    I immigrated to Canada for 4 years in the 1970s after serving during that Vietnam thing. Worked 3 winters in the bush doing seismic (oil exploration) work in far north Saskatchewan and Alberta. Really a beautiful country Canada is with a LOT of wide open country. But you've got to be tough enough to handle those winters. Experienced more than a few "white-outs". Met some good folks up north there..

      I was 18 when my parents decided to immigrate to Toronto, Canada in 1990. I have seen a few really bad winters in the last 32 years but I gotta be honest it is not as bad as some folks think. Yes there are days where you cannot leave your house but then we always have clear blue skies and sunny days in winter. I love the Winter season and cannot imagine living anywhere else in the world. Canada is truly the best country in world.

      They were just shoveling to a few metres until less congested lane they can get to. I had close calls on this day, but I really appreciated my new Mazda C30. It did its job. If I had my old car - Kia Rio - as I did six weeks prior, oh, Lord have mercy.

The only time we got stuck was an Xmas Eve during a windy blizzard. The engine kept cutting out from the wind . Once we turned around and the wind was pushing us we made it back to my parents' friends place.

      Why so tall? Thyroid issue? The Netherlands has the tallest people in the world. If you could go to school there , you wouldn't have to help anyone. Plus , I believe they give you one free pair of snow shoes once you pay your tuition fees. Wish I was tall though tbh because they always put the food food on the higher shelves ( which I have to ask a tall person like yourself to reach for me ) and I appreciate that..But , they always seem to put the pet food on the middle shelves ( which I can reach) and I don't have a pet. We had a Great Dane when I was younger I was able to ride him like a horse until I was about 17 when he died . Well I hope you get rid of the snow soon so it's easy for you to walk in ..👌🤜🤛

Once was a tiny spattering which had melted within few hours an the second time a few inches (if that) which again had melted by morning and for this amount of snow they shut all the schools, the main highway into cornwall an so many roads!.. except uphills, roads (not traffic) in the video are not that bad, this is drivable conditions with the right equipment and driver training, snow has not reached vehicle bottom unless they (lost control) ran into the snow bank and suffer damage, think in term of vector thrust, space out and be patient, are people just giving up and parking it on 401?

      Toronto is so used to mild winters and little snow, paved flat roads with everything conveniently located they are easily led into false dependent reality. As soon as I left I quickly moved into prepping for everything and stayed with that perspective. Down side is that I have to take my garbage to the dump pick up mail at post office. Upside is going to the dump and PO catching up with neighbors and local news. Whole other reality of more self responsibility.

    • @lvfreeAdventures
      @lvfreeAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tend to think that people sometime overestimate what their vehicles can do. I always encourage people to learn about car that you buy and how car drives in different weather conditions. Unfortunately, driving school don't teach that

    That's exactly why I always keep at least 1/2 gas tank no matter what in winter. It allows me to keep the car idling for 17 hours at half tank. So with good management, you can stay warm for 3 days.

    • @RajinderYadav

      17 hours, 3 days? stay warm??

    • @KA-eu9sy
      @KA-eu9sy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never let the gas tank go below 3/4 full. Keeping the gas tank filled up prevents gas line freeze up.
      Along with always full tank, I keep a blanket, water, extra scarf, mittens, hat, down coat.......everything but the kitchen sink just in case.

    • @masquereseau5635
      @masquereseau5635 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RajinderYadav you let the car idle for 30 mins then you shut it off for 1 hour and half. You just don't idle all the time. In case you stay trapped somewhere and you have to wait

    All those vehicles stuck and not one brings or has a shovel with them. These new vehicles are to lite get stuck so easy. I rememebr having a 71 Lincoln and we would just cruise in 8 inches of snow. Every winter we took of summer tires and put on the snow tires.. lol all rear wheel drive to.. but we were smart and prepared back than. No social media no billion dollar doppler or radar systems to give a 2 day advance notice of a storm to get ready for with the plows. Today they have all the technology and yet seemed to be caught off guard more than staying ahead or st least keeping up..

    Great to see all these immigrants experience what we did back in the 60s LOL~ if the news says a STORM is coming STAY THE FUCK HOME unless it's an emergency and I don't mean a box of beer or milk and bread. I lived through this in the North of Ontario all my life so this is nothing to me I helped 24 seniors clear driveways then went back home and had a hot chocolate and watched Netflix all day. Be smart if you want to be a Canadian traveler. Patience and help others is the key~
