Yes, Dan has confirmed Act Your Age is canon. Dan has since posted in February 2022 that the episode originally was gonna have a different ending. It wasn't gonna have a kiss between Isabella and Phineas, it was just gonna end with Isabella entering her car and driving off. Watching the original ending made Dan realize they earned a kiss. And yeah, Perry would continue with side missions, mainly in Milo Murphy’s Law, but the agency is probably gonna struggle going forward without its best agent; and as most of us know, it isn’t easy for Perry to work with others who aren’t as competent or experienced as him. Also, I remember looking up the lifespan of a platypus one time. I believe it’s roughly 20 years, and I know Perry matures faster than he ages, at least according to his page on the show’s wiki, but I refuse to believe he passes later down the line. Maybe he achieves an evolutionary peak and surviving longer than most other platypuses with how physically fit he is. 18:56 In retrospect, what makes What Might Have Been even more gut-wrenching is that Isabella's leitmotif (a total of four somber notes) is interworked into the "I could've been..." parts, solidifying that, yes, this is her final plea of getting Phineas' reciprocated love...plus it's a masterful Easter Egg.

There is actually a whole episode of Doof being a high school teacher if you wanna check it out. It's called Doof 101. It was originally supposed to be the pilot episode of a Phineas and Ferb spinoff show (called Doof 101), but it never took off, so they just made the pilot a P&F episode. The same goes for an epsiode called O.W.C.A Files. It was supposed to be a spinoff but never got past one episode. They did end up making a sort-of spinoff though called Milo Murphy's Law, which is a fun show. It takes place in the town right next to the one Phineas and Ferb live in, so it has some P&F references throughout the first season, and then they do a crossover with Phineas and Ferb between seasons 1 and 2, and Doof and Perry become reocurring characters in season 2 of Milo.
I thought Milo and his friends also live in Danville since in the crossover you could see Doof’s building from Lard World. Plus the boys’ rollercoaster landed in Melissa’s backyard
They hit it out of the park with this series finale it's one of the few actual satisfying endings to a Disney series unlike one we will not talk about.... and its not Gravity Falls in fact people thought the show in question's entire final season was a bust.
Technically not the finale for a couple reasons, (was the second to last regular episode of the original run with "Last Day of Summer" coming after which was also great, plus there's an at least two season revival coming up), but it was definitely pretty great yeah
If you’re looking for mor Phineas and Ferb episodes to react to I’d recommend “Dude, We’re Getting the Band Back Together” and “The Chronicles of Meep” both are pretty definitive episodes
This episode had me truly bawling in tears when I first watched it😭😭...which wasn't something I EVER expected to happen with this show😅😯 So mad respect to the guys writing this for evoking such emotions in an otherwise so silly show!
You want more Perry x Doof dynamic? There's a whole post-series special called The O.W.C.A. Files about Doof joining the agency (for technically the second time).
One of the punch lines of this episode, is that in every single other episode, Phineas knows exactly what he wants to do every single day. Now, he can’t decide where he wants to go to college! Phineas is for the first time completely indecisive. this may also be the reason he’s finally acknowledging the fact that Isabella had been giving him signs for over 10 years. He’s always been so focused and “tunnel vision“ that he was never able to see anything else around him. Now he finally has the space in his brain to think about lots of things instead of hyper fixation. Also, Isabella seriously gave up on him in high school! That’s literally when the teenage hormones are running the hardest, and most likely time for him to start noticing her! Isabella, really?!
To explain why Doof has so much money, I believe he divorced in an at-fault state (probably one of the 3 states of the tri-state area) and keeps getting payments from his rich ex-wife. I mean, they share custody, Vanessa actualy lives with her mother and is with Doof on some weekends (probably divorced when Vanessa was old enough to choose who she lives with), yet Doof is the one recieving money from her. She must've done something to warrant giving him money after the divorce (considering it's canon the reason she wanted to divorce him was a frickin puppet, who's to say he didn't want a divorce because she cheated or something?) Also, he patented a certain tool for opticians to cure a certain eye problem. That was an inator that failed via actualy doing good, and he patented it.
@@nocursewm2938 It is heavily implied that while they're still on good terms, Doof is still salty about the divorce. The kickball episode when he yells at her she's no longer a member of the Doofenshmirtz family.
