You're an amazing teacher! It's crazy how you mentioned you almost lost someone due to a drug addiction because for this last week my friend went missing. I finally found out from her yesterday that she was okay, but had been in a mental institution for being suicidal while on some extremely bad drugs. After a month of not playing the guitar, I decided to pick it up again and chose this song. You're very inspiring just like this song.
This was an unbelievably kind thing to say. I have sat here, looking at my keyboard for what feels like an hour, trying to come up with a meaningful way to say thank you, and everything I write seems to come up short. It is so humbling to read comments like these and I just don't know what to say. I am blown away. I am so thankful that your friend is okay. Thank you so so much Tammy. You are the amazing one!
You're incredible at explaining and breaking it down even though you think it was a bit confusing. Lol. There are many TH-camrs who just aren't as clear as you were. Thank you for helping me learn one of my very favorite songs! It, too, holds a lot of meaning to me as well for similar reasons... I'm sorry to have heard about your loss. I started playing guitar like 1 week ago and it was one hell of a journey I started playing songs with tabs like wonderwall hotel california, but avanged sevenfold is my favorite band and I didn't have the courage to play one song from them, today is the day, wish me luck boys, and btw ur explanation is very good, I learned all the cords till the slide in like 5 minutes u are the best.
So, did u make it? I spent a good 2hrs yesterday trying to master this
@@snakebrfull i m starting to get the hang of it, I can play it almost perfectly, not that hard when u practice it, another good fingerstyle song to learn if u are a beginner like me, it s, the last of us 2 guitar lesson, I learned it in 2 hours and I play it perfectly now.

Lost my grandfather/father figure in July of 2021 due to a stroke. He was only 75 years old, and his birthday was just a few weeks away. This song was the first one I listened to after he died, as it just seemed like a fitting send off. I started officially learning guitar not long after, and I felt like I owed it to him to learn the song in its entirety for him. You made it extremely clear and easy to understand! In fact, you're one of the only ones that actually *tell me* what the chords are lmaooo
Joking aside, this was an amazing tutorial, and I 100% agree with you that this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music out there. Thank you so much!
My bud died in my arms. It was ruled an accident. We still dont know what happened, but head injuries might have something to do with it. We played hockey together. He was a captain on and off the ice. Miss him to death man.

This is my first song I ever tried bridge/interlude, and first song that makes me wanted to play guitar.
Although I'm not very good at it, and got stuck on bar chord and stopped multiple time.
