The only thing I hate about the updated models of Tata is the all touch-based gloss center console. Buttons are tactile and doesn't need a serious attention of the driver to be worked with. Touch based controls that give no feedback when touched upon was a particularly bad idea. Maybe, Tata can learn from Hyundai and give a combination of button/touch with feedback on the center console.
Exactly. Idk why everyone is going mad over it. I mean, in Europe this happened ages ago, and most manufacturers are now switching back to proper buttons, or at least proper haptics rather than some stupid vibrations.
@@noice8674that is major problem .. half of the time there is noise and half of the time it doesnot work as expected .. a Simple tactile button or knob would does the job and no one will have to take off the sight from the road ..
Buy Tata first, then talk. I have had a Tata Safari Decor for the last 12 years, and their after-sales service is superb. The Tata team has been very supportive with pickup and drop service and maintenance scheduling. So, Tata is the best
When other companies were trying to dominate Tata, tata was preparing themself to bang them all like a tank. What a transformation Tata.. though i dont own it, but iam proud of you
I was biggest critique of hydraulic steering. Thank god .. finally .. electric is here .. hope in gold edition they offer both tilt and telescopic adjustment.
It is a big disappointment and surprise that Tata engineers could not remove such a small flaw that the driver's knee hits the dashboard, which is quite serious.
I somehow feel they’ve botched up the aggressive looks of the Harrier, which really made it stand out. The front design of the old Harrier was the USP of the Car. This is very Hyundaish, very confusing, too much cuts & creases. The beast look has gone for a toss.
All the Future designs of TATA will be EV oriented with better aerodynamics. Gone are the days where SUVs looked macho. Upcoming designs will be subtle and futuristic.
Bhai, I have the 2020 Harrier Dark Edition Top Model. Ye kaunsi problems bata rahe ho 😂 maine to aaj tak aisa kuch face nahi kiya. Have the Crysta Touring Sport and Legender, and this car equals the superior comfort of the Crysta. Went to Jodhpur from Gurgaon in Jan, and drove the Crysta till Kishangarh, and the Harrier till Ajmer. Unrivalled experience. Bc Legender to race me hi nahi hai. The only qualms I have with this car is the infotainment system [looks kinds outdated], and that Handbrake [just that the cup holders become problematic to use]. Baaki to sab superb hai. Aur jahan tak bat touch controls ki hai, bhai Siri aur Bixby bhi itna hi time leti hai kaam karne me. What matters is that they're able to register and understand what has been said to them. Itni tagdi gaadi bana di. XUV, Seltos wagera to kuch bhi nahi hai iske saame.
I hope they solved the niggles which plagued the pre-facelift version. And the lack of a petrol engine and awd is a bit of a bummer. But otherwise this is a very good facelift and makes the Harrier much more desirable
Certainly Tata does come up with the advance feature loaded cars making them Cars of the Future. But sadly they are still not going into the Petrol version and bit of improvement in the After Sales Service at Service Centre is the need of the hour.
I am really surprised why TaMo is not correcting the ergonomics of the dash touching the knees if the driver who’s around 6 feet. If “arithmetic” (that the proportion of such customers is not material enough), is the only reason then no one would have built ramps for wheelchairs
Why is tata doing away with physical buttons?? I’ve been looking forward to the new harrier but. On unpredictable indian roads where even having 4 eyes is less, now you need to look at the panel to select or change functions. Thats just dangerous.
Harrier weighs 1700kg + without any load because of solid build. Hybrid for now is limited to light cars with 1100kg around load and that too feels low in power.
‘Increase blower speed, please!’ So polite! Great review as always. The car looks great. But unless they can fix their quality and ergonomics…Look at the absurd place for the phone! Were they not thinking??
Tbh after my safari broke down at 25k kms and just 20 months life and didn’t start again, the dealership people are yet to say what has happened shows how Tata is a unreliable brand and how their service is still bad. The looks are a facade inside its still a waste of 28 L for me
