So beautiful. Thank you. We sang this in our church services yesterday. We have a small church attendance too, but very full of God's love and holiness to follow Jesus. This song is a source of joy and declaration in my heart! What a testimony of the youth!! I pray they are still faithful to that commitment of that very day and hour. 🙏
At age 14, in 1939, I was privileged to drive from Jersey City, NJ, to Lake Koronis in Paynesville, Minnesota, to attend an Evangelical Church Convention. My uncle drove and two ministers went with us. The convention hall held thousands and one night a youth choir of several hundred sang, "Follow, I Will Follow Thee". I'm almost 90 now and have not heard it again until I searched Google, trying to find the music so I could play and sing with my Qchord and heard Mrs. Gavin playing and singing it. I still can't find sheet music so I can have the words chorded. Thank you, Mrs. Gavin, for your beautiful rendition of one of my favorite Christian songs. As beautiful as this song is, and as touched I was upon hearing it, it would be another 20 years before I fully really realized that I was a sinner and could only be saved by REALLY following my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ !
Dear Friend and lover of the old songs, YOU MADE MY DAY!! I read your wonderful testimony about the song "Follow, I Will Follow Thee"! Don't you wonder why we ever stopped singing those blessed old songs. They say so much and the message is full of theology, encouragement, dedication, I could go on and on. My husband and I have raised five children, never did expect to be on TV or radio. but 24 years ago I was given the opportunity to do a radio program, thinking it would be two or three years. Next month I will have been on the radio for 24 years and TV for 22 Years which really proves that there are many people who still love the old songs and do not want to give them up!
