    Thanks for the vid! I love the way the 3" CKC shoots and enjoy carrying it. Simply Rugged and Wright Leather Works make good leather holsters for it. I should note that I've had two problems with it: the Hand broke after about 400 rounds (repaired by my gunsmith), and the front sight came off twice(!), it's now screwed in with Rocksett adhesive.

    I’ve been really excited to get one. I want to get it soon since I’m 20 in a few months, so I have a year to train with it before I get my CCW permit. How has your experience been with carrying it?

    Can you do a range review with 135g and 158g .357 loads? Let us know how the recoil is. I’ve seen reviews that conclude .38 +p would be the choice for a carry load due to the recoil from full .357 loads on revolvers less than 30 oz.

    • @rugdman
      @rugdman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bro, first off... Love the name. I got a 98 American Standard strat as my main squeeze.
      I'll see what I can do in regards to the ammo testing. Next time we get a chance to shoot I'll make sure to get some videos. I did get one of my wife shooting and she definitely preferred the 38s lol. The 357 we were shooting wasn't bad although it was a little snappy. You could definitely feel the difference in power. The 38s weren't +P though.

      @@rugdman Thanks, man - I have a 2016 American Special ... the same one in my pic.... Strats rule!
      I’m glad that Colt brought back the snake guns! I’m doing research before I purchase & wanting opinions. It’s either the King Cobra or a S&W 686 4”. The King Cobra is just a better conceal option, IMO.

      Im right handed
      I always wrap the thumb of my left hand over the top of my right thumb
      If the shooter grips with thier left hand over the top of thier right hand it allows the shooter to relax the trigger finger more and have a smoother trigger pull

I had a loose front sight I had been meaning to tighten up and they did it for me. It shoots great now. Still one of the best revolver triggers out the box. Accurate too. RUGD…..Take a look on the strap right above your forcing cone.
    I almost bought one a few weeks ago….and the night before I did, read a review where an owner / reviewer noted several knife like “grooves” in the strap right above the forcing cone.
    They were clearly incurred during the machining process and not by design.
    Not a good place for an error.
    But the review was from 2019…..and I was confident any errors would have easily been corrected.
    I inspected the gun just before purchase. I was wrong. Three grooves, each smaller than the other, right above the forcing cone.
    Unacceptable.
    I realize this presentation is a bit dated, but I’d be interested in what you find.
    My point is, I question whether or not Colt’s build quality has stood the test of time.
    I don’t think it has.
    Sad.

      @unclebob4964 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rugdman I’m very curious as to what you found….if anything.
      They had another new King Cobra in shop this morning, but they’d already put a zip tie around the cylinder to kept “tire kickers” from playing with it……and I didn’t what to have them cut it just to find a flaw in a gun I wasn’t going to buy IF it happen to have one.
      They really are beautiful firearms.
      I understand their customer service used to be non-existent, but I understand they’ve been bought out by CZ, so maybe a whole new ballgame….!?