Tata's are quite behind in technology compared to M&M. They know the specs of XUV700 AX7L the top of the line. It has so many advanced features like pentalink independent rear suspension, AWD, Headlamp booster and the likes. These are existing in the market since 2 years. Yet these features are missing in the latest offering from Tata.
Hey Nikhil, great review as always. Not sure if it's in the offing, but I'd like to see long-term reliability testing on some of these cars as well. Maybe report back after 3-6 months of a review?
Given Tata has so many variants which stretch across a very wide price range, I'd request Autocar to include the changes in interiors across the variants as well. Maybe the interior could be filmed as a Tata showroom - I understand you guys can only use the car you get for the media drive.
Big thumbs up for bringing up the refinement concern. Thats the biggest bummer for Tata cars and a shame that its carried over here as well. For someone who loves engine this is a big red flag.
Tata is the best recently I met a major accident in my Tata Harrier and we all suvived without a scratch. Tata is the best. Will always buy Tata car now onwards.
Filled with features and technology now and new colours look good. JB L power system, interior, seats , and steering wheel are nice. The Dark Edition will look killer ❤
Very nice, the background music is kept at a very low volume, easy on our ears and helps to focus on the review. Keep this standard for all reviews. In many reviews the music used to go overboard, jarring and makes it difficult to follow the review.
Tata Harrier Fearless+ AT vs Jeep Compass Limited 4x2 AT. which1 is best? Considering: - wud keep for 8-10 years - average running is 8k/year mostly in Pune - 15-20 long-short highway trips yearly - my wife's height is ~5 ft We like Jeep compass because of its look, size, safety but are hesitant because of - doubt on Jeep long term presence in India - high maintenance & part cost (nt sure) - no 360 camera and ADAS We liked the new harrier in many aspects but again - It's cost is just 2-2.5 lakhs below compass - Premiumness, fit & finish not great as Compass - size is still bigger especially width (practical for city/traffic?) Kindly share your valuable thoughts
Lacks CLASS! This is what separates ur Audi, BMW, Merc and Volvo from the rest. We know they are luxury brands, but how do u bring that luxury feel to ur customer at a lower price? That's what Tata and Mahindra have to figure out. When u buy a car, u should FEEL IT!
Just saw all the reviews. The new Harrier looks and performs very well altogether with that EPS and some good-to-have features. These make it a more VFM product, while also depending on the updated prices. I still have a few nitpicks and problems with the updated Harrier: No Physical Music controls except on the steering wheel. Ergonomics are not sorted all the way. QC is still an issue. No Petrol engine, even in 2023 (what's wrong with you, TATA..?) And lastly, Service Centre feedback, which should be taken care of asap. Apart from these, I think this car is gonna blow up the market...✌️
5:46 imagine honking the horn, out of reflex.. Yes, that happens sometimes.. Now imagine the same except you have this new steering wheel with this amazing LCD screen right where the horn is supposed to be… yikes… ❤️🩹
excellent car but a word to the tata engineers...the knee touching the dash and the shin touching the centre tunnel plastics is a big issue for long rides. the punch, nexon and harrier has this same issue..loks like a minor issue that can be solved by tata engineers...on long drives for tall people that is a big issue..hope the rectification comes soon...for this one single reason i opted out of punch and nexon..in my mid forties with a whole lot of long drives i cant afford to fatigue my legs by not being able to rest them comfortably
The industrialists must understand that time has changed and they can't just sell their product betting on religious propaganda e.g Patanjali or based on patriotism e.g micromax...To make my point clear both of this brand failed miserably coz both of them were selling cheap product but 'Tata' is different...they sell reliability, strong built-in quality products thats best of the best in the line... Thats why Tata will proudly make its mark in the consumers ❤️
They could have placed the mode changer ring next to handrest and then gear shifter( ventilated seat controls around the gear shifter parallel to driver and co driver) and then cup holders and then wireless charger which would have been easier to access and would have been a decent assembly.

