Yup, knowing multiple languages is really good. But, what's with the hate and prejudice towards those who don't? A lot of people use the whole, need to be bilingual for better opportunities as an excuse for their weird obsession and hate towards non Spanish speaking Hispanics. It's a good point. I could teach my children to speak English and French. I mean, they'll be bilingual, so there shouldn't be a problem.
I'm first generation and my Spanish is perfect, I love my Mexican culture and my future kids will grow up to know and love it also. It would be devastating if they forgot their raíces. Dont let la cultura die. Arriba mi gente alv! ❤
Kelly Gonzalez But what about your American culture? You are Americans. This attitude looks strange to people outside the US that you all want to be something other than American. American culture, American nationality, American pride. You are an American rather than a Mexican so you should be more proud of being an American because that’s what you are.
@@IslenoGutierrez are you fucking kidding me man why is it bad for Mexicans to be proud but if an Irish or an Italian says something it's totally cool man get he fuck out of here
Proud Mexican American ! This right here is why alot of Americans think Mexicans don't belong here, if you don't want to be an American you shouldn't be here. It's not patriotic to claim another country, you either want to be an American or you don't. It's not the same thing as claiming a Italian/Irish heritage because thats used as a racial/ethnic category, when someone says they are America with Irish blood they mean ethnically not nationally. Mexican who move here but don't call themselves Americans and they wonder why 99% of Americans are working on rewriting the laws to remove birth right citizenships to deport people who have even been born here let alone moved here. It's rediculous you move here but claim a second nationality, that's basically treason and it's bullshit
@@robode1945 Mexicans come from the Mexica tribe. Making it an ethnic group. They are related to the Native Americans of the southwest who speak uto-aztecan languages.
I appreciate this sketch. My mom and dad immigrated here from India and me and my bro have no real connection to Indian culture. I still speak Tamil, their language, but my first language is English and I don't understand Bollywood. It's like, all of a sudden the good guy and the bad guy start dancing and singing.
Slaying U i don't speak Spanish, but i don't talk shit about Mexicans. i don't identify with Mexicans, because im American first. I am a Mexican American. I was born in Texas. Im not ashamed of my heritage but at the same time, I know i grew up on Disney and Cartoon Network, so why would i be any different from the white kids who don't speak German? Ive been to Mexico twice in my whole life. I refuse to talk shit about the country, because people like trump will always see me as If i just hopped over the border, even though my family has been here for over 3 generations and more than 100 years.
+My youtube I'm mexican and I don't buy into any type of hate against anybody. I was just pointing out it happens. My only criticism towards the US is this persistent need to segregate their own. "Mexican"-american who never grew up in Mexico, "African"-americans hundreds of years removed from Africa... why? They are just americans born and raised in american culture. It's so absurd to me.

real Mexicans speak English and Spanish watch Liga mx and the walking dead. we also eat tacos and steak medium rare. we drink tequila and coors light. tamales and turkey for the holidays. and we love the united states but will never forget of who we are and where we are going. I'm here and I love it , the USA is my country the only one I will die for but I can also say viva Mexico cabrones and that's OK
You'd die for America? But you say "keep living Mexico?" That's like saying if America and Mexico went into a war you'd fight for America but secretly be wishing Mexico will win. I'm 3rd generation Mexican and I think I'm pretty fluent in Spanish but there was a war betweeen Mexico and America you'd bet I'd want Mexico completely defeated.

