    I had a dear friend that I had known for about 50 years.... He was an Episcopal Minister for over 60 years, he has since passed. For the past 25 years or so he was living in West Seneca. One daughter is in East Aurora the other daughter is in orchard Park. He had a permit for many many years. And I had seen the permit . It was issued at the Erie county office I believe it was and that's where we went when he turned in his permit. He decided he didn't want to have it anymore. It was a full carry it had none of the ridiculous limitations on it that I deal with here down in Nassau county. If you had a totally clean record , and that was what you wanted you got a full Carry..... And once you got it it was good for a lifetime. No renewing every 5 years.....

    I love all these methods of getting your knife out and then the action did involve odd contortions of your hands and fingers and not fully grasping the knife in the first place. Under stress or a tactical situation, a self-defense grapple, etc,…. you had BETTER have a GODAMNED good fucking, FULL grip on that goddamn knife and know how to get it open without all that fancy tactiCOOL bullshit

    RUGD…..Take a look on the strap right above your forcing cone. I almost bought one a few weeks ago….and the night before I did, read a review where an owner / reviewer noted several knife like “grooves” in the strap right above the forcing cone. They were clearly incurred during the machining process and not by design. Not a good place for an error. But the review was from 2019…..and I was confident any errors would have easily been corrected. I inspected the gun just before purchase. I was wrong. Three grooves, each smaller than the other, right above the forcing cone. Unacceptable. I realize this presentation is a bit dated, but I’d be interested in what you find. My point is, I question whether or not Colt’s build quality has stood the test of time. I don’t think it has. Sad.

      @@rugdman I’m very curious as to what you found….if anything. They had another new King Cobra in shop this morning, but they’d already put a zip tie around the cylinder to kept “tire kickers” from playing with it……and I didn’t what to have them cut it just to find a flaw in a gun I wasn’t going to buy IF it happen to have one. They really are beautiful firearms. I understand their customer service used to be non-existent, but I understand they’ve been bought out by CZ, so maybe a whole new ballgame….!?

    Makes perfect sense, let’s not allow someone to learn how handle or fire a handgun until they can “legally” handle or fire a handgun. Similar to not having a learner permit for driving a car. NY gun laws are made by individuals who obviously have zero knowledge of guns.

    Can't comprehend any reason to care about this opening technique. Spidercos suck for the most part. This must be a yuppie thing that city folk can do with high priced knives since they don't need to cut anything. Half of my edc folders are automatic push button for easy one hand open and close. The knives I carry are used for cutting jobs about 25 times a day. More importantly being open & sharp is their only best feature.

    • @rugdman
      @rugdman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't get push button here in NY so an easy way to flick the knife open helps. Don't get me wrong... ya, sometimes I use it as a fidget tool... but it also gets used to cut things and is pretty good at staying sharp as well as being easy to sharpen.

    So just any regular every day, law abiding, joe can go and get a pistol in NYS? I thought you had to have a reason to full conceal carry, like if you work with criminals or you handle money. Or do those only apply in the city? I’m just wondering if any regular working person could go and do this if they meet the state’s requirements.

    • @rugdman
      @rugdman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      NYC is another beast. Good luck getting concealed carry there without spend a lot of time and money and having connections. The rest of the state varies in time and specific retribution yes, you should be able to. Erie County for instance used to be much harder to get concealed carry off jump. You would normally have to get your hunting/target license first for a few years and then apply for concealed carry. Nowadays, as long as you are a law abiding citizen with no red flags on your record, you should be able to get full carry.
