hi Erica, Great video! I'll have to watch your other review of Knipex Pliers. Although I've never done it myself, I feel like I've seen a product (like a can of liquid rubber paint) at Home Depot that you can dip tool handles into to make rubber handle covers? Might be something to check out for your mini pliers. I saw the recommendations below people made for "heat shrink tubing for electrical wiring" - that might even be easier/better, but I haven't tried that either. I want to get some of those Knipex pliers - I'm glad I saw your video first, because you made a great case for the XS instead of the 5 inch, and I wasn't thinking of getting the mini because I thought they were too small. After your video, I think I'll get the XS - thanks!
I carry the Knipex XS with a Victorinox Huntsman when I go camping. Likely a very different use scenario from yours ... I use the pliers as a pot lifter among other things... but same logic in getting there (I would rather have the Victorinox tools, with a better set of pliers). My EDC is a 65mm Wenger, because I am an office worker.. I just ordered the pouch from Lynch upon seeing this, so thanks for turning me on to that. Now, I will go use my "Stuff" ; )
Victorianox Super Tinker *is* hard to beat, BUT the Mercury Knife Makers (MKM) Campo 7 has supplanted my Super Tinker. Its basically a SAK, but with Magnacut for the blade and nice micarta scales instead of plastic. PS, I asked for and received a pair of Cobra XS for Christmas after seeing this video when it first dropped. Super, super happy with the XS. My Leatherman Surge has been pretty neglected lately, but my pockets sure are lighter. 🤣
I found your channel because I searched videos for the swisstool (maybe it was the spirit) and found your video on how it was your edc at the time. Glad I found your content!
im a hvac installer, i was wondering if i should start EDCing a pair of them after watching ur video. but i think i would get the 6in (150mm) model . Still looking at different options. keep up the awesome work
Erica get some Heat Shrink Tubing for electrical wiring, and use that as handle covers. Heat up the shrink tube and you’ll have amazing covers to cover the Texture grip gnarling on the XS pliers. It’ll act similar to the dipped covers on your 125 size pliers. It’ll act similar wont be as good as the dipped covers b on the 125’s but it should help you in covering the gnarling and should help the meat of your hands 🙌 when your doing your saddle stitching. 🧵 just a suggestion for ya. Blessings
The 125 for sure are a better fit in the hand 🤚 and to get some stuff done … but the XS are slightly a much better carry, so it’s a little trade off. Great stuff Erica.
Leather sleeves would be best as many others have mentioned, easy quick option would be baseball bat/tennis racket handle tape, the cheapest option and probably the one I'd go with if not the leather sleeves would have to be bike tube wrapping secured with some heat shrink. Great vid keep up the informative approach!
Rock that outro,,!!! I've lost my little Knipex, suppose the best way to find them is to buy a new pair, and then the old ones will appear as if by magic,, Lmfao,, ps,, KK- nippex, 😊
I often carry the smaller version with a Victorinox Compact. The pliers go into a nylon (Velcro closing) pocket slip, so they don't scuff whatever pocket knife that's in my pocket too.
I also use knipex xs in place of Leatherman. I pair with sak explorer due to inline Phillips. It is half the weight and more versatile. Keep pair in a viperade ve9
A drop forged tool will always out perform a MIM part like the leatherman pliers head. I have leatherman tools, just dont push them hard to break them. Those little pliers and a good SAK make good sense for the price. You enjoy your Sunday evening Ms E. Take care.🇺🇲🌲🙄🔪
@ yeah that is true i have also have some jewelry making pliers they are also nice, may be you can dip that tiny knipex in some silicon coating to spare your hands
Having the plier separate from the rest of the tool is better because you can hold the nut with the pliers while unscrewing the bolt screw from the nut. DEEEEZZZZ NUTS. LOL I respect your views on the Tinker but I like the Huntsman as it has a saw. The Swiss Champ is bigger but it has 95 percent of the tools Victorinox makes including pliers that is really great for pulling needles and holding paracord while you melt the ends. If Swiss Champ is too big for you, you might like the Handyman that has the pliers. I agree, the Knipex XS handles are brutal when doing any work that requires firm gripping. I wish they made rubber slips for the handles. Or atleast make the handles rounded and smooth.
I've actually been looking at Kinipex pliers on Amazon as my slip joints are getting old and aren't functioning as well as they use to. Have all the Victranox knives I need until the end of my days. Might have to get one more if they produce one in a super steel. Good content. Thanks Erica.

Great vid, enjoyed it a lot. I too prefer the combination SAK/Knipex Cobra XS over Leatherman, partly because here in the UK we can't carry locking blades so there are very few multitools we can EDC here...I can count the ones from reputable brands which I can legally carry on the fingers of one hand. But also I find the Cobras way more versatile. Despite their size the design and ergonomics mean they are literally a force multiplier. I can imagine trying to sew leather with a LM Wave, or even a standard pair of needlenose pliers, would be a pain in the ass, the Cobra XS are much more suitable for this.