My personal opinion: No one gives a second thought about it if a German-American doesn't speak German, or if a Korean-American doesn't speak Korean, so there's no reason a Mexican-American should feel bad about not speaking Spanish.
Because most of them are 3rd gen by now. Ask your Asian friends, their parents parents were born here. Asians and euros have been crossing into the U.S far earlier than Mexicans.
I think it's different though because a lot of European parents learn English or only speak English and only speak in English to their kids so they don't really have to speak in a different language with their parents whereas with Mexican Americans, most of the parents don't know English and it's like weird if the child doesn't even know the language that their parent speaks. How are they supposed to communicate with each other?
Except they do, Europeans always laugh at Americans who claim they are German/Norwegian/Swedish/etc. and don't speak a word of the language, have never been to the country and/or can't even locate it in a map. I'd be surprised if Asians didn't do the same. Abandoning one's own cultural and linguistic heritage is frowned upon universally.
I will always have a love for Mexico like no other !
That's great, it's very useful and allows you to see the world in a broader context when you no two different languages. Just think of all the literature they'll be able to read in its original text! Basically doubling the library!
That's right. I've always seen the importance of learning at-least two languages maybe even 3. What better way to connect with someone than speaking their language and learning about their culture. Very important :)
I know people who do that. It's often immigrant families who want to teach the kids their original language, but the parents also need to learn English. The parents will speak in their first language and the children will respond in English.
There are no 1st 2nd or 3rd generation Mexicans. These people are Mexican-Americans and since they live in the US that makes them more Latinos(Chicano if they're in Cali). It's good to have strong relations with the culture you identify with but there is still a difference than from being from there. Most Mexican Americans have no concept or a thorough understanding of actual Mexican history, political relations, and culture which varies from state. Most US Mexican-Americans don't even realize that "Mexican" isn't a race or that Mexicans can be white, black, yellow, tan, brown etc.
But what if they do. I know more Mexican history than your average Mexican. I've read more Mexican literature than most mexicans. Most Mexicans barely finish prepa. They don't know shit about the history of Mexico beyond the basics. Also, Ive seen 15-16 states with my own eyes. Otoh, I'm 100 percent fine not being Mexican in your eyes. Just your reasons don't make logical sense. If Jews can be Jews outside israel, Mexicans can be Mexicans in Texas or Arizona or California of all places.
The lower class Mexicans and chicanos have more in common than the upper class Mexicans and the anglo Saxons...we already know that thank you very much
It shouldn't be complicated, that happens when people expect somebody else to be a certain way. Everyone should focus on the things they have in common, not on what they don't.
+Karen LM It's also ignorance. A Mexican who grew up in the U.S. will obviously have difference than a Mexican who grew up in Mexico. There's just culture differences. But the important thing is that we have to accept each other for who we are.
Like the germans. Millions of them moved here and german is only spoken by a handful of counties in the rural midwest (excluding PA Dutch, spoken around where I live).
+Thomas Rivera I'm talking about before the Spaniards came. it was Aztecs, Tlascaltecas, Mayas. The practice is dying. I am Spanish Basque and not to familiar with the language and no classes are offered here.
M Simpson I know, it is dying. Yet, that's I also put "heritage" to learn about your ancestry and embrace all of it, if not then you deny your homeland and history.

The problem is 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation Latinos face a lack of acceptance of their culture. Speaking Spanish is treated as inferior rather than an advantage. Carefully consider how newer generation Latinos carry themselves in native origin countries. You see a reluctance toward speaking the language although he/she clearly speaks and understands spanish. Which is a shame. I think its important for us to rise above this stigma. As it inhibits our ability to advance among other cultures.
YES it's a stigma bc they don't want to be associated with immigrants who just came here. They want to become an American who speaks English first(look more assimilated)
The comments are confusing me. So when people talk about first generation and second generation do you guys consider first generation Mexicans, Mexicans Americans with parents from Mexico or Mexicans who were born and raised in Mexico? Because I thought 1st generation meant you’re Mexican American with parents who were born and raised in Mexico and that 2nd generation Mexicans have grandparents from Mexico but parents who were raised in the U.S.
I am 5th generation but I don't speak spanish at all like sometimes mexicans will speak to me in spanish and I am like dude I don't speak spanish and they'll get pissed it's really annoying.
That's nice. There is no point in hating people over something that is inevitable. Whether 3rd or 6th generation, the culture will most likely disappear unless they live in a closed off minority community.

Who else hates it, when Mexican-Americans say what's up ese, oralé vato loco, and when 1st generation Mexican-Americans don't know how to speak proper Spanish. 2nd generation you can talk it crappy, and 3rd generation I'm cool that you can't speak Spanish, I mean you have assimilated completely by that time.... I'm not even 1st generation, I'm a Mexican immigrant. But seriously being Mexican is awesome.
I'm Chinese-American, so, what the fuck, I have nothing deep or personal to contribute to this debate. However... even I know Sábado Gigante. It was like the most stereotypical concept of a Spanish television show whenever I flipped past the Univision stations on New York TV in the 90s as a kid. That and A La Cama Con Porcel.
I’m 2nd generation but live the life of a 1st generation Mexican🇲🇽😊 Dance, speak Spanish, visit Mexico every year, live in a Mexican household but with out strictness👍
Maybe it's because I come from Spain and I'm not much into Mexican culture (I'd like to!), but I find this really funny lol. If I were a Latino in US, I would definitely ask my parents to speak ONLY Spanish at home. PS I love you Mexico!
Well it really depends part of the USA you grew up in. If theres hardly any latino culture influence you most like loose your heritage roots and Americanized to what seems to be the norms.
This is so insulting. This is BS!!!! I'm a 5th generation and my children are 6th generation Mexican Americans and we speak Spanish and we are so in touch with our Mexican roots & culture as well as our American roots. It's how you are brought up and the importance of your roots and culture that the generation before you installed in you to Not Be Ashamed of your Mexican Culture or your American Culture.
hotboiso 4L not how it works lmao... Mexican isn’t a race first of all, most Mexicans are either full white, full native or mixed white and native. That DNA wouldn’t just disappear

