This is from exmuslim879 who examines Qur'anic quotes and verses from the Koran or Quran. We are going to look at these quotes compared to the claims of many Muslims that this proofs that Muhammad knew about things that later became scientific facts, but the science and Islamic text does not really mix.
Scientific ERRORS in the Quran. There has recently been claims of "scientific miracles" in the Quran. But let's put these claims up for debate. Are any of these claims true?
SubhanAllah! Last year I was struggling with doubts of Allah being alone, but I would go to bed, put on headphones, and listen to the Quran.

3. Vedic SCIENCE:
- Rig Veda 1.84.15: “The moving moon always receives a ray of light from sun”
- “O, Bright sun, a chariot named harit with seven horses takes you to sky” (Rig Ved 1/50/8) -> {referring to the 7 rays of light in sunlight}
- Rig Veda 5.40.5: “O Sun! When you are blocked by the one whom you gifted your own light (moon), then earth gets scared by sudden darkness.” {solar eclipse}
As an oblate spheroid Earth's equator circumference (circle shaped) is greater than pole-to-pole one(elliptic).
With prolate spheroid (eggs), if it's inclined to 90°, the equatorial circumference is still greater than polar one, BUT their shape differ: equatorial one is elliptic and polar one is circular.
So you cannot compare Earth to an egg.
Masya'Allah! May Allah bless you with rewards! Those people who thought they found contradictions or scientific errors in Quran missed things.
But the main problem for them is; even some scientists found Quran has a precise accuracy for scientific facts!!

when i was primary six,we learn that the sun is not moving in science but then when my father recite surah yasin and translate it about the sun is moving.i was argue with my dad.and 2 years later,i found the article that the sun is moving orbiting the milkyway.MASYA ALLAH

And I would like to confirmed about the earth word in quran, its mentioned in Quran in diff places, and all mentioned on the video that u made ur respond on, means the piece of ground or the straight part of land. I hope from the people who try to understand quran to read the commentary version which had a clarification of many issues, not only translated version
The Prophet did say he was overcome at one point by evil for a very short while. This shows to me that the Prophet is true as no Muslim would want to see any weakness in the Prophet. It goes to show he is human and not proud.

@gmcjetpilot The eloquency and beauty of the Qur'an is respected by Muslim and non-Muslims alike. I am proud that many Islamic philosophers, scientists and mathmatecians sought inspiration from the Qur'an during the Middle Ages when most of Europe was under Christendom. It was after the Prophet's passing was knowledge from other civilisations such as the Greek, Persians etc were preserved and used.)

Ok so this could in a poetic scene mean anything. And considering how many ways a word can be translated from arabic to english that verse could just have been aimed towards something else, but what do i know. Also, isnt it kind of strange to call the speed of light "slow"? The universe is expanding at an enormous rate that we cant even begin to fathom. Who in their right mind would call the speed of light slow?

39 :5 it is said that he wraps the day over the night and vice versa it has nothing to do with the earth and we say wrap a book even though it is not spherical and the verse gives a geocentric view read it and see and says nothing of the rotation of the earth which 3rd i have heard sura I WONT BE REPLYING ANY MORE YOU MAY REPLY TO THIS . @CYBERJITH Because the Quran is a book of S I G N S not S C I E N C E. The quran says it's spherical in an indirect way.
The quran is a book of guidance, the scientific verses helps people to understand that the quran is the word of Allah.
Almost after each scientific verse, Allah says, "This is a sign for the ones who can think". A
@CYBERJITH No, if someone quotes somebody else that doesn't mean the quoter does agree with it. Somehow when it comes to islam and quran you think the opposite, you claim that everything that's quoted is spoken as truth by God.
2nd, that verse about a carpet was not talking about the earth but about land. How he spread the land just like a carpet, because if God willed, he could set mountains everywhere.
If you just could search islam in stead of searching misconceptions about islam.
@CYBERJITH Why do you think it's misguiding when he says in several verses that the earth is not flat, like in surah 39:5 , where the word 'wraps' is used. As when you wrap a taco or a turban around a head which is round. People had to know that Allah was meaning that the earth is not flat.
Allah is not making it easy,the verses are not that simple, they are signs. If you believe that there is a god, then islam has the extremist evidence you will ever see, i swear.

