There is a channel on SLINGTV called Homeful that shows all of mikes shows. And I mean ALL! I have been binging some from the first season onward... It might be on other stream platforms as well. Its mentioned in the podcast at the bottom when it talks about cottage life.
I remember those New Orleans days when you guys were rebuilding homes down there. I was in college in Hattiesburg, Miss. I would go down to N.O. with my buddies and we had so much fun---AT NIGHT LOL. Getting tickets to The Warehouse on Tchopitoulas St. watching all the great bands that came through there-Allman Brothers Hendrix Mountain white-haired Johnny Winter etc etc. We slept in Jackson Square Park every night if we didn't have hotel money. Those were the good ol' days!! 😀😀
Such an amazing group of people. This is Family in a pure form. Wonderful to learn some of the "minutia" behind the things I've watched since (and before) coming across "Homes Inspections" and "Holmes on Homes". It gives me genuine smiles.
I live in the USA & watch your videos on Homeful on the TH-cam channel! To Michael & Sherry it's so nice to see both of you working with your father doing home renovations that other contractor's MESS up big time & the INSPECTOR'S
I loved this video. I enjoy watching all the good you did for the homeowners who had been so abused. What joy it must be to have your son and daughter still involved! God has certainly blessed your lives of giving. May HE continue.
I Have watched every episode of holmes on homes, holmes inspection, Etc I truly believe that i have learned so much from the shows. Now on homeful and youtube i watch them all . Mike Holme Senior you are an icon of construction. Take care guys
Great. Blog Mike Michael and Sherry, was awesome to see you all again. I think a good show would be building a house for Sherry, and have contractors from the past come on as guest contractors . Finish the whole show then tell Sherry it's hers. Xxxxx😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Listening to Michael talk about his experiences working with his Dad... being the gopher and learning the trades... reminded me of my start too. My old man taught me a lot... just like Mike taught Michael. I'm 57 years old now... and I have a career in which I use ALL of the knowledge my old man (and a lot of other people) gave me. Dad died in 2016... but there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. Dad taught me not only how to do things... but why. He instilled in me a work ethic that has served me well in my life... just like Mike has done for Michael and Sherry. I love watching Holmes on Homes... miss it.
Mike learned a lot from the your terrific show enjoyed watching yourself & Crew helping people with mager structural problems with there Homes & fixing all those problems & How grateful those people were when you showed them what all was done & enjoyed all the different trades men & women that also came on site to correct all the problems with the house, what a great show to watch Best wishes in your future
I love watching Holms on Holms. I use to watch you with my dad. Always watched. I learned some stuff. I am a 44 yr old female too. Along on watching you and my father teaching me, Ive helped with my bathroom. I caught my dad off guard and he did something i was like hey that isn't how Mike would do that, measure it again. LOL
I grew up 100 miles West of New Orleans. I was impressed by how the crew handled the weather. It's not just the heat, it is the crazy humidity. Where I live now is hotter in the summer, but that Gulf Coast humidity is suffocating. I know the camera crew had to wait for a while after going outside from air-conditioned rooms for their lenses to de-fog. Been there, done that.
I think one of the best I have seen on You Tube in Australia, was when you did the renovation / fixes for the deaf person. That was great, the innovation etc for them.
Hi Mike! I just saw your 10th anniversary special on TV and thought it was recent, haha. You're still serving others, mentally sharp and lookin young, may God bless you and your family!
Several months ago, I watched the whole Katrina series. We need that now in the mountains of my beautiful North Carolina after Hurricane Helene. There are villages and small towns that are GONE! So many people lost (much more than anything MSM says). It will take decades to rebuild. I know Mike and the crew could make a huge difference. You want to travel? Here's a place that has overwhelming natural beauty and down-to-earth, hard-working people who have been there for generations, and now they're in what looks like a Hollywood production of a Stephen King movie. Not even close to a joke. Mike, we desperately need your help. 🙏❤️🙏
Having Mike and his team in NC would be an incredible feat and it is so needed. The politics of how and why the people are still living in tents is criminal but knowing Mike and his team are there to give them a permanent home again is life changing. I pray this happens for the NC people in need.
Still watching at 87 this anazing family create doing what is right the first time, while teaching all of us on subjects likw mold, never wood on concrete structure, plumbing, electrical, roofing...you name it and Mike and his family do what we should have know: DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME AND YOU WON;T HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN (P.S. I was #367 on this pix!)
