    Since starting this project, I have noticed the quality of the black (310) drills is not great. They are misshapen with lots of tabs. I wanted to let everyone know, since I did not catch this when first reviewing. In future videos, I will open the drills so I can inspect them better.
    Also, sorry for my nails, I know they look ratty!
    Unboxing Aliexpress’s Naifei diamond painting.
    Wish me luck on my giant diamond painting! And please help me with any advice in the comments below! I’ve never done a big diamond painting and this one is 120 x 60 cm.
    Skip to 16:09 if you just want my overall thoughts.

    I made one of the biggest ones that I have ever done in my life after my husband's death in may of last year. It was called the great wall of china and it was 210cm by 80cm, and it took me almost 3 months to work on it everyday. After I finished that one I gave it to a friend as a gift. I had to stop making diamond painting after that for a while. Because I was in to much pain after doing all of it and also gluing it. All I can say that it was very sweet of your boyfriend to get it for you. My husband bought mine before his death. I got it one week before his death. Just take your time doing it.

    • @DiamondDelight

    I love big diamond paintings working on a 80×280 at the moment. One thing I do because no matter how much I love the image by the end it is a battle because I have worked on it for so long. When I start I look at the picture and I pick the part that I want to do most and I save that for last. Also if I miss the sense of accomplishment that I get when I finish, I do a small painting or special gems then go back to my Goliath lol!😘🤗

      Omg for your first one?! You're ambitious! I love it!
      You kinda sound like me haha I spent so much time researching the different sizes, drill types, etc... because I really wanted to make sure it was something I would love to look at when I finished. I bet you won't be disappointed ;)

      Yeahhhh I was like “well I want the most detail, 105x70 will be fineeee” then I started watching more videos and such and I was like, well, mistake may have been Made. And it’ll take me a year to complete 😂 I have two kids so I can only work on it at night when they go to bed. But it seems my picture won’t be here for another 2ish months from the looks of all the comments I’m seeing online 😭

    • @DiamondDelight
      @DiamondDelight  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha well it might be easier to learn on a smaller one to start with, but you will be just fine! The learning curve is quick, so I'm sure you will get the hang of it in no time. You are smart to watch youtube videos, because I learned so many techniques and do's/dont's from other channels.
      Oh yeah I bet you'll be itching to work on it all day, but it will be an amazing treat to work on after putting the little ones to bed. And omg I'm sorry, waiting for the first diamond painting is the worst!!! Never been so impatient in my life.

    • @DiamondDelight
      @DiamondDelight  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What company did you order from? Many companies have guarantees and will replace missing/lost/damaged diamonds, so I would contact their customer service!
      If not, you can order the drills individually online. Just check for the DMC number (should be on the chart or on the baggies of diamonds) and then search for that DMC number and make sure you get round or square depending on what you need.

    I'm not sure if the issues you had with the tabs on the black is that same as what I'm going to suggest. I saw a video where this person had some that were broken apart. A quick easy fix they used was dumping some into a green tray and using another green tray on top and press them together by pinching all over.

    • @DiamondDelight
      @DiamondDelight  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Stephanie! I do know what you are talking about, but sadly it's not an issue of the drills being stuck together, but more that the actual shapes of the drills are messed up. I appreciate your help though!

    • @DiamondDelight
      @DiamondDelight  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sage! I need to try some more companies before I can recommend which ones have the best squares, but I will say that the majority of companies offer both square and round drills! If you have a company in mind, try looking up "post reviews" of that company on youtube. Often, youtubers will review the company after completing a painting and let you know about the quality of the canvas, drills, etc... I am planning on doing that for this painting when I finish as well.

      Hello! I am not very familiar with which companies ship to Mexico, but I think the website where I got this diamond painting ships internationally. The website is www.aliexpress.com/
      Just a heads up, you may not get the best quality on that website...it varies from seller to seller. But there are TONS of options. It also ships from China mostly, so packages can take months to arrive.
      There are many other companies that are much more highly recommended by diamond painters, but I am not sure of their shipping policies and also have not tried them myself, so don't feel I can recommend them yet.
      I hope that helps!

      Hi there! It took me about 326 hours to complete! (I uploaded the finish piece and a review here: th-cam.com/video/TKYlPCiW9R4/w-d-xo.html&t )
      I don't have an easel, but I put it on a giant piece of cardboard. I would alternate between working on it flat (when working near the edges) and propping the cardboard up on the edge of a table to form a make-shift easel (when working on middle sections that were too far away to reach when it was flat). Hope the helps!

    Wow, That's really and pretty darn huge? How long have you been Diamond painting? I bought 3 really large ones also from Aliexpress some months back because of course the price was a steal. I did start one but i doing it really slow and i just keep doing other ones. I think the size has made it seem pretty daunting but hopefully I will conplete it. I Rolled mine around a pool noodle and just cut the noodle to size. It came rolled with the picture facing outward with the clear plastic so I'm not sure how it will work with the opaque cover but I'm sure you'll find a way. But anyways, Good luck on your channel. Take care 👍🏽🤗

      Thank you! I started around December 2019, but have been interested in DP since 2018! I watched loads of videos and learned a lot about them before actually starting and I feel like it helped with my technique.
      I understand how the size can make it daunting! I try to just focus on one section at a time and I actually think the opaque cover has helped because I get excited to see the next section, so that motivates me. I'm sure it will look great when you are done.
      Thank you for the advice about the pool noodle. I have been meaning to go buy some, but my dollar tree is out of stock right now. Been using a poster canister for now! Thank you for commenting and good luck on your DPs!

    I know this is a 9 month late comment...but HOW did you fit that on a flat surface?👁-👁 Even if it was cardboard, where do you lay the cardboard!? 🤯 If you ever read this maybe you can explain a bit?😅😅

    • @DiamondDelight
      @DiamondDelight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It wasn't easy! At first I rolled the covered portion, but that actually ended up messing up the canvas a little (do NOT roll with the canvas facing in 😅). I ended up finding a really large piece of cardboard on the side of the road, cut it to the correct size, and used office clips to attach my painting to the cardboard. I used my kitchen table when working on the painting and stored it in another room. The kitchen table was big enough to at least support most of the weight of the cardboard and if a little hung off the edge it was fine!
      As far as the actual set-up, I laid the painting flat when working on sections close to the edge. When working on sections farther from the edge, I tilted the cardboard off the table so it rested on my lap with the back supported by the edge of the table (kind of making the whole thing into an easel on my lap). Does that make sense? Sorry I'm struggling to explain it 😝

      @abby3079 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DiamondDelight Yes, that explained a lot! That right there is some commitment😌 I have started my first one ever- and it’s a 16 by 20 I think and I love it! But it took some arrangements to fit it on my desk- anyways thanks for the reply 🥺💗

    • @DiamondDelight
      @DiamondDelight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it was a process to set-up! haha
      Oh 16x20 is manageable!! I have definitely heard you can roll your canvases (even once you've placed drills) as long as you roll it with the drills facing out....but I'm scared to risk it so haven't tried it yet. I will probably test it out with my next painting!
