Hi Jacob, thanks for the comprehensive video. I have WiTech I am trying to use on a 2005 KJ. This model does not show up in the vehicle list, there is only a 2006 KJ. I tried that and WiTEch is unable to talk with my ECU. It then asks for a VIN. Will I get anywhere if I pay for the Tech Authority subscription? Thanks in advance. Jim
I believe that you will need the drb3 to work on that year and model jeep. the micropod2 does come with the drb3 emulator and it used to work great on those earlier pre canbus vehicles, but since I have updated to a newer laptop I cannot get the drb3 to work anymore. I will be trying to figure that out and will make a video when I can get the drb3 emulation to work on the post windows 7 os.
ok so yes, I just checked the chrysler diagnostic tool compatibility chart and the 05 liberty requires the drb3 system. so I will try and figure this out because I also need the emulator for a bunch of my dakotas. here is a link to the compatibility charts.... oemtools.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Chrysler_2012_AppChart.pdfa58c84b5.pdf
@@daytonagrayghost I had the emulator working on my old laptop perfectly but then I got a new laptop and I am having issues getting the emulator to work. But as I said I will try my best to get it going again, and will make a video when I do.
@@daytonagrayghost so I have been looking into your issue with the micropod2. So, it seems that the 05 liberty does require the use of the drb3 emulation feature of the tool. With that said, not all microchip units have access to the enhanced features. To use the drb3 feature, you must use the witech 1.0 program in combination with a micropod2 that is authorized to use the enhanced features. So if I were you I would contact the place that you purchased the micropod2 and ask if your unit does have that ability.
I’ve tried to work offline for transmission quick lear and have gotten a prompt for vin. Once I enter the vin it tells me vin not recognized. Am I doing something wrong?
@@highdesertbadlandinggargam2432 hmm the 06 liberty should work with the micropod2. 06 was the first year of the canbus systems on the liberty. here is the compatibility list. I will do some research and see if I can figure anything out for you. I am wondering if that would need the vci wipod for some reason? I wouldn't think so because the micropod2 was the direct replacement for the vci wipod. oemtools.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Chrysler_2012_AppChart.pdfa58c84b5.pdf
Also when registering, if in the uk change the region on the tech authority website to Europe if setting up a UK account
Thank you for mentioning that, I didn’t even think of it.