20:25 well. You're lucky my friend cuz their friendship transcends to another cartoon called "milo Murphys law". There was also pilot to failed series of owca agents where doof enlisted briefly as owca agent.
Act You Age is fun, but it's so liked because it's fan service that people waited years to see. In comparison to everything else, it's not a bad episode, but it's not one of the best. In fact, it's a relatively odd episode. (Phineas can build a roller coaster in a day as a kid, but can't figure out a way to intercept Isabella as an adult?) If someone asked you "What's Phineas and Ferb like?" this is the last episode you should show them... well, either this or the awful superhero episode. Also, you unfortunately missed the significance of many catch phrases and in-jokes. Phineas walking up to Isabella and saying "Watcha doin?" hits hard when you've seen the other episodes.
Perry has the jet pack… because he has to be able to get to bowling night with Carl and Doofenshmirtz! Duh! And Doofenshmirtz has money because a) he’s a teacher and b) an invention he created got him royalties, so he’s raking it in. 22:39: “Damn, she’s gonna kill it though.” Let’s be clear - if Isabella *wanted* to get world domination, she could. And she’s got Phineas and the others to help her do it.
You know how when a joke is made of a specific place, and people in that place are like "Hey, we’re not like that". But in Norway’s case, any time I hear a Norway joke, i’m laughing my ass off😂😂😂, mainly because i’m Norwegian
@zeldagameryt4018 Xavier and Fred were about the same age apart from Amanda as Phineas and Ferb were from Candace so probably not for another couple years.

Clearly Perry is still around because either the boys made something to extend his life, or after he turned good, Doofenshmirtz created a platypus life increase-inator
Just so you know, this isn't the finale. I highly recommend saving that for last. I also highly recommend watching Milo Murphy's Law too. It's equally as good
I think in this universe people are just Oblivious to people's love. It was obvious that candace loved Jeremy and he didn't notice. Not to mention Candace didn't know Jeremy really liked her.
imagine he reacts to The Phineas and Ferb Effect in Milo Murphy's Law Also there is a spinoff with Doof and Perry working together at the end of the series I think it was called the OWCA files.
So apparently a platypus can live for 20 years which fits bc the boys are like 20 here and they got him when they were kids so perry shouldn't be dead yet
I recommend watching Milo Murphy Law its a spin off and shows Doof has he stops crime and begins living his best life with non evil inators. It includes them just being good friends, also the school job pays alot as the school is kinda dangerous.
If you find weird that everyone is trying to get them together, don't watch Miraculous. The number of episodes where everyone is making weird plans to get Marinette and Adrien together even after she said she wasn't interested in him anymore... 😒
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaDooplivian yesss, honestly I can't stand Alya anymore. It's just the writing... She was a great character at the beginning, but the more the show progress, the more she became annoying. Like the whole Lie-la situation. "But Marinette maybe you can try more with Lila, you just don't like her because she liked Adrien". Like wtf, between "I am Ladybug" and "Oh I'm Lila and I'm Ladybug's best friend", what can't you understand?! Marinette should have used that argument loooong ago. And when Marinette was into Chat Noir, Alya was like "it's not that you don't like Adrien anymore, you just don't want to try and so you report your feelings on Chat Noir". Like she wasn't totally wrong, but that's your best friend. If she told you she likes Chat Noir, support her! Don't try any plan with everyone to get her with Adrien. The fact that it was ZOÉ from all the people, the one who knows Marinette since less time than the other, who said "did you ask Marinette" when everyone was making their plan, was something... 😒
It is very interesting seeing someone who hasn't been through the whole series watching this. An interesting thing about this episode, beyond the Phinabella story finally reaching the... beginning? (the end of the will they won't they bit but really the true story is yet to be seen, if we ever do) is that the teenage designs were made by a long time P&F Fan Artist who had caught Jeff and Swampy's attention, leading to them hiring her full time with the next series I believe. And. yes, Phinabella is what the fandom have been calling them for years.
