I never really tried either (N64 was my first home console). However, Advantage seems to be better regarded. Max is conceptually a good idea, but many have complained about the disc pad.
@@RoXolidI've never used it but the disc not centering does look like a problem. Other than that I think that it would work great for games where you need to do circular motions like vertical school and shooters which can kind of be a pain on a d-pad after a while.
@@bland9876 No, it's no problem. You have to press down on the disc to actually get it to trigger. It's like a normal D-pad with a piece of round plastic on top. The plastic can move around freely without creating any input until you press in a direction. I can imagine it might be easier for doing Haduken in Street Fighter, but it'd make the Z-movements for eg shoryuken more difficult. Not that there was Street Fighter on the NES, now I think of it.
Not even close. I started working side jobs as soon as I could, I Was a busboy at 12 years old, I cattied, I worked long care and landscaping jobs, I worked my ass off. But thanks for playing.

Very cool!
Always wanted to try the max. I think its joystick dpad hybrid is pretty interesting and they were definitely onto something.
I grew up with less means. So we had the normal nes controllers. I did see an advantage once though. Lol
What about the PowerGlove?
I myself have only ever used the original controller.
Not made by Nintendo, but even so I hated it
@ you and me both.
My cousin had the advantage, but we usually used the original controllers
I always preferred the NES advantage when playing the MegaMan games
If the Max had a real D-pad it would've been perfect.
I know a lot of people hated the disc, I never minded it
