I think the Shark kinda wins this one out. The one major downside you noted , overloading on wet pickup (and potentially all wet pick up), seems like something that won't be encountered practically. I know if I made a spill, my first inclination would be to wipe it up with a paper towel then to bring out a vacuum that would then need to be cleaned. Looking forward to see how Bissell responds!
It is designed to clean by dispensing cleanser as it moves across the floor. Not sure how it would work if trying to clean up a spill. It will not run without the cleaner, so I will be interested in you results. Frankly I would just use a terry town or paper towel depending on the size of the spill, and use the Hydro Vac to clean up after.
Got the shark and out of curiosity decided to torture test it and clean the crap under the stove and fridge. Damn this thing just ate everything up. Took a lot of passes but beats scrubbing it manually.
@@TechJunky777 still good and going. Note don’t forget to always empty and dry the reservoir. I forgot and the filter sponge got mouldy and smelly. Gladly they sell replacements.
@@TechJunky777 would consider the wireless model. But the corded is very nice for continuous cleaning. Just gotta refill the tank like 2 times depending on how much of a deep clean you want to do.
The point about the LEDs at 3:07, the LEDs on the Bissell are designed to light the water channels so you can see the water flowing on the trigger pull. They're less used for lighting the floorheads path
Ive had several Bissell Crosswave's, and loved them. When I loved to AZ where there is a lot of dust in the air, that gets tracked in, I found that the Crosswave was not doing as good of a job as it had done on my tile floors in CT. I decided to try the Shark. I love their vacs so why not try this. First of all, the automatic dispensing of the cleaning fluid is a plus in the Shark Hydro vac.. No more over watered floors, and no more streaks, and I think with less "residue" of cleaning fluid on the floor, I have less spots to go back to. I love the self cleaning feature on the Shark. Fortunately I have a plug just outside the closet where I store it, so I plug it in and walk away. The fact that it separates the dirty water from the debris that it may pick up is a plus. I usually run my shark vac, to clean the loose stuff from the tiles before I do the Shark Hydro vac, so I have very little debris to empty. Just dirty water and the filter is easy to clean and dry. All in all this is the winner. My Bissell Crosswave went to Goodwill where someone will love it as I did. I think Shark products are getting to be the gold standard and I love all of mine.
I also really appreciate this comment, because I'm definitely the type to over-water if it's up to me. If you don't mind me asking a couple more questions.. Is there a special soap that comes with either/both of these? What would you say is the largest size item that they can pick up? Do you followup with a steam mop or anything after using one of these or do you see a need to?
Both the Bissell and the Shark come with a concentrated solution that you add to the water tank. I had a small stock pile of Bissell; cleaner which I kept and have been using in my Shark. As far as the question of size of items to pick up, I don't really use it as a vacuum although it does that while I am cleaning the floor. I use my Dyson cordless to run around the house quickly to pick up any visible debris before I was the floors with the Shark Hydro Vac which does the rest. All my rooms are tile except two bedrooms, and the LR and the tiles of almost white. I use the Shark Hydro Vac each week to keep the tiles and the grout clean.@@andreakidd2174
I have cordless hydrovac and i love love love it!! I have a toddler so after meal time, hydrovac to the rescue! Husband dropped a whole container of yogurt, i didnt even get mad coz hydrovac to the rescue. Toddler knocked over my morning coffee, just used hydrovac! It made me a better wife and mom coz i am not too tired all the time cleaning after everyone 🤣🤣🤣 I have roomba and brava and also 2 other shark cordless vacuum on top of my hydrovac 😅
I have had both of these products and I can easily say the shark is the much better cleaner. The self cleaning option imo is wonderful, it’s lighter and I feel the “mopping” action is much better as well.
It only lets you vacuum and mop simultaneously, the bissell has a button you press so you might be better off with that one. Both were good I just preferred the shark.
@@jenniferjones5391 Yeah, that's more of what I'm looking for anyway. Something for the weekly washing of tile floors. It's nice having the option to control water yourself, but the Hover Spin scrub I'm currently using, I find I'm just holding the water trigger down the whole time anyway.

Thank you. I've got the purple Bissell one from when they first released it 😄. I have repeatedly thought about selling it and upgrading to a cordless version but it seems like cordless haven't caught up unless you're willing to spend multiple times the money! Thank you again.
