I think PL and FIFA refs should have a mic to communicate with the fans as to what was called and why. For example, in the case of red cards, they should have to look at the camera and tell the audience something like "The player brought down the opposing player with a slide tackle from behind in a dangerous way. Therefore, it is a red card to number 14." This way, it's clear what's going on and why.
