I heard this cover on a “Zelda music for study” video. Once this music played I was like “wait…this is amazing.” I think I replayed the same song like 8 times until I finally searched for the original. Now I need to play this game.
F*CKING THANK YOU. I came here looking for this EXACT comment and it happens to be number 1 at the top. I've been looking for that song because all I knew was Kindly Keyin used it sometimes and I could never figure out where it came from. I came here remembering that this music sounded like it, wondering if anyone would comment the same thing. Hell yes you've just saved the day.
i remember how i played it on my gameboy pocket when i was 11 or 12 or so... leaning to my childhood room window. i could cry. thank you nintendo for remaking it.
Koholint island vanishing could signify the awakening as meant in Buddhism which is probably something rather happy. The idea more or less (but don't take my word for it 100% - I am a westerner) is leaving behind the perception you have of the world as being a distant entity (small island in the sea - an ant floating in space etc) and realizing that you are an inseparable part of this world (Link floating in the sea - he is now a part of the sea, a part of the world). Link is happy in the ending of the game. I think. The way to enlightment and awakening in Buddhism is also called the eightfold path (there are eight "things to do") - the way to awaken Link is to collect eight instruments! To me the way this game promotes some Buddhist philosophies and ideas in some parts of it is genius and is one of the reasons I love it so much. But who cares, right? Well I wanted to share my view on the ending of the game in hopes that someone might be intrigued =]
heard this in a "calming zelda piano remixes for studying" video, and eventually i learned that every time i hear this song while studying i have to skip it. im not even joking whenever this song would come on while i was working, i would just sit there for 4 minutes and jam tf out. shits absolutely beautiful man
Zelda+Jazz? That's like making a Zelda Game set in Sinnoh and I love it! Pokemon Diamond fights for spot one in my favorite games along with various Zelda games.
Beautiful. Amazing. This cover is simply perfect. I really really love it. But I'd like to tell something more... I'm gonna make a video that will be a compilation of piano jazz covers of zelda songs. I found some amazing artists who did beautiful jazz covers, and I thought it would be great to put them all together in a single video. But, I'd like to know, can I use this cover in my video ? Do you allow me to put it in it ? Thank you for you response :D
This could have been remixed into some really cool Justice-like funk electro. The piano tweak/highpoint at 1:15-1:17 which occurs throughout the song reminds me alot of their retro sound. The baseline is also amazing; add some kick, snare and synths and some cooler transisitions and -- and-- ..
13 years now, I listened while I was In high school remembering my days as I child. Now a Plastic Surgeon…keep dreaming guys and go for the adventure.

12 years later, and this version of Koholint Island STILL invokes happy tranquil tears! 🎶 🗡️ 🛡️ 🏝️
Anyone else get any Gymnopédie No. 1 vibes from this?
Yes

Yes, I was thinking this too. It's mainly the start of the song that's similar I think
Simply endearing. It's fun, nostalgic, charming, soft, mellow, and sweeps me away to the shores of Koholint Island.
+Vance Jenkins learn to play it and its fucking magical sir, i promise you
Koholint island... Makes me sad knowing how it all ends..
Dogstalker me too

Koholint is canonically a figment of a mind, so as long as you keep it in your memory it will always exist!
Best cover of Sword Search I've ever heard, and the little jazz baselines only make it better.
Finally I found this... I heard it once and I have been looking for it for quite some time! Great version!
3:28 - end always makes me imagine Link scattin’ and boppin’ down the beach, with Bow-wow and Ghost in tow
Merci beaucoup.
Makes me remember fond memories of childhood... Wish I could go back to them sometimes. xD

had to wipe away some tears. I was 5 when I first played this game =)
I used to listen to this like, all day back in high school. I still love how this sounds, but it feels quite nostalgic.
Same here dude, I remember being on the bus at night coming back from practice, it's kinda surreal when I think back to those times
I was searching so hard to find this remix after hearing it in the zelda study music complation. Absolutely amazing arrangement!
love the bass groove
Superb!
Best version ever
Good God. You've taken a childhood favorite and made it a smooth jam for my soul!
If this isn't at my funeral, I'm not going.
And now we get to hear this masterpiece again

It reminds me of minecraft
Lol you just see all those comments of "wow this reminds me of my childhood" and then there's you "This reminds me of minecraft"
I love how the title spoils the game's ending.