Some machines you can keep for life. Assuming the internals of it hold up. Like those bagged vacuum cleaners our grandparents had that are still kickin' ass today if they were passed down.
I have the purple corded one as well and love it but wanted the cordless so I could go further but it was a waste of money. It does not clean as well as the cheaper corded one
would love to know how these guys stack up against tineco"s only corded option the S5 Steam, I'm hesitating on it because I don't know if having a vacmop and steamer in one is worth it or just getting and good vacmop and steam mop separately is better
Not sure if you made a decision. I tried a few steamers and absolutely hated them. I would much rather have one of these. I have a robot floor cleaner that is very similar, w/ separate clean and dirty water, and a soft roller w/ a few scrubby sections and it does a better job than I can do w/ a mop. I'd rather have a wet/dry mop though, because my kitchen is terrible for a dumb robot. I have to put stuff everywhere to block it, esp. my kitchen island, or it gets stuck there. It would be easier to use one of these. For a more open space, turning a robot mop loose would be terrific though.
I love my Bissel Crosswave Pet (Costco). I will take a noisier motor for more cleaning power and i like the trigger control to dispense cleaning solution
I want to love it too. But how about when you are cleaning and it spits a clump of hair out on horn rug or floor? Why does it do that? Also it leaves a lot of water behind and doesn’t suck it in properly
I had the crosswave, I honestly returned it. The noise level was truly a deal breaker, living in an apartment and being a night owl cleaner. It was just not practical. I am truly missing the aspect of vacuuming so efficiently and mopping at one time so i wanted to give the shark a try. I love my shark NV130 and 562H. But my Eufy G30 Edge has truly surprised me at it's cleaning and navigation. How is the Eufy mop vac?
I know from other videos that the robot vacs w/ mop attachments are near to useless, unless they are the expensive models that vibrate to actually loosen dirt. I do have an iLife Shinebot and it mops and scrubs very well. It works similar to one of these units he's demoing, but in a robot mop, w/ separate clean and dirty water tanks. The dirty comes out filthy too. It will pick up light debri as well. Though it's not designed for the vacuuming these can do. It's pretty dumb and you really have to block off areas you don't want it to go.
It would have been better to test one of the newer versions of the corded Crosswave (instead of the original model from 2017) as the Shark is obviously far newer by comparison. Perhaps testing instead the new Crosswave HydroSteam or the Crosswave Pro - both have automatic self-cleaning functions and are 2023 models, like the Shark.
2:49 I just bought the 1785 from Target and it has a self clean button that works fine in upright... not sure why the more expensive version wouldn't have that!
I haven't heard of either clogging. They don't get to edges and leave about an inch gap people say. The Tineco S5 has edge cleaning, but it gets closer, but not completely there.

Corded preffered for more power Upd: found your 5 years old video, will check it out Upd2: actually found a 2024 video, thanks!
Any chance you have tested how close to an edge these machines get at the front or sides? I love my cross wave but end up having to hand wash several inches all around the edges.
Thank you for your work! I watched the video but I would prefer a cordless option for my needs. Maybe a video on the cordless floor washer leaders sometime ? Again thank you for this channel 🤩
I was torn between these two a while but but ultimately went with the shark because it was on sale. I'm happy with my purchase although I use my hoover cleaner for more of a deep clean
Oh no, I’m too late! You got the Shark?! I wish you luck. Sadly there’s not enough time in a day for me to list the various reasons why I would stay away from any Shark!
I have the cordless Shark Hydrovac, it’s great, however the running time is 20-25 minutes, I wish I would have bought the corded version in that respect. I’ve had Bissell products & as the years went by the newer versions just were not very good, the small vacuum would not stay together or pick up any dirt in the two I bought, so no more Bissell anything. I own 4 Shark items, they’re just top notch products consistently, IMO.
you didn't have any issues with the sensor on the shark? Mine stopped working and not happy about facing the possibility of having to take it apart to unwire the sensor
Awesome reviews! Does the Shark Hydrovac have as much suction and pickup power at the head as the Shark Apex Duo? With your review, I'm thinking of swapping out Apex Duo for the Hydrovac.
I have the Apex and the upgraded Vertex along with the Hydrovac. The hydrovac isn't quite as good picking up debris but it's a reasonable tradeoff being able to vac and mop simultaneously. As long as you don't let your floor get wildly out of hand or have a roomba in between, I think you'll enjoy it.
