Amazing composer, musician, improviser, and beautiful lady inside and out. So glad I discovered her music on TH-cam, just knocks my socks off every time!
Saw the three of them live at the Knight Concert Hall in Miami in front of 2,200 people. They got a standing ovation for 10 minutes at the end. Had to come back for another session. These might be the three best musicians on the planet. As a graduate myself of Berklee College of Music, I'm convinced that Hiromi is the best pianist anywhere. And she's still quite young.
I'm in love with this woman... What she says is so true, every single word she pronounces is about passion and devotion and dedication. She knows what is important in life, and she lives it to the fullest. I am a true admirer of her personnality, her work and her life, and fucking jealous I must say ^^.
I think that's the Sonoma DSD system used by Michael Bishop to record the music. So far all eight Hiromi albums were released on SA-CD (which is basically like having the DSD master in your hand), the first five albums available in 6 channel and the later three albums in stereo single layer SA-CD's (meaning you can't play those on regular CD player). Anyway, technicalities aside, the latest album Alive has not come out on SA-CD. So yeah, Hiromi mentions here that she appreciates people taking the time from their lives to come hear her live in concert. Mind you, I am planning to do the same March 15 (2015). It's not only the time though. It's also money. I bought quite a few autographed Alive CD's to give away as gifts (to people who are unlikely to listen even a minute of it), eight SA-CD albums (can't get a hold of the Beyond Standard SA-CD version for some reason), and to play back all of these I had to purchase the whole Sony ES-series multichannel SA-CD system. And that's all for one reason: Hiromi's music.
Le trio Project nous propose un jazz d'une extraordinaire créativité. Fascinant ! 👏👏👏💚 Merci de tant de beautés et d'étonnements !

She is not only an amazing musician but her humility, her willingness to explore and get better, and her love of music and people are outstanding.

I'm looking forward to her new album. I love her music. But why do we have to wait until March of 2013 to get this released in the states?