Dan Povenmire has talked about how the episode originally ended with Isabella driving off, but at the last minute decides "no, we've earned it" and penned the scene of Phineas getting the ride and kissing her. Just thought I'd add something
I watched this episode when I was younger I really liked it but I don’t remember like any of it glad you watched it gave me an excuse to watch it again
So, Buford says, “Oh c’mon man, it was so obvious, she came over to your house every day for eleven years just to see what you were doing!” (7:03). And later Isabella said, “I kinda gave up when we got to high school….” (23:00). She was likely fourteen-years-old starting high school. Meaning that she’s been going over to his house everyday since she was 2 years old. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

They hit it out of the park with this series finale it's one of the few actual satisfying endings to a Disney series unlike one we will not talk about.... and its not Gravity Falls in fact people thought the show in question's entire final season was a bust.
Star vs?
@@angelbun-art Got it in one
@@angelbun-artthe forces of evil?
Technically not the finale for a couple reasons, (was the second to last regular episode of the original run with "Last Day of Summer" coming after which was also great, plus there's an at least two season revival coming up), but it was definitely pretty great yeah
If you’re looking for mor Phineas and Ferb episodes to react to I’d recommend “Dude, We’re Getting the Band Back Together” and “The Chronicles of Meep” both are pretty definitive episodes
I’d recommend “Finding Mary McGuffin” for the relationship between Doof and Vanessa alone.
You REALLY Gotta watch the shows and not just skip to the end
I swear. It's so fucking annoying.
This episode had me truly bawling in tears when I first watched it😭😭...which wasn't something I EVER expected to happen with this show😅😯
So mad respect to the guys writing this for evoking such emotions in an otherwise so silly show!
You want more Perry x Doof dynamic? There's a whole post-series special called The O.W.C.A. Files about Doof joining the agency (for technically the second time).
Yep! ☺️😁🩵💜
Been waiting for this one. Love Phineas and Ferb and the Phineas and Ferb videos give me LIFE
I've watched this episode so many times, I've seen so many reactions, and I never realised Vanessa had the car Doofenshmirtz just bought
Same
I avoided this episode for many years because i knew it would be sad
She must've done something to warrant giving him money after the divorce (considering it's canon the reason she wanted to divorce him was a frickin puppet, who's to say he didn't want a divorce because she cheated or something?)
Also, he patented a certain tool for opticians to cure a certain eye problem. That was an inator that failed via actualy doing good, and he patented it.
I think it's been established that he had a great divorce lawyer and his wife didn't contest the ruling.
@@nocursewm2938 It is heavily implied that while they're still on good terms, Doof is still salty about the divorce.
The kickball episode when he yells at her she's no longer a member of the Doofenshmirtz family.
Petition for Matthew to watch That Sinking Feeling to explain the Buford diaper gag
For how many holes this episode has, it's definitely one of the most iconic.
20:25 well. You're lucky my friend cuz their friendship transcends to another cartoon called "milo Murphys law". There was also pilot to failed series of owca agents where doof enlisted briefly as owca agent.
If you love perry and doof, you should totally watch a compilation of them together they are hilariousss as a duo!
I will point out there is a spin-off staring Weird Al called 'Milo Murphy's Law' which does continue Doof & Perry's story somewhat.
This was a real emotional episode for me, I cried
“Planning a date for their two best friends without telling either one of them”
See this is why I don’t like Blind Dates
Fancy seeing you here.
theres actually an episode that shows Doof's first day as a teacher! Its called Doof 101 and its at the end of the 4th season if you want to watch it
Perry has the jet pack… because he has to be able to get to bowling night with Carl and Doofenshmirtz!
I used to watch this episode basically on loop. I love it.
no need to cry mathew its returning for two more seasons so more songs to come even though this felt like the end really with time jump
Milo murphys law has some great songs and eps, most songs are parodies but that is to be expected with the actor for Milo
You know how when a joke is made of a specific place, and people in that place are like "Hey, we’re not like that". But in Norway’s case, any time I hear a Norway joke, i’m laughing my ass off😂😂😂, mainly because i’m Norwegian
Not only is Candace in Law school at this point she and Jeremy have had their daughter Amanda who should be around two.
What about a son? Candace did mention wanting a son named Xavier too
@zeldagameryt4018 Xavier and Fred were about the same age apart from Amanda as Phineas and Ferb were from Candace so probably not for another couple years.