Can you have a look at the new Eufy Mach V1 ultra or non ultra, they are similar to the tineco floor one s5 or s7, thanks! Im glad to hear your voice again btw!
I’ve got the cordless crosswave. Any time I try to clean a wet mess that isn’t water, the thing shuts off and starts flashing lights as if the tank is full. I wish there was an override to manually control the thing.
Mine has the same issue with the tank being registered as full no matter if I use it for wet or dry work.. I normally don't regret the purchases that I have made. However, the cordless crosswave is one of those purchases that I wish I had never made. My corded model, on the other hand, is my most used vacuum in my apt.
@robbiedw1495 I keep wishing I had gotten the cordless version but then I read another review and they always say the same thing. The corded one is one of the best vacuum mops on the market... it's a bummer there aren't any decent cordless ones for a reasonable price but I did do my research and chose the corded Bissell pet version for good reason
I have the Shark on the way to me. I will buy only corded machines as every battery vacuum I've purchased died within a few months. I have 2,100 sq. ft. of LVP with a few small, washable rugs.
What do I used/use? In Canada the green Bissel Crosswave. I loved it. And yes. Mostly tiles to clean. This year, after looking my girlfriend “flooding” the house to mopping the tile floors, I had it. I can not understand people who live in a country where there is a high humidity level every single day, that you flood your house to clean it on top. It takes hours to try out the house & floor! I’m not starting with the walls who suck all moisture in. If one doesn’t know what I am talking. Latinas take a bucket and shovel water on the floors and use a mop to clean. - Anyway. Not even the dogs like to go inside the house with the floors wet. I ordered the Bissel Crosswave Pet pro for just $119 from the Bissel EBay store. It said OPEN BOX. What I received here in Panama was a new item. All original packaging. And it wasn’t as advertised. Advertisement said: 1 floor roll hard floor and 1 carpet, drying stand and Crosswave. I got a set with 4 rolls, 4 little bottles of solutions, stand, Crosswave, 3 year warranty. That’s a plus. And all for $119 ! I didn’t do a long research. I was happy with the original Crosswave. I didn’t think when I did see the price either. Just ordered it. I used it already 2 times. - Coming home this week, what does my girlfriend do? Right! Flooding the house again. And the Crosswave standing right THERE!! Women! 😅
@VacuumWars Seriously!!! The time, money, dedication, brains, etc etc etc it takes to do such great videos like these cannot be overstated. They're quality, and then also a service to us consumers. Thank you
I have the crosswave at home and I can tell you it’s really loud. But it doesn’t really bother me when I clean the house. It’s the fact sometimes the cats are napping or my husband on the phone working.
Great concise comparison, thanks! The music at the end is SO annoying. I immediately close the video when it comes on, so if there’s something you want people to see, skip that dreadful music.
I've heard they can refesh area rugs. The would only do a surface wipe, but that would still be nice. You'd need a rub cleaner to really get them clean and give a good scrub into the fibres.
But the Hydro from Shark is NOT available in Europe... That's why I went for the Dreame H12 Pro which, imo, is the best compared to all other Europe available units. I'd love to see a test between the shark Hydro XL and the Dreame H12 Pro!
Am so indecisive on these but also the newer ones with steam like the tineco floor one s5 steam, bissell crosswave hydrosteam, and also Anker eufy mach v1 ultra steam. I see alot of people are requesting the same on reviews for those.
Every manufacturer in this category is making candy colored toys with minuscule tanks. Bissel makes the Big Green Carpet Cleaner - a machine that is 40 pounds of power and capacity. I wonder what is stopping them from taking that mindset to hard floors?
Thank you for your work! I watched the video but I would prefer a cordless option for my needs. I have a cordless Prettycare and it works great. But I'' check them out
I lean towards the Crosswave because first the roller guard is lower - this is good so I don't run over things like cords, I can just push them out of the way. The Shark's" I was always running over things while things while trying to just push them. Second is water on demand because a lot of times I (people) tend to walk over the wet spots, causing more mess, I really like dry rolling with this, kinda like a duo-clean. Third the Shark I got had no light (Canada), Crossover does. What do you think aboput my reasons?
Update: I tried out the Crosswave and absolutely hated it. So bulky. Heavy, the lights are ineffectual, the wheels slide all over the place on the wet surfaced it just cleaned. Constant watering left the floor too wet because it was too hard to gauge. The Hydrovac is night and day better.
