Holidays and tradition always seem to lie at the mental bedrock of everything Humans do, in this world and the Disc. What's interesting about that is the fictional versions always seem considerably more grounded when considered in context... despite bending and sometimes outright breaking the existing rules of their setting. The Hogfather is a particularly good example of this, straddling as he does the borders between Personification, God, Spirit and sheer bloody-minded parody of the beliefs and systems that make him what he is... yet he's still a solid and workmanlike figure, working his particular craft with the grim professionalism of an underappreciated but necessary craftsman.
Hi,there. The holidays on all which all is based on. The Celts worshipped this holiday from 7 thousand BC to the present day. Between the 15th of December up to the 15th of January. And then the Romans did worship from the end of November through to January this is mithras God worship on a Sunday, had a halo and had twelve followers five hundred years, before the other one. The Jews did two. Hanukkah and Jusus, but the Jusus one can not be placed at this time of the year, due to other cults saying he was born in the summer around the 31st of July to the first of August. *Four years after the death of King Herod*. "Strange that, because Herod is part of that story of that Christmas story four years before the birth". Second the 8 days of Hanukkah and desperate anybody else, they just copy what they like or they don't have anything to do at this time of the year. Which is sad really, "hello" it's a good time to do things and get little things out their way, plus also, it's good to the other cults because these are not true religions they are Pagan, but the Jews give rise to the Christians and the Muslims all pagan's and all the same Pagan religion. So all in all, enjoy Yourself It's Later Than You Think. The moving hand writes having written moves on. Just a few thoughts on pagans cult of the Muslims, Jews and the Christians. Goodnight and don't have nightmares.* It's just the facts*.. G . A small God.
Just for the record Coca-Cola didn't actually make the modern depiction of Santa they used the modern depiction of Santa and people in the 50s were so obsessed with Coke that they only remembered it from the coke commercials but when the commercial was made that is already what Santa popularly looked like. There are many many references to Santa looking like that before the coke commercial. It is true that there are even older depictions of Santa where he is wearing through white or gold and white or green and white but red and white were the primary Santa colors even before the commercial
As I understand it? Coke basically finalized and codified the look Santa has in modern times. There was no Santa that look quite like the one Coca-Cola gave us before that.
In the point about belief in the Hogfather in order to get the sun to rise again... I feel disappointed in humanity because a STRONG portion of the belief that was created/raised by Death in his rounds as the Hogfather was his convincing the AI of HEX to do the believing.
"Makes a lot more sense, which is probably why you can tell it's the fictional one, honestly." Lol, I enjoyed that joke a bit too much.
I hope you make more of these. I thoroughly enjoy them. I want to get all the books now.