How swampy was Crying after this episode is so sweet and povimire comfort him and just walks Off i'm Happy the most popular ships from phineas and ferb became canon
This man jumped from the first episode last time to pretty much the end here... 😅😅
This is the most anyone’s seen phineas and ferb without actually seeing phineas and ferb
Clearly Perry is still around because either the boys made something to extend his life, or after he turned good, Doofenshmirtz created a platypus life increase-inator
Both of these sound like great outcomes! ☺️🥰😁👍🏻
Let’s make a petition for a spin off with doof and Perry I want to make that happen
I’d sign that in a heartbeat!
12:55 yeah I think he made himself an excuse to be reckless so he didn't have to feel guilty about any problems he may cause
Just to be clear, this is NOT the finale peeps
imagine he reacts to The Phineas and Ferb Effect in Milo Murphy's Law
Also there is a spinoff with Doof and Perry working together at the end of the series I think it was called the OWCA files.
So apparently a platypus can live for 20 years which fits bc the boys are like 20 here and they got him when they were kids so perry shouldn't be dead yet
I wish at the end Candace showed up to call their mom and tell her phineas finally got with issabella, and she still doesnt believe candace
Can we all agree Linda isn’t a great parent to Candace?
They are most definitely aware of Phineas's triangle ness
Petition to make him watch summer belongs to you part 1 and 2 ??
I cried during the song it was just really sad but I love the happy ending
McKenna blocking Perry at 8:06 gives me some slight Garfield minus Garfield vibes
And how everyone got pissed off when Adrien called Marinette just a friend. It's like no one respects friendship in Miraculous! Which frustrates me!
fr
YES, LMAO! That's exactly what Miraculous is about. But funny enough, we/I still watch it no matter what.
Miraculous is the most chaotic secondhand embarassment filled series.. but it's worth ir, haha
Bro, I saw the thumbnail and I was so excited cause that’s my favorite episode!!!!!!
I really think that Phineas and Isabella’s voices mesh well together
It is very interesting seeing someone who hasn't been through the whole series watching this. An interesting thing about this episode, beyond the Phinabella story finally reaching the... beginning? (the end of the will they won't they bit but really the true story is yet to be seen, if we ever do) is that the teenage designs were made by a long time P&F Fan Artist who had caught Jeff and Swampy's attention, leading to them hiring her full time with the next series I believe.
And. yes, Phinabella is what the fandom have been calling them for years.
I’m so excited for the new seasons I wonder if they are picking up from here or continuing when they were younger
Dan Povenmire has talked about how the episode originally ended with Isabella driving off, but at the last minute decides "no, we've earned it" and penned the scene of Phineas getting the ride and kissing her. Just thought I'd add something
Platypus live for 20 years
"...what is the lifespan of a platypus..."
17 years.
you actually listened to my request! oh man I can't believe it!
If you're looking to do more episode reactions, the Star Wars special is a great time and stands on its own pretty well
That would be awesome 👌
In order to understand how Doof suddenly has money, you have to watch Milo Murphy's Law. Because reasons
21:48 sarcasm here is subtle and much more brutal. That's her style lol.
apparently a platypus has the lifespan of 17 years
I saw 20
I love this episode, though to be fair I love most episodes of this show
"I would watch a spin-off of just them" well, it was limited, and not very good but it exists and is called the OWCA Files.
So I had to find the most recent PnF video because you NEED to listen to "Chains on Me" and "Watching and Waiting." They are in my top 3 songs from the show. The other one is "Christmas is Starting Now." It's a song they put over b-roll but oh my gosh it's so good. Their entire Christmas album slaps. Highly recommend, especially coming into the holiday season.
9:00 he’s (doof) is saying that he wants a mid life crisis because everyone AROUND him is unhappy
"Perry looks the same!"
Of course he does. We all know he's immortal, don't we?
You should watch the Musical Without a Cool Acronym! It’s a parody phineas and ferb musical made by fans over zoom during quarantine! It’s very cool and they do covers of a lot of pnf songs as well as a bunch of songs from other musicals
the tall orange hair that work at OWCA is Irving
Love how Irving canonically went to work at OWCA :)
I love how genuine your reactions are
15:06 "It'll be like driving a REALLY FAST Ducky Momo."
Nice hearing Mathew I would've never recognized the the voices matched
Unfortuantly the Act Your Age timeline was erased by time travel events in Milo Murphy's Law.
I honestly consider each timeline their own separate universe.
This is a video I can get behind! Though honestly most of your reactions I can get behind.
Interestingly, Doof's future changes thanks to time travel in "Murphy's Law..."