And what is that supposed to show? First of, mountains do move, they grow and corrode. Ever heard of continental drift? Whole mountains have been destroyed from underneath by magma that over time built pressure only to blow a huge amount of it to pieces. But if i misunderstood that verse please explain.

@Arsehel i am not telling it to prove anything all i am telling is that when it talks about the sun setting in murky water it could give a SIGN that the earth goes around the sun or when it talks about the earth being stretched or carpet like it could give a SIGN that it is spherical if it tells of the bigbang why wouldn't it tell these simple things, these things were not known so it was not told

I got the quran next to me and I'm quran reciter. With all due respect you guys are miss-translating the Quran. Stop doing that, this is very disrespectful for the muslims, as it is our belief. You chose to be athiests and none believers we did not force you to because you had the freedom to be this as muslims have the freedom to believe.

@proudfemale yes you do...because fasting is practised by all major religions and circumcision by both Muslims and Jews (and btw even Jesus (peace be upon him) was also circumcised). And please stop being so boringly sarcastic...ramadhan is practised in europe and north america easily so God did in fact cater for those in the 'northern regions' Also, what about nutritional requirement for girls (yes,,,you forgot to mention them)...these requirements are met albeit in a different matter

I respectfully disagree sir. I would say that science is the only appropriate thing to compare with Islam. I would say Islam is the study of Allah and Science is the study of the how Allah does his work.
Youd' think that Allah would have a little more intellectual power than to tell Muhammed that the earth is "egg shaped". My first grade teacher would have been fired if she taught us such a poor and innaccurate metaphor.

Funny. Like in all "holy" books there are TONS of extremely vague notions of things that can be interpreted in so many ways and thus its so easy to label it as scientific since it can be interpreted as anything basicly. I mean why would an all knowing and all-powerful deity even want to be so vague? Seems kinda malicious to me to make a book that can be interpreted in sooo many ways and then send the ones who interpreted it wrong to some kind of hell. Seems kind of human to me, not godlike.
I do NOT hate JEWS/CHRISTIANS and nearly all Muslims includng the Prophet belive this. I frankt;y believe all righteous Jews and Christians are Muslims, those who believe in the Unity of God. respect the Prophets and Message of God and who practised the teachings in their books as well as possible.

Ramadhan is not pagan, fasting has been and is practised by Jews, Christians and nearly all religions. U get to paradise not from matyrdom! it's ur deeds that what Islam guarantees. Bombers and terrorists are not martyrs and the eternal life is not sex and wine it is to be with God. I'm sure CHristians belived in the same thing until they decided the hell depicted by the Bible is too harsh and heaven and hell became figurative metaphors of being with or without Jesus.

@fuckrussianz Well i doubt they could vary that much. The thing about scientific explenations is that they cant be made with a few words/centences. If you want a scientific explenation on something you will have to read a whole set of articles/papers on the subject. Sure it would have been extraordinary if the quran in detail explained a complex event. But as far as i know its all rather vague. (more in next comment)

2nd what i meant was when the quran describes about the earth why not tell its spherical it could have been very useful , it could have been a clear sign all i am saying is that god is an extreme cliam and it requires extreme evidence
@gmcjetpilot Finally the Qur'an is not a science book where all the facts are shown. Countless times God says that He wishes us to see His Signs...the Qur'an gives guidance to what these signs are...and He wishes us to explore think and ponder. The Qur'an speaks on many different levels for different people at different times. It has resulted in countless conversions and wll continue to do so, God Willing. I hope there is hope 4 all of us including to see the Truth.

I would like any1 to show me a better man than the Prophet (SAW). He was an example to all mankind and the progress and peace he brought into the world is apparent. I am sure Jesus' second coming will reveal to Muslims and Christians the truth. Jesus' teachings are little followed for he has been idolised, (many of his discples didn't worship him).

My religion is a way of life not a cult. Christians do not follow all the teachings of Jesus unlike Muslims strive to do. I worship God not Mecca. Islam has been before Christianity and Judaism according to what Muslims believe. I dont expect u to agree as a Christian. u shud say Hajj predate the Prophts coming, it's not pagan cos we don;t worship it, we are following the practice of Abraham and Ishmael.

Reliability is shown by evidence of no contradiction which the Qur'an doesn't have unlike the Bible, in which the Old and New Testaments do not concomitantly make complete sense. An resorting to insulting another religion's book...u transgress to far. In Islam we learn of tolerance and respect for the Bible and the Qur'an.
