Most accurate video to date. Visited end of May 2023. We really love it. Coming back in August. Is not that busy with people or tourists for that matter except on Thursday when the market is on. If you want a quiet and chilled holiday this is the place. Really recommend

Glad you like them Devon and thank you for your kind words. It's really something to read that people can also enjoy the "underdogs" and the less known towns... They actually help me as well to be honest! At the beginning it was a kind of an experiment (and pehaps a kind of an "escape" after a troubled time relationship' wise), but with time the "old" walks like this one in Vignanello are becoming a kind of memory of that time I went there, the time I talked to an old villager, the atmosphere each little town has. Light lamps hanging on those age old walls , tiny fountain in a courtyard and well maintained flower pots in narrow streets, all amazingly beautiful . Wonderful video .

We hadn't seen this one till today, but we were both captivated by its labyrinthine charm, the natural colours on the walls, the mix of 1950s shop signs (especially that little cluster around the fountain just before 8 minutes) and ancient steps and archways. What a lovely, dreamlike place.
Glad you enjoyed it; I remember that day very well.. it's a town many people found a little too "dark" but instead I found it quite fascinating and full of charm... it's not a renowned town, but that's more to like and to discover I believe. Many of those small towns are depopulating at an incredible fast rate; lately I'm seeing a lot of towns which were crowded just 10 years ago, literally being depopulated... I hope to make them justice by filming them, even though many don't like these desolated walks
@@StillWanderer Yes, some of the "empty streets" walks work better than others. This one is my favourite, though, and I'll rewatch again several times, I'm sure. The place has enough character to keep me occupied without people to watch. I did notice a lot of parked cars, though, and a railway line. Do many people live here and commute to Rome by train? Or use the town as a car park?

This is wonderful, thanks for sharing. My husband's family live in Vignanello and we were there in 2014. This brought back lovely memories. I'd love to see it again but for now will have to settle for your video. I really appreciated the fact that this rustic village has so far been untouched by tourism. Indeed... an hidden gem very few knows about... that was the initial idea for this channel... to show unusual italian towns, mostly tiny but also larger ones, often off the beaten track for tourists... also famous ones of course, but the main core idea was that, and I still try to continue on that path. The best comprehensive video of Vignanello I've seen yet. This is my Nono's/Granfathers home town. My son will be visiting in June. I'm trying to locate some family members to reconnect with. It would be nice to see the house my Grandfather was raised in. Any suggestions such as phone directory or anything that would help locate my relatives so my Son could visit? But have you tried searching on Facebook for something like vignanello pages or associations? Usually I find a lot of them for several towns and for searches about it...also search for "pro Loco vignanello" if there is? These are no profits associations for each towns

Interesting history about this place. Before Covid, was the Ruspoli Castle usually open to the public? The gardens are really lovely indeed. I especially enjoyed the walk among the narrow streets. Love the charm of the old buildings with its picturesque storybook scene, attractive flowered and green plants decorating both sides of the streets. Wonderful tour that I appreciate very much. 👍
Thank You dear AC Lang. It was truly unfortunate that the ruspoli castle was closed (at that time covid restrictions for museums were on), as before going I was reading about the gardens a lot. Maybe I'll visit the Castel only in the future if I happen to be nearby. Usually they are open and are visitable with a ticket!

This town is not as pretty as some others, but still interesting to walk along the narrow streets and up and down. Also quite a few of "tunnels" to walk under. As with all these towns, the centro storico is the most interesting. Thanks again for sharing 😊🚶

Lovely twisting alleys with a colourufl spread of flower-pots around unexpected corners.... Can you tell me why many houses in Italian borghi have curtains ON THE OUTSIDE of their entrance doors? There are quite a number of examples in this video and I am very curious to know... I have often noticed this in videos recorded in different Italian towns. Thanks in advance and congrats!! Dear Lidia thank you for your comment and glad you enjoyed it! Good question actually... My parents never used them, though I see them quite in many many places. I believe that during summer they can help in keeping insects out while having the main door or window open ! That's what I saw in Sicily when I was a kid. I may be very wrong though ))
Hi Lidia, curtains are usually put outside to prevent sun and rain to ruin old wooden doors. It was even more common back in the days, modern doors usually don't need it.
Interesting little town but not included in my favorites. I think to walk in these narrows streets at night is a bit scary since I saw very few light poles. Anyway the video is well done except for not showing what lies behind some crossings, in other words, we see what the camera has shown not what your eyes were seeing. Thank you for sharing.
Agreed Ivan, a very peculiar town for sure. Maybe it was the time or season. I would like to tour it in summer with people around. I enjoyed it too, different though. Wish you a nice weekend deaf friend and thanks for the tip in filming. I'll try to improve on that on future videos

Do you think you would ever be able to video the inside of some of these homes? What about something that's for sale or rent so you're not encroaching on someone's privacy. Do you know a realtor?
Interesting question Sharon, I don't personally own a realtor but to be honest I would be quite curious as well. It all depends from the owner though I guess , and their privacy feelings! I must say that they can be in all different shapes and styles inside, as far as I could see also from where I live; some very old exterior houses can even have rather modern fornitures and styles (thanks to IKEA? Maybe...)

He may let you look and video and he'd get some international free publicity. By the way, I've been watching your subscriber number growing! 😊