I’d like to see Hizero revisited. I was curious why it was excluded from the last hard floor cleaner contest when it beat the Crosswave in the previous head-to-head with Tineco. Maybe because the Hizero was provided by the company and not purchased? Regardless, bring back Hizero!
I have both of these machines. I have used the shark maybe 3 times and honestly should have just returned it. I have been checking DAILY in hopes of a review on the new Hoover Streamline though!!! Can't believe there isn't a single review on it yet.
@@Kylewraps well….. yeah. It doesn’t get used that much because I don’t really like how it cleans. The suction seems very weak. It doesn’t do a bad job or anything…, it just doesn’t FEEL like it cleans as well as the bissell. Hard to explain…
Here is the truth, if you want to use a regular mop to smear your dirt around and really get maybe 30% of the filth off the floor, continue with your mop. Other wise either of these units will get 95% up and out of your house. I like my time invested in cleaning to count and do a good job. I started several years ago with a Hoover hard floor cleaner. That is when I discovered that my mopping was a waste of time. As a test I used a regular mop first then the Hoover. Wow it was like I haven’t even mopped. The water was dark brown. I have just purchased a Bissell pet pro and is too early to tell if it’s doing and better job. The more times you clean with the machine the cleaner your floor becomes and yes it will pull the dirt from grout between the tile. Yes we do have a pup running around inside and he does not wipe his feet upon entering the house.
I have the hydrovac and honestly I hate it. I wish I had the crosswave. I would much prefer to dispense the water on my own and that way I can use it as just a vacuum so there’s less water on the floor to dry.
i had the shark by your recommendation and it was shit and it seriously gave me issues-- from smelling after 6 months to getting louder and louder. i got the mach v1 ultra-- way better. please compare.
More power and 30% bigger water tank?? Sounds like the bissel is the real winner. Can't overstate how important the size of tanks are. If you are doing any sort of cleaning, especially large or multiroom refilling/emptying are the biggest hassles. Kinda annoying you don't state the volume of the dirty water tanks (or did I miss it).. Regarding the 200w motor it's almost like shark got lazy and used the same motor as the cordless version and like most weak cordless machine relies on the roller for the heavy lifting.
I have had the corded crosswave, the pet version in this video, and the cordless shark. Even if you get to it in a matter of MINUTES, NOTHING has saved me from frequently having to manually scrub after my now 3.5 and 1.5 year olds... I even tried using distilled water. If they make one of these that Also has two big harder bristles and maybe a platform I can Stand my 240lbs ass on that can do the Job, please God someone let me know
You might try the corded Advance SC-100. It's around $998 to $1800 but is heavy-duty and has more scrubbing power. It's bigger, heavier and It doesn't corner well, it's more for straight angles. The motors are some of the best ever made and should last for years with proper maintenance. Note, these are targeted for businesses but can be used at home.
These tests are not real-life tests. In my house, there are multiple kinds of things on the floor that need to be cleaned up: hair, feathers, crumbs, dirt, sticky spills kids left to dry, etc. We don’t one-at-a-time it with floor mess needing cleaning up. The “torture” tests give me only part of the story. How about having tests happen for a week in people’s homes?
If I cracked an egg on my floor. I'd wipe it up first and then use the Hydrovac. First of all, I don't want all that inside the HYDROVAC, when I can simply wipe it up. And any other big spills will get picked up first. I'm not putting all that food in my HYDROVAC!

Are you going to add the shark rocket corded stick vacuums to ur comparisons or corded stick vacuums in general ?
Returned the.Shark because upu CAN NOT turn off the water. It just leaves a sopping wet floor.
Can you have a look at the new Eufy Mach V1 ultra or non ultra, they are similar to the tineco floor one s5 or s7, thanks! Im glad to hear your voice again btw!
I like see the Eufy Mach V1 Ultra Steam Version tested in the premium category .
We can't make any promises but thank you for asking. We love suggestions.
Love the art at the end of the video!
Thank you!
Can I replace the multi-surface concentrate? I am from Mexico and we don’t have that product here. Thank you for the video.
Thanks so much, really needed this vs!
Glad to hear it!
@@Adamhc75 that’s good to know about the corded model. I had a sneaking suspicion that the corded version was the better option.
There is. Get the corded model! LOL. These cordless things are great for a gimmick but nearly as effective and certainly not more practical.
