I think for me it's Metroid Federation. Yeah, not many people like it and were bummed out it wasn't a proper Metroid game in that universe. I enjoyed it a lot. It gets very difficult at the end but an awesome game to play with mates on a roadtrip.
I have the seiki u-vision cable, that I bought for $30 recently. It uses the same processor in it as the original m-cable, and performs similarly to it for hd content. I use it for my Wii U exclusively. Oddly though, the games look better, and with better anti-aliasing, if I set the Wii U’s native output to 720p. One major downside of this cable though, is that it will not work properly with 480p content. I tested it with both my Retrotink mini (that I use for my retro consoles) and the Wii U’s output set to 480p, but it crops off the far left side of the image, and ultimately freezes. The mclassic is definitely a better product than the seiki u-vision cable overall, but this other one is a decent, and more affordable option, in certain use cases. I've got the seiki u vision and classic as well. The seiki works great. Its cheaper too. The other benefit is the seiki cable upscale 1080p movies to 4k if u set ur video playback to 25hrz.
I have the mClassic and love it but i also have the $17 Sagemcom UP200 Gold cable that uses the Marseille VTV-1222 chip inside and it performe the same and give same results as the mClassic(but no 4:3 switch) so i would say i am more satified with Sagemcom because is was so cheap(but i should not complain about the mClassic price, i only paid $59 for my mClassic becouse i was a super early bird backer on the indiegogo) I have a video on my channel there i compare Sagemcom with the mClassic. I have no problem with 480p resolutions in fakt i mostly use it with 480p resolution from a N64 with Rad2x, GC with Carby and DC with Gekko.
@@OneMore1UP According to the packaging of my u-vision cable, it is supposed to support 480p as well. But in reality, I couldn’t get it to work properly with my Wii U set to 480p, my Retrotink mini, nor a cheap component to hdmi converter that was used with my old iscan pro line doubler. The u-vision has the same VTV-1222 chip inside as well, so idk why mine can’t handle 480p.

Funny story, a teenage nephew of mine come over to my house while I was playing BOTW a few days ago. He sat down for a few minutes and watched me play, then said that BOTW on my console looks a whole lot better than it does on his Switch 🤣
Another thing to note is this is most ideal for 6th and 7th generation consoles. It will not really do anything for ps4 and xbox one that those consoles cannot do better on their own (assuming you have a 4k ultra hd capable tv).
something I'd say, for the PS4 and Xbox One, it's game dependant, *some* games will benefit from the mclassic, like Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 for example, of course this is mostly talking about the base systems that don't have 4k capability, if it doesn't benefit the game too much on a 1080p screen, it will benefit the game on a 1440p screen.

I just paid 80 on Amazon and it looks freaking amazing on ps3 and 360 OMG the og Xbox through hyperkin and it cleans it up so much its crazy Def Jam looks crazy clean and plays so fast.
I use the MClassic on my Pixio 1440p monitor. It’s really an awesome product. For my Wii & PS2 setup. I do use Retrovision HD Cables for consoles & HDMI switcher. PS2: Retrotink 2X-Multiformat Wii: Component to HDMI converter.
@@RoXolid oh crap I made a typo. I use those cables for both systems XD But I actually use to a Monster Wii Component cable I got from the thrift store for $2, best $2 spent. And when I decided to get HD Retrovision cable for my Wii & hooked it up last year, I noticed immediately the quality was exactly the same as the Monster cable. I haven't done any comparisons. But the brightside is the Retrovision HD cables are shorter than my 10ft cable haha
17:10 I would eventually invest in a mClassic when my 720p 46" Samsung HDTV that I got secondhand dies, i.e. capacitor blowout or faded backlight - not even broken HDMI ports stopped me from tossing it. I bought a replacement mainboard just to restore HDMI functionality although soldering could have solved that if I only had connections to someone with those skillz
@@RoXolid other problems with my old HDTV: - motion blur and ghosting, most visible when the brightness is up or in "game mode", and when the background is a solid color - lines of dead pixels on the corner from not laying down the TV properly when opening it up to replace the mainboard - it fails the official HD Retrovision component cable test, but I can still use them - the 240p is just recognized as "480i"
I get that. I'm starting to have issues with the IR sensor in the Samsung in the game room, but other than that it's flawless. I'd like something else but I don't need it

