This is the image song of Nintendo's not so famous video game series Densetsu no Stafy. This song is a rare find. There are 4 different versions of this song excluding the video game instrumentals. The 1st by BECKY, the 2nd by Kazuki Saya (the full version of hers is impossible to find, I'm going to try my best to get the CD), a 50 second version by Perfume, and the 4th one by a group called C-UTE.

Behold the most underrated game series ever. Tragically beautiful.
I couldn't describe it better. It's all Nintendo's fault for releasing it when the generation of legendary Nintendo games were way past over. And their excuse for not releasing the other games seems very sketchy
I would say NiGHTS is the most underrated, but they're both in the same league. Both are also overshadowed by it's more mainstream equivalent, Kirby and Sonic, respectively. I hope they both get more love soon. (At least NiGHTS has an excuse for not releasing more games, with Starfy it's just cruelty lol)
I tried emailing the company that makes Stafy if they can make more, and they said they aren't allowed to make more unless Nintendo asks them personally

I remember years ago I read that Nintendo thought the games were "too Japanese" for the North American audience. I really fail to understand how a bunch of sea creatures going through ocean levels is "too Japanese", they were even afraid that children wouldn't know what dumplings were when they released the 5th game in NA. If it was a huge problem they could've just Americanized some stuff, that really was common back in the late 90's early 2000's
im lucky i got the ds game when i was really young, otherwise i probably would have no idea what starfy is. quite sad it isn't well known in NA

The term "Stafy" is because of the romajii (how it's pronounced in Japanese, since "R" can't be pronounced), so it can be Starfy or Stafy either way, but this is why the American release calls him Starfy. The name changes I complain about are all the English names since it's Americanized to death, like Moe the Clam and Bunston. Starly is a Pokemon's name and seemed like they pulled it out last minute, Stapy/Starpy sounds cuter in my opinion
What do you mean that "R" can't be pronounced? I have watched a lot of anime, and I know that there are characters with "R" in their names.
Their R is pronounced differently from our R.

japan can’t pronounce the “er” sound in the “R” they can mostly pronounce it if the R is the first letter or before a vowel

He really is X3 You'd even find him cuter if you heard his voice, he's actually voiced by Satomi Kōrogi Pichu's voice actress. The other characters are adorable too, I personally like Kyorosuke the Clam the best, and his sister Stapy (Starly in the English version) is just adorable (but she's really tough compared to her brother.)
Ughhh I know right!? People only say that because they're either ignorant or they're just the kind of people that like to call everything a rip off, I've been a huge Kirby fan all my life (especially the anime series) and I don't see any resemblance. The gameplay isn't even the same at all, the characters have a lot more development and personality, and it can be really sad! :c

The fifth game is on the DS as "The Legendary Starfy". It's literally just a translation of the first game's title xD You can also play all of the others even if their in Japanese because the GBA is not region locked.

I've only played the 5th game since it's the only one in English, I'd play the rest but you have to know what they're saying (there is A LOT of dialogue) or else the game will be hard. Judging from the 5th game it's easy but really fun, but I honestly didn't like the storyline in that one or the character designs. But other than that it's a pretty fun game, you should check it out, it's available on the DS. Ironically Starfy got me in to My Melody because episode 42 was in the suggestions! XD

I honest think the 5th game in the series was the worst. It just didn't have the emotion and charm the first 4 games had. Not to mention i HATED the puppet look. If the series does come back, i want the old designs back.
