every day can be different. regardless of wind, temperature and several other factors, but in general much less algae in Cancun than
riviera maya

Jonathan Moreno mucho sargazo! Islas Mujeres, Tulum (the worst) and playa del Carmen all have it. If you are looking for the most pristine beach, i recommend taking a tour to Isla Contoy.