All retro mode does is change the aspect ratio to 4:3 . All the same upscaling and AA filters are still on. If you play something retro that actually still has pixels and no smoothing pre-applied from your cables/mods you will see that in Pass Through you get the original pixels and in retro mode you get AA and all other filters. The only difference in the retro is 4:3
Thinking about using this with an hdmi scanline generator and a multi port hdmi switcher. The scanline generator has its issues like adding a hissing sound to silent moments in audio and blocking hdmi device link functions like One Touch Play but I'd like to think theoretically it should all be functional if I'm using hdmi 2.1 cables.
Those NES games look kind of wacky with this thing-like an HQ2X filter? I don't necessarily need super-sharp pixels, but I don't like smoothing pixels in old games so they look like a badly drawn cartoon.
Great explanations, I think I'll buy this device. Do you know if it works well in conjunction with retrotink2x? If you have a retrotink, could you make a video about the operation of the two devices?
@@RoXolid I used the solitaire setting (I think ) and hold the Left and Center parts of the controller for a more modern control feeling I just can't go back to the default setting for goldeneye 007 or the world is not enough 007 anymore. But I do love it for many other games I'll be testing more out later.

I use it on my N64 all the time, and as a shortcut to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 on my PS2, but I didn't like it on 2D games in general. And if you're a Retrotink 2x Pro or Multiformat user, do NOT use scanlines with this. For some reason, the mClassic doesn't play nice with the scanline filter on the Retrotink devices.
Got a question, I just got my Gamecube modded. Pluto2 HDMI of course. Is the Mclassic compatible with the P2 hardware? Im running the HDMI straight from the console to the 4K TV. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!! ❤👍

I have a Rad2X and this mClassic. I haven't tried N64 yet but I am sure it will work with it as well. I just need a Region free adapter piece and Resident Evil 2 or Star Fox 64. I have no games at all for it. I may just check out the N64 Everdrive clone from Ali-Express. I have had good luck in the past.
@@RoXolid Way to expensive for me unless it's going in something with batteries. I will try the China one. I have had great luck except today some battery for the Gameboy Color got jacked up 40$ at the last minute and I had to cancel the order because I noticed. They said they didn't and I had to change the reason to didn't want. I hope they put my money back. I usually never have problems. Just be careful and don't give them any major credit card. I use Green Dot. Just watch carefully so they don't pull fast ones on you. I was upset all night. I got the funny playing speaker instead. I am doing a OSD Gameboy Color kit.
@@RoXolid True though. Good looking out. I got the Japanese N64 on a lot that had a DOL-001 and Super Famicom all for a hundred. I Americanized the Gamecube and will do the N64 Next with the screw on thing inside. Just ordered a real Star Fox 64 and battery replacement and battery holder so if I ever have to do it again before I die it will be easier. The only other game I want is Resident Evil 2 so it will probably be real because I got a lot of two on holders and batteries.
I have a question, I’m using this for a ps4 slim, what settings should I put for the ps4 ? Resolution? deep color output on or off? and should I set the tv hdmi port to 1.4 or 2.0 to get the most out of the mclassic
You want to use the middle green position for the PS4, max out the resolution on the console, use HDMI 2.0 and deep color is a preference you can toggle on and off based on personal preference.
So I have a dedicated switch pinball cabinet,, I use a digital media player for a back glass videos and just keep the DMD on the playfield,, I bought one of these and didn’t notice any difference at all,, do you have any idea why

Here's the sad thing, and I have a PS5 so my mindset might be different if I didn't have one. there's nothing right now that is so amazing to play on the system to justify paying two and a half to three times what it's worth. If there was some groundbreaking game, maybe, but there's nothing right now.

You can never go too big at least that's what she said the Samsung TV that you see behind me in my game room here is a 60 in, my TV in the living room is a 75-in vizio. For me, TV size is more about the room that it's going to be in. I have a 50-in Samsung in my bedroom that feels massive
I have! The N64 footage you see in this video was going through my RetroTink2x Pro! I've also used it with my Saturn and my Super NES Junior going through my retro tank, they all look great. Oh, and my TurboGrafx16
Hi Gary, I have one for my Wii. I use it with a sewell wii2hdmi but i'd like to have a better source out from mi wii. I have the HD retrovision wii component cables. My problem is to know wich component2hdmi would be a good option. I have a very small budget so buy a retrotink or mod my wii is out of the scope. What converter would you recommend?
Those HDMI adapters for the we are kind of garbage. I would honestly recommend saving your money and going with a RetroTink Multiformat. it is the least expensive option that actually converts from component video to HDMI properly and does not introduce any lag. If you buy something cheaper, you're going to have lag, you're going to have other issues, and you're going to wish that you just spent the money on the RetroTink