You are the man,the Legend and one of God creation,Bless on Earth,no matter what, there's no one like you out there, one of the kind. YOUR THE BEST IN THE WORLD 🌎
I get where Michael is coming from. I've had two bathroom contractors give me the "I don't wanna" price because I know too much. One refused to move the tub when we were already enlarging the bathroom. They said it's too much work to move the plumbing and laughed when I told them I wanted it all ripped out and redone anyway. Drains are Galv to cast iron, supply is a spaghetti factory of copper. The washer is a copper drain to cast iron that leaks from the boot if it gets plugged. So many times I end up doing it myself not because I want to but because I cannot find somebody willing to go as far as I want.
Please make more "Make it right" type shows! We watch and learn from all your past shows and rewatch them often. Make some current, inspection/repair/build shows for TH-cam. Please! Where can I watch "Cottage Life" in the US?
The shows on Cottage Life are on a channel in the US called Homeful. I watch it as part of the SLINGTV package.. it might be available on other platforms as well.
Enjoyed watching your shows. Wish you could come to Minnesota to build my house. The contractors here are charging $300 a square foot! We are moving to a house built in the 40’s. We are hoping to build or redo the old small house. God bless your crew.
My father and I were never close. He always doing stuff with my older brother which always made me feel alone. As I grew up I learned a little everything your father is supposed to teach you on my own. I would have to hide to watch my father do things so I can learn how to do the same. I’m 41 years old now and now my father calls me up to teach him or tell him how to do something.
I felt the same way about tape measures. My dyslexia kicked my butt in fractions in school. By the way I find it a shock that Mike is not very much younger than me. Lol
i would love to hear about your impact on the construction industry in Canada and how your company has changed it since the beginning with the bad inspectors to the current about weeding out bad contractors
My dad and I were close and he taught me how to sew by hand draft patterns cut them out and use a machine you had to turn the handle once I got the hang of that he plugged in the power and taught me again on the same machine. mum, on the other hand, cooked anything and everything. My other siblings can do all that in the kitchen me I can wash dishes
@mike Holmes Like all shows u make and the day you finally step away, gonna be sad day for us all…..so don’t do that till least 95 yrs old, than it’s okay! Podcast…..stories, can listen to you all for hours about stories of the Reno’s and behind scenes stuff that happens that is boring for tv, but plays big part in making the tv….love to hear
I have started watching the old shows when everybody looked so young. I just watched the one that you had to tear down and start over with a new foundation. Did that contractor ever watch what a mess he made? I think I have watched everything that aired in the US at least once.
The first minute of this video made me LOL. I drove my parents nuts, because I took apart everything they bought me. I ended up being an artist and photographer, but I've always loved building things. Age caught up to me, and I have to do much less ambitious projects, now. My most recent project was replacing a fence that blew down in a storm. The new one might survive a tornado. My house will be gone, but that fence will be standing.
Way back when you started on tv you've had a lot of people work for you. Have you ever thought of getting all of them together and reminiscing about the old days.
First 2 minutes sounds an awful lot like how I grew up hahaha .. I had that black belt in Nintendo and really had no interest in construction at all, definitely pulled back from it. Now ... I'm a contractor myself. 🤷😂 I do have a 3yr old daughter who as I was fixing her rocking chair last night was right in there "I can help you fix it (her toy tools in hand)."
What about the neighborhood with the Holmes approved homes being torn down, families moved out for year long fixes? And the house you bought there and sold because it was a hot mess?
My husband hated me watching the shows. I would call him out on things ... I would ask, can't we do it this way? He ignored me. Then I would see show and tell him... SEE. lol This is someone who paints the top of baseboards, the wall colour (instead of baseboard colour). If you want to be a lazy painter, hire someone.
Hi Mike. Did you compensate them people you recommended and advertised you personally recommend these new homes. You know the ones they are currently knocking down. I learned a lot from your shows. You was a personal hero. Not so much anymore

It is so true, you get back what you give totally applies to this family.
New Orleans was one of the best representation of what it means to be Canadian and most importantly who you are as a person.

Could you talk more about the locations you worked in around the Toronto area? (Halton Hills too) cheers!

Drop-dead gorgeous Sherry Holmes!!! 😍🥰😘😍I would love dating her but unfortunately I'm old enough to be her grandfather. 😞😞
When screwing sheet rock I tape a couple of my fingers with electrical tape. I have several X shaped scars on my finger tips.
I have been to Jordan, Egypt, Saudi, Kuwait and Iraq
