Children can be such monsters.
After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.

Would have been nice if they didn’t reveal what’s wrong with the girl in the trailer. Would have loved the curiosity and the suspense.

Seriously I feel like they don’t know how to market horror movies these days, one example that does it right is Barbarian its trailer is engaging yet does not tell u much about the story and the actual movie is bad shit crazy, nevertheless I always love when horror movie goes gleeful carnage vibe it still looks like a blast
Because it’s the premise of the movie. Without it we’d not be interested or know what the hell is happening. It’s not like they spoiled the end of the film they just gave us that she’s a vamp, we don’t know why they’re trapped with her, how she’s even like this, etc. please watch it before complaining

one that'd probably overwhelm the trailer house or marketing group that did Barbarian if all the projects broke down the door for them
if that kind of marketing was applied overall it'd make people scratch their heads way more and maybe not have as good of an idea if those movies would be something they'd want to see if it was a super mystery and all that.
I'd say the kind of marketing the above is looking for sounds more like the job for a case by case basis kind of thing. Especially if the movie itself certainly warrants it and helps the movie.

This movie kind of reminds me of Don't Breathe, a film about a group of criminals, who commit a crime against someone, whom they think is a harmless person; but that person later turns out to be something much more sinister.

I love that they did a fourth-wall break and joked about some of the different vampire types, at the same time doing shout-outs and recognition for the people who have written the books or made the stories into film.

I just went to the movies last night to see it because I love horror movies and I loved it so much and some of the scenes gave me goose bumps💯💯💯but when they showed Angus Cloud I cried a little because this was his last film before he passed and I love at the end they said “In Loving memory of Angus cloud” and above it they drew out a cloud🥺🥺

Sure, but I feel we need more legitimately scary movies, with a semi unique twist or not. 30 Days of Night was a solid entry. Fingers crossed on Nosferatu. Don’t get me wrong, I’m going to watch this, but it’s obviously as much a comedy as anything else.

I love the return to fun horror. "Ready or Not" was such a blast to watch and this looks like it's very much continuing to bring the jumps and the laughs.

This is giving strong 80s vamp vibes - that fun, bat$hit crazy Lost Boys/Fright Night aesthetic where the horror and humor actually work TOGETHER. Mixing that with a chamber-style, monster-on-the-loose, survive-the-night story is brilliant. Looks promising. Excellent trailer.

A lot of these comments look fake af. Why would you ruin the reveal? If I watched the trailers beforehand, I would never have watched the movie. This is literally the movie. There’s not much else besides watching it play out. That’s it. This movie is actually reallly good for what it is and the little girl is a great actress for her age, esp. it just feels so….. idk… if you’re somehow gonna watch this movie and reading the comments before watching the trailer. DO NOT WATCH THE TRAILERS. Watch the movie. My friend who did watch the trailer wasn’t even paying attention to the movie bc she already knew what was about to happen
Well, it's a decision to market the film. "Red Eye" had the same conundrum. The studio could have marketed that film as a romantic comedy but the problem is at some point the Cillian Murphy character becomes threatening and menacing. You can't market the film as a romantic comedy anymore just to preserve the surprise because that's not what the movie is. Same here. If you make it look like a heist movie when it's actually a vampire horror comedy, the people who expected a heist movie will tell everybody not to watch it because they were expecting something else. If you market it as what it actually is (a vampire horror comedy) people know what to expect and are more likely to like the film they were actually expecting to see. I watched the trailer for "Abigail" before watching the movie so I knew what was going to happen and it was fun seeing the characters having no clue whatsoever until it was too late.

I’ve had my eyes on this one for a while because I loved Ready or Not and the SCREAM “requels”, and yeah, this looks like a blast. I remember reading that this was supposed to be tied to an existing character within the Universal Monsters IP, so, based on the trailer, it seems the rumors about said character being Dracula are true, but I’d love if it was its own original thing not attatched to any existing characters

Great movie! Totally recommend it. Well-directed and acted, good writing, and a fun concept. Saw someone warn about the trailer spoiling some stuff, so I stopped watching it; I'm glad I did. I get that they have to tell some stuff to inform people about the movie, but I find it more fun finding out what's going on organically. I'd probably give it a 7.5-8/10.

I love the concept of the movie’s premise. I’ve had my eyes on this movie for a while since I heard it was in development. It looks like the trailer for it is finally here. I’m definitely seeing it in the theater when it comes out

Terrific concept. But revealing she's a vampire in the trailer is a dead (or.. undead) giveaway. Vampires are terrifying predators because of how they are mistaken as humans. The confusion and terror in figuring out their true nature is the most horrifying element of the genre. So 5 adults screaming 'vampire' in a trailer is a big waste.
My bet: Giancarlo Esposito’s character knew the girl was a vampire and got the $50m from Rich Daddy to deliver her food (ie the rest of the cast).
Especially if rich daddy is Count Dracula.
With that big thing full of dead bodies? This is ABSOLUTELY their feeding ground.

I know not everyone liked Scream V and VI, but Radio Silence have yet to disappoint me. On top of that, the cast here is freaking stacked! I can't wait.
To be fair Scream has always been kinda weak as a slasher, not much you can do with that plot to begin with.

