  • I had 15 work days in the month of August. After not getting to write regularly all summer, the ideas were SO ready to get out on paper. So what better way to get back into writing than to try to write 50,000 words across those 15 work days?
It sounded great in theory... but just a few days in, something changed and my plans got derailed.
Here's how I dealt with it, adjusting my plan and my writing habits and making some sacrifices to get as close as I could.
At this point, I have an estimated 25,000 words left that I need to write to finish this book, but I think September's writing schedule will be a little more sedate...
Have you ever tried a big, ambitious writing goal like this before? How did it go for you?

It took me two books to realise that I need to add two weeks onto my writing schedule goal evvvverytime. Because undoubtedly school holidays comes around, a pet dies or some other life event decides to throw me a tit punch. Glad to see it's universal!

It really is! No matter how well I think I have my schedule figured out, there's always a curve ball. Life doesn't care about my schedules.