Maybe, Tata can learn from Hyundai and give a combination of button/touch with feedback on the center console.
But you can control almost everything through voice command. From AC to sunroof to music. So it shouldn't be a major problem.
It's a type of cost cutting if you don't mind, Buttons need more work as mechanically, but touch based buttons are little less because of programmed.

I know this is gonna sound kinda corny but I'm GENUINELY proud of Tata Motors and how far they've come. This is a class-leading SUV imo.
You do sound corny😂
Except 4×4
Buy Tata first, then talk. I have had a Tata Safari Decor for the last 12 years, and their after-sales service is superb. The Tata team has been very supportive with pickup and drop service and maintenance scheduling. So, Tata is the best
Me too, the service is top notch
When other companies were trying to dominate Tata, tata was preparing themself to bang them all like a tank. What a transformation Tata.. though i dont own it, but iam proud of you
The only concerns here are the glossy black trim and Tata's track record with dealership behaviour and servicing.
Martin Uhlarik, Head of Design for Tata Motors European Technical Centre, UK. Really looks doing a great job for TATA MOTORS after Pratap Bose.
7:10 In all the Tata Harrier 2023 reviews, the main problem discussed is the left knee hitting the dash. As a 6':2" guy, it is a big let down 😢
Really proud on tata ! Tata gives a epic vibes 🔥
I was biggest critique of hydraulic steering. Thank god .. finally .. electric is here .. hope in gold edition they offer both tilt and telescopic adjustment.
Feeling so proud seeing an Indian company making world class products ❤
Tata definitely has upped the game by adding more tech and features, but we definitely need AWD
It is a big disappointment and surprise that Tata engineers could not remove such a small flaw that the driver's knee hits the dashboard, which is quite serious.
Tata Motors should provide an option of AWD like other brands so that car enthusiasts can sometimes go for a bit off-roading and a better grip.
Agreed
True waiting for that day..
1st n foremost they should learn how to provide a good after sales service, rest is all unnecessary and subjective.
Very few real enthusiasts who buy awd for going off-roading. Difficult for brands to make such offerings from financial point of view.
Thar's best selling model is the 2wd version. And that is a enthusiast car, not like the Harrier which is a family car.
Tata Motors had one major issue to fix - the centre console obstructing the driver's knee, and they didn't fix it.
4X4 or AWD was a must here. It's a very big miss to be honest.
they said it will come with ev as an option
Forget Discovery
Tata has tried to make dream of every Indian true of a tech suv.❤
This is how you do a review. How can you not like and subscribe to such great content. Very well done.

Need an comparison video between 2023 harrier vs kia Seltos, need to see how the adas and other features are like between them
It looks so imposing man. Such a sleek yet aggressive look!
It's getting closer and closer to evoke 😍😍
I'm absolutely like the facelift it looks super beautiful 😍💖
If people can look past the inconsistency gaps in body panels this is an amazing car to drive
Amazing content, Autocar.. Polished to the point as always..
I hope they solved the niggles which plagued the pre-facelift version. And the lack of a petrol engine and awd is a bit of a bummer. But otherwise this is a very good facelift and makes the Harrier much more desirable
How does auto emergency braking work with the manual? Wouldn't it stall the car, or does it somehow engage the clutch by itself too?
Certainly Tata does come up with the advance feature loaded cars making them Cars of the Future. But sadly they are still not going into the Petrol version and bit of improvement in the After Sales Service at Service Centre is the need of the hour.
Would love to see a video of autocar team's personal cars-Want to know if you went with your head or your heart when it comes to car choices😁😍..

Tata nailed it
Ahead in competition

Yup and last in car servicing competition
@@raghunathsrinivasan4078 yet their ev runs on ancient tech

will it get 4*4, which is long pending ?
Looks and interiors are fabulous. The review is professional and adequately critical. All in all a very useful video.
Grand SUV for making the perfect adventure 🔥
An AWD option will be highly appreciated 👍
I’m just under six feet tall needs a channel of its own ❤️

This is now so much complete. Thid yellow is fetching. But wanted to see more BTS, becuase it just makes it much more fun.
I also felt left knee touching the dash and disturbing while driving if you are taller, like 6f. That was most irritating part 😢
Love the harrier but love understated colors. Greys and black interiors. Also wood and beige interiors.

I feel Tata has listened to everything except a couple of issues.. The back seat still doesn’t recline, the knee touching dashboard and a 4x4 option.

Considering:
- wud keep for 8-10 years

We like Jeep compass because of its look, size, safety but are hesitant because of
- doubt on Jeep long term presence in India
- high maintenance & part cost (nt sure)
- no 360 camera and ADAS
