Hey bud, I want to repalce my nose gear spring. But it does not seem to come apart like others i have. Usually there is a screw that releases the piston so you can access the spring. I took the bottom plastic pieces off thinking that would do it. But nope. It can't just be the scissor link can it? Do i have to take the wheel axel bolt off to get in there, i guess?
Yes, that is correct. There is no screw holding the gear piston in place. You need to remove one of the C-clips. I removed the top one so the whole scissor link stays attached to the piston when it drops out.
@frankflyrc awesome, thanks for the info. Pretty sure this spring is helping to bounce her back into the air when i hit a bump in the runway at the speeds this one seems to need sometimes.