Absolutely love my mClassic. Makes my Gamecube and PS2 games look way more crisp . My fav "bad game", DMC. That game got so much hate over the redesign of Dante. I freakin love that game! (and the name you're looking for is Plucky Duck)

I would say, this is really a bad review. First: you have done nothing with the picture at 6:28?...still the pixels are smoothed out...?? Second: you sit and praise mclassic when is on passthru mode and it do nothing, your resolution(640x304i, 640x340i) say everything at 13:0313:1013:45 When you feed the the mClassic with a interlaced signal the mClassic are not doing any thing withe picture(passthru mode) The mClassic only works with a progressive signal and as you using it you can just as well throw it in the trash. The diffrence beetwen mode 2 and 3(classic mode) is that is in mode 3 it change the aspect ratio 4:3, otherwise they are exactly the same and do the same.
So I'll address your points one by one here, hopefully it helps provide some clarity: This is captured off of my HDMI Modded NES Classic. Now as such I did take a look in my settings as someone else asked if there was a filter on, and I think it was the HQ2X or something, but this was on for all 3 versions demonstrated here. Coming off an HDMI Mod it's going to look sharper than a normal NES and this is how I normally have my NES set to display anyways. Secondly, to the best of my memory, the box doesn't indicate whether it does or does not do anything for interlaced signals, nor does the instruction slip sheet. That is what I based my information off of. If that's the case, that's something that Marseille should put in there. I did look on their site and you are correct, I was not aware of that and I appreciate you pointing that out. Finally, the way I interpreted the way Marseille described the Mode 2 and Mode 3 was that the Anti-Aliasing and other features were either not as prevelent or not turned on. I did not read that as simply an aspect ratio difference. If it really is just an aspect ratio switch I'd rather see them re-name it as such vs calling it "Retro Mode" as that implies something totally different
@@RoXolid fair answer, agree they should have been clearer with the info on the package, the info here on the indigoogo campaigne if you scroll down to video you see a sheet that shows what video signal do what and if you watch there videos the on youtube they say and inform that interlaced signals is only passing thru
so here's one of the things that I do regarding watching other videos on subjects that I'm going to do. I don't watch other people's videos. I don't want to have my views or opinions tainted by other people's thoughts views or opinions, and I also don't want to repeat something that someone else said. When I review an item, I am going in completely blind to what anybody else anywhere else may have said.
I get that, but that's also just something I avoid prior to reviewing a product. I try to go in blind, no pre-conceptions. Like day 1 patches, I think manufacturers either need to indicate on the product or in the manual if there's crucial product setup or use information that the end user needs. Stop expecting the customer to do the work for your product
The sequel trilogy is worse than hot garbage. The only Sci-Fi franchise that has been worse in just terrible storytelling has been Star Trek. From Discovery, Lower Decks, Picard and more, those are worse than the Sequel Trilogy. But the Sequel Trilogy is still garbage.

I think it works pretty well for 3D 480p and 720p content. Mostly I use it for my streaming box that accepts 1080p and 720p but not 480p.

Your results should be pretty similar regardless of which of those cables they use, they're both pretty quality

@@RoXolid I used the solitaire setting (I think ) and hold the Left and Center parts of the controller for a more modern control feeling I just can't go back to the default setting for goldeneye 007 or the world is not enough 007 anymore. But I do love it for many other games I'll be testing more out later.

I use it on my N64 all the time, and as a shortcut to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 on my PS2, but I didn't like it on 2D games in general.
And if you're a Retrotink 2x Pro or Multiformat user, do NOT use scanlines with this. For some reason, the mClassic doesn't play nice with the scanline filter on the Retrotink devices.

How do you connect the mclassic with the Prism? Do you recommend that combo with the gamecube?
You go GameCube to Prism, Prism to mClassic, mClassic to TV. I don't think there's that much of an improvement, but I know others who swear by it

I have a Rad2X and this mClassic. I haven't tried N64 yet but I am sure it will work with it as well. I just need a Region free adapter piece and Resident Evil 2 or Star Fox 64. I have no games at all for it. I may just check out the N64 Everdrive clone from Ali-Express. I have had good luck in the past.

