Stoob EU is actually pretty great imo, and prequels have shit dialogue and kinda cgi but they tell a decent story which is all I really care about, but I definately see where your coming from
I’m so conflicted. I just caught up on all the movies because I never grew up with them. And this movie just felt half assed with the Star Wars shit idk how to explain it lol . Like it all just got muddled by this point. I liked the movie on my first viewing but the more I try to connect it to the other movies it just falls apart....
I didn't understand the part where Ray is giving the ghost Jedi the light sabers, wasn't it just because of her connection to Ben that they could literally be in physical contact, like when he took her necklace or when he found out where she was because darth vaders' helmet fell next to his feet... So is there a part in the comic where they specify that the Jedi have the power to "conjure" physical items from around the world?
I felt like they were making bedroom eyes at each other from the first movie in the trilogy, and I also thought that their connection was a hella lot deeper than just this "magical force" connection, more towards the only two people in their universe struggling with the draw of the dark side, while everyone around them was like "the dark side, hell naah".. Also I like redemption stories, so I appreciate the Ben/Ren story, I'm also a sucker for happy endings so I didn't care for him dying by the end of it... They did though do a disservice toFins' character, they at least could have kept the Fin/Rose relationship.
It was am excellent movie considering what Last Jedi did to the franchise. They had nowhere to go. In the force awakens they were building up the fight between snoke and Luke then Ryan Johnson had to subvert our expectations and kill Luke and snoke leaving nobody to fill the void in that story arc.