What about the Hoover streamline that can clean right up to the edge???
Can you do a comparison of this bissell crosswave and Bissell CrossWave HydroSteam Wet Dry Vac
Please review the Eufy Mach V1 ultra
Love the endings of the videos! They look ai generated very cool😎
I have the Shark on the way to me. I will buy only corded machines as every battery vacuum I've purchased died within a few months. I have 2,100 sq. ft. of LVP with a few small, washable rugs.
We hope you enjoy it!
So you can't use the shark without it spraying water?
Please test the Eufy Mach v1 Ultra!
My iFloor 3 just died. I want to replace it but unsure which one to get
Does the shark put out solution the entire time or can you use to to vacuum hard floor when solution is not needed
No vacuum only option. Most people who've had both say they like the Shark better overall. Some like that they can control water flow w/ the Bissell.
I really loved my Shark Hydrovac cordless. Unfortunately they seem to have an issue with the clean water dispenser.
Still worth buying or?
What is the issue?
Women! 😅
I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH FOR THESE AMAZING VIDEOS!!!!! seriously. Thank you.
You're very welcome! We're so glad you enjoy them!
@VacuumWars Seriously!!! The time, money, dedication, brains, etc etc etc it takes to do such great videos like these cannot be overstated. They're quality, and then also a service to us consumers. Thank you
I would've liked to have actually heard the vacuums during the sound test, as tone is as, if not more, important as the decibels.
I have the crosswave at home and I can tell you it’s really loud. But it doesn’t really bother me when I clean the house. It’s the fact sometimes the cats are napping or my husband on the phone working.
You never do Karcher (popular in Australia).. don’t you get them there?
Awesome! Thank you!
Great concise comparison, thanks! The music at the end is SO annoying. I immediately close the video when it comes on, so if there’s something you want people to see, skip that dreadful music.
Noted!
What about the warranty on these machines?
so would these not be good for carpeting? we have hardwood/area rug downstairs and upstairs is all carpet
I've heard they can refesh area rugs. The would only do a surface wipe, but that would still be nice. You'd need a rub cleaner to really get them clean and give a good scrub into the fibres.
Can these clean short pile carpets too?
Please review the new Bissell model, the Crosswave Hydrosteam!
We can't make any promises but thank you for asking! We love suggestions!
Could you cover miele, riccar, and sebo corded bag vacuums? Professionals swear by their better cleaning power.
Thank you for the tests. 8t was interesting to know how you access such products.
Wooo hes back
please compare the shark to the tineco S3
We can't make any promises but thank you for asking. We love suggestions.
Hello, love your work!
Would you consider to review Xiaomi G11 please?
I got the Shark HydroVac XL cordless a couple months ago & I love it!!
Good to hear!
I would go for the Bissell but I still love Shark but the reason why I go for the Bissell because it has a trigger for me to control the water
I hope shark brings this to Europe soon! I cannot find it anywhere 😢
I hope these come to Europe soon!
I can't wait for the Mach 1 ultra vacuum mop
Love your videos. Could you do a review on the Hoover Floormate Deluxe and the Hoover Powerdash Hardfloor cleaners?
Every manufacturer in this category is making candy colored toys with minuscule tanks. Bissel makes the Big Green Carpet Cleaner - a machine that is 40 pounds of power and capacity. I wonder what is stopping them from taking that mindset to hard floors?
Thank you for your work! I watched the video but I would prefer a cordless option for my needs. I have a cordless Prettycare and it works great. But I'' check them out
How about martial arts mats?
Would it work well?
Why should you have returned it? Just because you don’t use it much?
@@Kylewraps well….. yeah. It doesn’t get used that much because I don’t really like how it cleans. The suction seems very weak. It doesn’t do a bad job or anything…, it just doesn’t FEEL like it cleans as well as the bissell. Hard to explain…
@@anthonyerco I see
I’m looking at the Hoover cordless now it seems to be the best one
@@anthonyerco I had a dyson but it burnt out after 2 or 3 years
I want to see the new crosswave hydro steam
I know this is a year old but I would love to see test with Pet hair that's why it's the pet model.
You didn’t pick a winner tho. You only listed Pros at the end. How about untangling pet hair?
Note, these are targeted for businesses but can be used at home.
sick
Bissell crosswave have a roller for carpets
End ❤