I am already intrigued by this film for the simple fact its premise is about wanna-be criminal masterminds who get a taste of karma in the worst way possible.
i've seen ever zombie / vampire movie ever made... this one was hilarious and full of nice kills! haha
I'm gonna check this out because it looks fun and I'm a fan of many of these actors as well as the directors...but GOD it could have been awesome to experience a lot of this in the theater first rather than the trailer. I feel like I even spotted a character death in there. I wish more studios would allow for subtle trailers especially when your story has some cool surprises and red herrings.

The ending with the “I hate ballet” guy covered in grime connected to the fact that the one girl was in the mucky water with the bodies gives me the vibe that we were shown the moments after the vampire girl is “defeated” which sucks. Sometimes I like the suspense that either side could win

I get what you guys are saying about the vampire thing, but let's consider one key factor: the tone of the movie.
We didnt know what the tone of the movie would be, this way the audience that would enjoy it know what theyre signing up for, otherwise the wrong audience goes in with the wrong expectations and there's actually a precedent of that not going well for the movie's standing.
Its kind of a tight rope thing, but im glad they showed the vampire reveal if that was their only way of selling the movie's tone, cause until then it just seemed generic.

Spyglass wanted to pump Scream 7 out immediately and Radio Silence wanted to do this one first. That’s why Spyglass hired London, RS didn’t want to leave from what I understand just wanted to do something else before returning to it 🤷🏻♂️

No it becomes extremely apparent that the girl vampire (likely much older than she looks) orchestrated the whole thing. The wealthy vampire trope is apparent here with her living in a lavish house, and likely having another property where she gathers down on their luck people to play with as food. It’s why there’s also a pit of rotting bodies in the same house. Also the reason why the people are locked in (by those she hires outside) and why the windows all board up (to prevent sunlight from fucking with her ‘playtime’). The kidnapping was a staged event that sets her play in motion.

Too bad Leslie is dead. Though he did a vampire flick parody, this one could work - Leslie, Gus, Saul... In the end it would turn out they all imagined this and were in fact held by Heisenberg and kept juiced to the gills on his blue azul.

Dan Stevens’ brilliant acting in The Guest and the series Legion is why I’m showing up for this. He needs to be in Tarantino, or Cohen Brothers films.

I never see a film after the trailer is released, some film trailers always show branching plot twists in the film, it becomes less tense when the audience knows the plot lines from the trailer, and this film is one of those that is good to watch without having to see the trailer first This is a good film with a horror thriller theme in the last three years that I have watched for the first time

I hope Abigail makes it in the end. I know, she’s a blood sucking vampire. But she’s still a little girl, and has so much potential! Abigail still has more life to live!
This is honestly my biggest issue with the film & why I think I’m gonna skip it bc I think we’re supposed to root against her & I don’t think that’s the right fake or approach to this story & I do not want to watch a film where a little girl is kidnapped, have to root against her, and root for people who are morally bankrupt enough to kidnap a child. They didn’t know she was a vampire when they agreed to kidnap her, so it feels like justice to me that she’s actually more powerful than them considering they preyed on a seemingly powerless child & were okay with it. I hope she gets them all tbh. They’re all bad in my opinion. I take bigger issues with ppl who kidnap little girls than vampire girls who eat their kidnappers. I don’t care if she orchestrated the entire thing to get to “play with her food”, that’s like basically How To Catch A Predator. Good for her for taking the initiative to stop them from possibly traumatizing other little girls. I don’t care if some of the kidnappers have like a tragic backstory of why they agreed to kidnap her. I’m not gonna root for them. I don’t want to. Abigail shouldn’t be the villain or antihero, she should be the hero. I don’t think she’s going to be & that makes me really uncomfortable because I feel like they had the chance to flip the script of damsel in distress, but they seem to be doing it in a bad way. It feels like some weird attempt to justify or minimize the bad actions of the people who kidnapped her & kinda validate this weird fetishization of little girls as damsels in distress bc “oh she’s actually evil she’s a vampire”. They’re evil too! She should be the hero of this story and I don’t think she’s going to be & I hate that! Let little girls be powerful heroes in these stories, not damsels in distress that securely turn out to be villains, I want them to turn out to vampire heroes! A little vampire girl eating a person who kidnapped her is awesome & good for her like we should celebrate it, not villainize it. I’m actually so mad. She should be the hero

Well, Kidnapping kids is never the Answer and maybe it could be nice to see in the film to reveal her father is the same as her Like when they say to him "Call off your daughter! Call her off!" Then he'll say "She's a big girl, I have no control over what she does", "Oh, and you better watch out", "I think she's extra hungry today", Then after it all he calmly asks her to come be in his arms after a “Rescue mission” Where he'll be all like "Come along, Abigail" And then she'll say "Yes, Daddy" And in the End he would be all like “Abigail, my darling daughter, You saved my business and my riches”

Seeing it this weekend, looks like bloody good fun and we wanted to see Angus Cloud in his last movie. 😪 Playing the 'Black Swan', music from Bela Lugosi Dracula movies and her being a Ballerina is priceless.

just, you know, stop looking at trailers. This has been an ongoing complaint for like 20 years now. Trailers gonna do what they do. If you don't want to know then just pick movies to watch based on their name or the poster or a short straw out of a jar. Movies aren't less enjoyable because you know the plot, if they were, there would never be any remakes or movie adaptations from other media, or genre movies that follow a basic plot.