@@RoXolid Way to expensive for me unless it's going in something with batteries. I will try the China one. I have had great luck except today some battery for the Gameboy Color got jacked up 40$ at the last minute and I had to cancel the order because I noticed. They said they didn't and I had to change the reason to didn't want. I hope they put my money back. I usually never have problems. Just be careful and don't give them any major credit card. I use Green Dot. Just watch carefully so they don't pull fast ones on you. I was upset all night. I got the funny playing speaker instead. I am doing a OSD Gameboy Color kit.

@@RoXolid True though. Good looking out. I got the Japanese N64 on a lot that had a DOL-001 and Super Famicom all for a hundred. I Americanized the Gamecube and will do the N64 Next with the screw on thing inside. Just ordered a real Star Fox 64 and battery replacement and battery holder so if I ever have to do it again before I die it will be easier. The only other game I want is Resident Evil 2 so it will probably be real because I got a lot of two on holders and batteries.
I have a question, I’m using this for a ps4 slim, what settings should I put for the ps4 ? Resolution? deep color output on or off? and should I set the tv hdmi port to 1.4 or 2.0 to get the most out of the mclassic
You want to use the middle green position for the PS4, max out the resolution on the console, use HDMI 2.0 and deep color is a preference you can toggle on and off based on personal preference.
So I have a dedicated switch pinball cabinet,, I use a digital media player for a back glass videos and just keep the DMD on the playfield,, I bought one of these and didn’t notice any difference at all,, do you have any idea why

Here's the sad thing, and I have a PS5 so my mindset might be different if I didn't have one. there's nothing right now that is so amazing to play on the system to justify paying two and a half to three times what it's worth. You can never go too big at least that's what she said the Samsung TV that you see behind me in my game room here is a 60 in, my TV in the living room is a 75-in vizio. For me, TV size is more about the room that it's going to be in. I have a 50-in Samsung in my bedroom that feels massive

I have! The N64 footage you see in this video was going through my RetroTink2x Pro! I've also used it with my Saturn and my Super NES Junior going through my retro tank, they all look great. Oh, and my TurboGrafx16

Hi Gary, I have one for my Wii. I use it with a sewell wii2hdmi but i'd like to have a better source out from mi wii. I have the HD retrovision wii component cables. My problem is to know wich component2hdmi would be a good option. I have a very small budget so buy a retrotink or mod my wii is out of the scope. What converter would you recommend?
Those HDMI adapters for the we are kind of garbage. I would honestly recommend saving your money and going with a RetroTink Multiformat. it is the least expensive option that actually converts from component video to HDMI properly and does not introduce any lag. If you buy something cheaper, you're going to have lag, you're going to have other issues, and you're going to wish that you just spent the money on the RetroTink

Absolutely love my mClassic. Makes my Gamecube and PS2 games look way more crisp . My fav "bad game", DMC. That game got so much hate over the redesign of Dante. I freakin love that game! (and the name you're looking for is Plucky Duck)

I would say, this is really a bad review.
First: you have done nothing with the picture at 6:28?...still the pixels are smoothed out...??
Second: you sit and praise mclassic when is on passthru mode and it do nothing, your resolution(640x304i, 640x340i) say everything at 13:03 13:10 13:45
When you feed the the mClassic with a interlaced signal the mClassic are not doing any thing withe picture(passthru mode)
The mClassic only works with a progressive signal and as you using it you can just as well throw it in the trash.
The diffrence beetwen mode 2 and 3(classic mode) is that is in mode 3 it change the aspect ratio 4:3, otherwise they are exactly the same and do the same.
So I'll address your points one by one here, hopefully it helps provide some clarity:
This is captured off of my HDMI Modded NES Classic. Now as such I did take a look in my settings as someone else asked if there was a filter on, and I think it was the HQ2X or something, but this was on for all 3 versions demonstrated here. Coming off an HDMI Mod it's going to look sharper than a normal NES and this is how I normally have my NES set to display anyways.
Secondly, to the best of my memory, the box doesn't indicate whether it does or does not do anything for interlaced signals, nor does the instruction slip sheet. That is what I based my information off of. If that's the case, that's something that Marseille should put in there. I did look on their site and you are correct, I was not aware of that and I appreciate you pointing that out.
Finally, the way I interpreted the way Marseille described the Mode 2 and Mode 3 was that the Anti-Aliasing and other features were either not as prevelent or not turned on. I did not read that as simply an aspect ratio difference. If it really is just an aspect ratio switch I'd rather see them re-name it as such vs calling it "Retro Mode" as that implies something totally different

Like day 1 patches, I think manufacturers either need to indicate on the product or in the manual if there's crucial product setup or use information that the end user needs. Stop expecting the customer to do the work for your product
