I think Cindy Laper plays dulcimer on this which explains why it translates to an open tuning so well. Agree with the former comment about going all out and tune it DADGAD in case you use the 2nd string.
Hey Cam. Ive been spending the last few hours watching this and playing and really enjoyig your version and tutorial. Still have a few spots to work on the timing but it will be under my belt in a few days and can't wait to play it effortlessly. thank you so much. I have subscribed and look forward to more stuff from you. I remember wanting to learn this song when I started playng a few years ago and just the fact that it was D-tuning scared me away. Learning and playing the guitar is such and awesome journey and seeing how posibilities open up
When I was young (pre-internet), I carried books of sheet music from the library, day in day out, tried to figure, learned everything eventually by the ear. I guess that taught me skills I still don’t know I have. However, today (with internet), I can let young cats like you do the work and just find e v e r y t h i n g on TH-cam or elsewhere. Cause not only am I old, I’m also lazy. What a long way of saying thanks! This sounds marvellous & looks like I will need a couple of days to learn this... and then learn to sing it while playing it. Have to tell ya, feels challenging right now. But I (still) like challenges! Cheers!
I would look through the guitar magazines at the music store and try to memorize chunks of tab for songs I wanted to learn because I couldn't afford the magazines. The internet has definitely improved some aspects of life.
Thanks for the tutorial! Heard this cover recently and now I'm playing it to death :D Quick suggestion: there's no reason not to lower your B string into an A to make the tuning an open D (DADGAD) so it has a nicer feel, even though the B sting isn't played it can sound nicer if the string is picked by accident.
@@CamKnoppMusic I thought you did a pretty good job m8 seeing as you don't normally do tutorials and anyone with eyes can see where your two fingers are...it's not like it's super complicated. This helped me- thank you!

Vato Loco no problem! Hope it helps
Perfect👌 Thanks
Low E strong sounds too high when I drop D. Are you sure you’re not tuned lower? Thanks
It's a half step down too I believe
Awesome, thanks a lot!
Glad I could help!
thank you!!!! life saver!!!!
No problem, glad I could help!
Thanks dude, but you got to work on being specific. You’re just saying “Finger goes here, it goes here”
Call out the string man. It’s very confusing.
I will be sure to work on that for any tutorials I may do in the future. Thanks for the feedback!

Cam is this exactly the same as Iron & Wine's version other than transposing up?
Al Cath Yes it is
What are the chords on the verse? You just say open and index finger on finger fret of b string. The tab online also has discrepancies.
Relative to the capo, its just a G chord to a D chord.
This is fantastic, thank you so much! Only the audio quality could be better :c
InterferenciasRG no problem glad it helped! I will work on the audio quality in the future
Do you have any tab?
No sorry
Cam Knopp okay thanks for responding though!
Couldn't follow at all. Unclear what you're playing by eye, the sound cuts off sometimes, and you're not specific in describing.
that's not even close to what is played in that song
If ur reading this comment, Check out "MNL48" version of time after time, they have very nice voices, comment me if u liked MNL48's version
Complicada su versión.
El tema está en C, así de fácil.
Really spotty and unclear.
