Thank you for mentioning the importance of calories! The stupid rule of 3's has everyone thinking they can go 3 weeks without food but try being in a stressful scenario for even a couple days without food and you get hangry real quick which makes your decision making worse.

People definitely underestimate how much that will impact you in a high stress and exertion situation.

Great simple kit to have in a vehicle or ATV while off road adventures. Very few who talk on this subject bring up hygiene. KIts like these don´t need to be total cave man. There are comfort items that can be added and won´t take up much space. Great video.

This is great. I just started a new job and I'm 62 miles from home with no vehicle. Freaks me out so I've been putting together a survival kit in my Milwaukee packout lunchbox, including the parts organizer that attaches to the bottom. #greyman
    Thanks!

I've got a five gallon home depot bucket in my car with a similar kit. Options are good.

I agree, a survival scenario can pop up any where, so why not demonstrate cross over supplies/kits. As far as containers go, sealable plastic boxes, coffee cans, or a heavy duty zip lock bag to name a few. Thanks Paul, Good vid.

Perfect, lots of times people forget about gear stored in their vehicle, or even their locker at work or school, extra items are always a good thing,

This reminds me to be more diligent in keeping my kit with me. Just left on a 500 mile trip and in a last minute rush forgot to put my emergency kit in my wife's car. That's why it needs to "stay" in there. Lesson learned

A fishing rod and kit, and a container of Old Bay.

As I stated in the video, this particular kit isn't designed for fishing, hunting or trapping. Just as a basic kit for a short term situation. But I will be doing another video which will speak to those particular additions.

I have something similar going with harbor freights weather proof pistol/tool cases. They are a bit heavy though.

Paul - great addition. The case is pretty hardened so long-term degradation of the gear inside is much reduced. Will double as a water container too.

As long as you're regularly rotating it, the supplies should be good.

Wow! A bit short on the "cutting" aspect there I think. I might have missed something but it seems you have only a tiny saw (Silky Pocketboy) and that orange Mora. What would you do if that blade snapped off during use (it's not a full tang knife)? And the saw is pretty small. If you study Dave Canterbury's 10 Cs of survival, you'll hear of the importance he (and Mors Kochanski) attaches to having a good set of tools for working with wood, to assist with construction, making tools, and furniture, and generally things to assist in the process of survival.
In my opinion, one would need a range of such tools. [As it is your box is quite large with quite a bit of space left over, so you could accommodate a few more tools.]
Saw: I'd upgrade the saw to at least a Gomboy, as I don't know if a Bigboy would fit in there (I doubt it).
Large knife: almost a MUST, for heavy duty work, which almost surely would be needed. (like a Cold Steel Trail Master, preferably San Mai III version.)
Belt knife: This is the tool one would wear nearly all of the time, for general cutting tasks, and tasks around camp. (like a CS SRK - sabre grind in CPM-3V steel).
Multi-tool knife: having numerous tools extends your work capability enormously and a decent multi-tool like a Victorinox Hercules gives you 18 different tools for a host of uses. In addition, this tool's blade and small precision saw provide a carving, woodworking capability with which wooden tools and utensils can be made to make survival more livable.
Just a few thoughts on your otherwise excellent kit.
    Cheers mate.

I was an Instructor for Dave Canterbury and the Pathfinder School, so I'm well attuned to those needs.
To be completely honest, most people have this misconception that they are gonna be bushcrafting and building all this stuff in a "survival" or emergency situation. It just isn't based in reality. You'll be burning a more valuable resource in the calories you have in your body and those you carry. The reason I'm light is that this is meant to give you a few tools to process critical needs like fire.
      Appreciate the feedback though!

I like the ammo can idea. Did I see cordage ? I would suggest a shoulder strap.

I would love to build me one but I would love to know where I can get one of them crates at because that's what I got I would like to get one so I can keep it at my campsite so I have everything I need when I do my overnighters and when I get new gear or something so I can try everything out
