Great video, your wife was right, you had lots of good tips.
    I had a good laugh at the "I don't like gloves, that's why I have 3 kids". 😂

I got myself a GEM MMOC that was listed as unused. When I received it, I noticed that the TTO mechanism doesn't open up the head all the way. It goes about half way and I have to use my fingers to open it the rest of the way up. Closing works better though. Once opened all the way, it closes as it should. At least I think it does as there seems to be a slight "sliding forward" of the top cap when it clamps down on the blade at the very end of the twist action. I haven't actually installed a blade in it yet as I just received it yesterday and didn't have time to play with it that much.
The razor seems unused indeed. The mechanism doesn't stick or anything. The head just doesn't open all the way, even though I can keep on twisting the handle. In other words, the cap stops opening sooner than the twist action comes to a stop. Do you have any pointers to share?

@konap7 try soaking it 24 hours in hot water and a few squeezes of dawn dish detergent. If you are home try to dump some water and add hot water a few times but it’s not a must.
Try that. If that gets it too move better drop a few drops of hair clipper machine or mineral oil on the sliding mechanism under the base plate above the handle. That should make it slide better.
I’ve seen someone took it apart but it’s NOT easy & can damage the razor quickly.

Thanks very much for these pointers! I really appreciate it!
Could you link to the video of the guy who took it apart? Or tell me how to find it? Just curious on how it's done. Not gonna try it 😅

@konap7 it was on the badger and blade forum. I found it searching on Google “MMOC disassembly “ or “MMOC detail field strip” if I recall.
The issue was the post was old and there were no pictures. I grasped most of what the poster was trying to instruct but could have really used some pictures for clarification.

How much $ is a bottle of that Noxon stuff?

@brandypetersen8017 sorry my dad gave me this bottle I’m not sure off hand. The brasso is about $6.

@Stubblemeetssteel I tried looking it up on line. Unless I'm seeing it wrong, a 12 oz. bottle of Noxon is $150.00. That seems a little steep.

@brandynpetersen8017 it’s NOT that good 🤣 flitz & brasso work well. Buffing wheel is king.

@Stubblemeetssteel To be honest, all 3 of my brass Micromatic OC are in reality nice shape, and don't really need polishing. One still has the tag on it like it's new. I haven't used it. I do have a polishing wheel and maybe some Brasso, and quite a bit of Semi-Chrome polish. For future reference. I might need to polish one someday. All of the scratches they have on them, tell their story. The crud and soap scum have to go.
