    That's the version of Love Divine I sang as a chorister and which you almost never hear. Brought back many happy memories as it was this hymn and being a chorister which began my love of music, singing and the pipe organ all those years ago. Thank you 🎶❤️

    21:57 For those who are interested, here’s the full lyrics to ‘Come, great God of all the ages’ to Abbott’s Leigh. I hadn’t heard this setting of words before so I had to go and look them up.
    Come, great God of all the ages,
    make your earthly mission known;
    speak through every deed and person,
    let your way and will be shown.
    Guide the church to true commitment,
    give direction now, we ask;
    fit us for the work of building,
    dedicate us to the task.
    Come, Christ, Jesus, flesh and spirit,
    sure foundation, cornerstone,
    help us form the church eternal,
    may your vision be our own.
    Send a message to each follower,
    lead all people to your way;
    urge us to strong faith and action
    as we build the church today.
    Come, great Spirit, in and with us,
    tune our ears to hear your call;
    through the moving of your presence,
    let redeeming love recall
    ministry in dedication,
    love embodied in our deeds;
    challenge us to do your bidding,
    see your purpose, fill all needs.
    Come, O come, in celebration,
    household of the one true God,
    in commitment and rejoicing
    let us go where Christ has trod;
    as we act in faith and reverence,
    let us, Lord, the future see,
    place us in the church triumphant,
    now and for eternity.

    Unfortunately, I cannot make Sunday evenings, so I see the video on Mondays. But starting with Aurelia reminded me of a time I was a sub-organist at a parish church. I'm not a very good organist and even make mistakes in hymns. The organist encouraged me and said not to worry about mistakes and told me about a big confirmation service he once played for, with the bishop there and a full church. He played Aurelia and, when he got to, "Their cry goes up, 'How long?'", he played an A and not A flat on a full organ! It's amazing how a semitone can make such a difference. I have to say I loved your triumphant 'How long?'. Well played, as usual.

    For All The Saints, 38:53 one of the first hymns I memorized for our processional, stepping in beat approaching the front choir loft. I could have lasted the full eight verses
    I don't, neither you, put listeners to sleep and certainly tell when you reached the 6th and last verse (score I found to this (by Ralph Vaughan Williams) of this remarkable score. I was not at all disappointed. All I did, was listen again... and again 😀.
    "Praise the Lord with Drums and Cymbals" at 57:46, I may have heard once in my life. Now immersed, I can listen with joy the entire score. It too repeatedly blows my socks off.
    I'm left here overwhelmed again. Thanks Richard for not just the invitation. and spiritual healing, but the very music. Your represent the church quite well and wished I were a member. I would certainly attend at the very least!

    I love "Eternal Father." There are many versions of this on TH-cam, including some in the Naval Chapel by their own organist. However I still come back to your versions as the registrations you choose give the hymn some gravitas and authority that I can't find elsewhere.

    Hi Richard. I hope you are well and that you have all enjoyed your evening off.
    Thanks for another great VC. Some really great hymns tonight. Thanks for playing Love Divine for me. I think it's just as great a tune as Blaenwern.
    Jesu, The Very Thought Of Thee is set to St Botolph in the NEH. Personally, I am more used to it being set to Belmont, whereas I'm more used to St Agnes being set to Shall we not love thee, mother dear
    Just for info, The Spacious Firmament on High is set to Addisons in Hymns Ancient and Modern Revised (number 170). The creation tune was excellent though I do like addisons. Personally, I like the A&MR. There are some great tunes, and hymns, in there that do not appear in the NEH or, I believe in the A&M Nee standard such as St Andrew of Crete and Father, let me dedicate.
    Anyway, thanks again and have a great week. I will be looking forward to next Sunday

    • @jdbreaux8080
      @jdbreaux8080 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perfect in Austin Texas. It must be "layers of volume settings on your" and a few (two that I am aware) computers. The rest of the world hears it very well. I recommend you try listening to him on someone else's computer, anywhere in Melbourne. He, Richard *should not* make any changes to satisfy two computers/listeners in the world.
      I hate to make this comment, but it needs to be said. It is in your hands 👐now. If I were in Melbourne, I would jump through flaming hoops to personally help you wherever in Melbourne. You (anyone) deserve/s to hear this with appropriate volume.
      I have provided my technical answer "it must be..." "try..." now in your hands to take action. You and your ears, your soul deserve your time now to trying my years of experience and my technical recommendations.
      I watch/listen to this TH-cam on a big screen TV/monitor. 1. The TV has a volume setting. 2. The operating system has another. 3. The PC audio/video another. Those for me alone, I have three layers right there. 4. Four layers if I use head phones. Have you identified ALL layers of your audio?
      Can you truly identify all of your layers technically? Dig my friend John. Keep digging and trying.
      1. I have supplied you with my solutions.
      2. I supplied you with multiple examples on my own equipment.
      3. I have supplied you with a trial solution.
      There is nothing further we can do. For Richard to make a change would wreck the other thousands of listeners. He/we can not do any further. He cannot respond with a lengthy answer/reply. I can.
      Reply/comment to me here. I can continue to attempt to help you from afar with respect. I am relentless at trouble-shooting and quite patient. It is worth my time to realize this for you. For anyone seeking this help. IT IS WORTH IT!
