I want to thank you for being so open with your plans and price estimates for each of your builds, I've recently become more interested in building a passive home and having this info is an incredible asset! Certainly once we are closer to breaking ground I'll be reaching out to you because of that.
Thank you for the tour. It's a beautiful home with lots of thoughtful design features. A constant pressure system will have negligible (if any) energy savings. I'm really interested in more detail regarding the water filtration system though!
A lot of positive features in this home but the high storage areas would unfortunately be an injury risk to me as a senior. Curious, do you have a floor plan for aging in place? We are an ever growing part of the population.
Hi there! We have many different floor plans on our site that you can view, but we also specialize in custom builds as well to suit your needs. We have have worked with clients like yourself in the past and were able to accommodate to their home according to their lifestyle. You can check out one of our client stories here: th-cam.com/video/T-ZjIZCM7kw/w-d-xo.html Feel free to also reach to us directly, we'd be happy to answer all your questions :)
I hope you will move in and can share what it is like to live in the house. It is incredible that the one heat pump can heat and cool the whole home. I would be interested in seeing the garage area. It looks like there is a room above it.

Thanks! All of the exhaust and supply vents are tied into the fresh air machine, So only two pipes to the outside (supply/exhaust) so that all incoming and outgoing air travels through the high-performance heat recovery system
Thanks for your question! Important to mention - a cooktop is ventilated in a passivehome, just indirectly through the ERV system … MUA’s are good for maintaining a highly oxygenated environment since they bring in fresh air, However, best done through a Passive ERV (fresh air) machine - a machine that is 90% efficient at -10°C… An ERV’s job is to provide healthy indoor air quality managing both oxygen and humidity levels
It appears a lot of passive consultants and Build Show crew feel that a SEPARATE makeup air is important, even with an ERV. A separate make up air for just the kitchen hood in addition to an ERV. The problem is there just are not a lot of easy options. Recirc hood with an ERV is the easier option.
@@todd5963 thanks for your feedback, but it’s extremely important to simplify the home. We have direct monitoring, oxygen levels, carbon dioxide levels, and humidity levels in our homes. All of the above is easily managed by a certified passive ERV machine, no MUA required… why spend 100s of dollars on something that is not required?
Tankless water heaters are very energy intensive! best to use a heat pump water heater instead where cost of water heating is pennies a day.. For water air conditioning system, see here - nlpaqua.com

Hi. Nice compact house. Are the vents in the bathrooms vent to the outside?

Have you ever done make up air for kitchen hood with filtered mechanical damper instead of a recirc hood?

What not a tankless water heater? Also I’d like to know further which water softener you used

Given the title....i felt your tour was too active.
Thanks for engaging in conversation, that said, we do not understand ..Could you explain in other words?
I'm not sure whether you are being facetious, but you know that a passive house/home is a type of dwelling, right?

Just to clarify, my previous reply was intended for our sunshiney friend. I enjoyed the video btw 😊
Main bedroom not master
It’s a master bedroom.