im a first generation but i used to be like the 2nd generation guy after i moved to america when i was 8. like i wouldnt care for anything mexican or anything because my american friends didnt know anything about it, but as ive grown up i learned to be proud of my culture and got back in touch with my roots and i gotta say its probably the best feeling ever knowing you have an entire culture and history behind you full of some of the most unique features on the entire planet. i used to hate musica norteña and corridos, i thought they all sounded the same but now i got playlists stuffed full of that shit same with foods, used to hate things like pozole and flan or arroz con leche and whatnot and prefered pizza and cake but im back to the good stuff
Believe it or not, but there is also diffefence between many states in Mexico, North compared to South, East, and West. Or Tex mex vs Californian Mexicans, and even Midwestern Mexicans.
im a mix of both but i feel so awkward when i meet someone who is Latino and cant speak Spanish especially first generation...Like when there parents are talking to them in spanish and they answear in English...thats just me tho
I see lots of comments about whether being able to speak Spanish as a Mexican or not is necessary and all I gotta say is that, why wouldn't you want to learn? As a Mexican (100% born and raised in Mexico) I was taught English at a very young age and got used to it pretty quickly because I spent some time in the US so even though I've never lived there I grew up learning both languages and being bilingual, specially when it comes down to two of the most spoken languages around the world, is honestly amazing. Not saying you should feel ashamed if you don't speak Spanish but you are missing out on so much, I know that if it wasn't for English I would have missed out on a lot of experiences that today I'm grateful for and cherish so much. So if you are Mexican and can't speak Spanish I recommend you try it, specially because you probably have people with whom to practice and while learning a language finding native speakers to talk to is the hard part.
I’m a 4th generation Mexican American in High School, And I’m Extremely assimilated, I don’t connect with Mexican culture at all, and I don’t fit in with kids at school. I can barely speak 3 words in a row of Spanish, But I’m proud of being an American, But I guess Mexican food is pretty good.
My parents are both from Mexico but I was born here. Having grown up with a lot of other kids like me or immigrants but honestly I couldn’t stand it. I don’t know it it was them or if it was a California thing because I didn’t like the people growing up (I couldn’t stand Cali people). I always think of myself as American with Mexican background (and French and Spanish and Native before). I get annoyed when people give me looks for not knowing much spanish because they act like Spanish has been the language of Mexico since forever when it’s barely been about 500 years.
1st generation Mexican. Decided to go back to Mexico and live. Going very well. Fluent Spanish. People here think I'm from here. When I was born in California.

Pika Lean no not really because once their classmates are in middle school and take Spanish they’ll have the chance of taking a third language while their other classmates that knew English at first will only be learning their second
I'm 4th generation. But I identify more with the 2nd generation. How do I connect more with my raza and heritage ? It seems a lot of times 1st generation or native mexicanos will look down on you or call you a fake Mexican for the littlest things. And some even resent you rather than try to uplift your spirit to connect deeper with your raza.

nbaoscarrnba how should it be our “priority”? I was born and raised in the USA but I know my roots and I want my children to acknowledge and love their roots. USA was made out of immigrants. Each immigrant brought something knew to make this the country what we know today. You should be proud of your roots and also proud wherever you are. But just because you live in the USA shouldn’t mean you can’t explore you’re culture and be proud of it.
@@helloitzme4019 i am proud. But what im saying is not everyone raised like u and me. And thats ok too. Im saying we shouldnt look down on them because its not their fault
Naraian Cepeda There is no problem with being proud to be Mexican...if you are from México. But if you are not from México and are American, there is a problem when you are proud to be Mexican over being proud to being American, especially since in that position one would not be Mexican, but an American with Mexican heritage. I’m not saying you can’t be proud of Mexican heritage or roots, because you can. But when that is more important than being proud to be American or takes center stage, well that’s a problem. I can’t recall ever hearing a Mexican being proud of Spanish ancestry more than being proud to be a Mexican. One should not be more proud of Mexican heritage than being an American. Otherwise, jump a one way ticket or a ride to México! ¿Sabes lo que estoy diciendo? ¡Estoy orgulloso de ser estadounidense!
Worked with a Mexican-American girl at a hotel in Fresno, California when I was in college. Her grandma was from Mexico so she's second generation I suppose. She doesn't speak Spanish. Her grandma does of course and her mom is somewhat conversational, but she can't speak it at all. She said Mexicans are always speaking Spanish to her and when she replies "I don't speak Spanish" they give her this look like they don't believe her.
@@itsyaboigio8038 I have a question, so since both my parents were born amd raised in Mexico, and I was born in the U.S, does that make me 1 gen or 2nd gen?
For anyone confused on the generation thing. If both your parents originally from Mexico came to the U.S and gave birth to a child, that’s is 1st generation. If your parents had more children after you then they are still considered first generation. If this is the case and yourself had children in the U.S then this is 2nd generation. If your children have children in the U.S this is 3rd generation and so on and so forth.

My ancestors immigrated to south Texas in the late 1600s...we've been here for a very along time. BUT my Momo (abuela) grew up on a rancho and was the second oldest of 13 kids. She couldn't finish school and didn't learn very good English. We lived with her and she partially raised me. So, thanks to her, Im bilingual and can throw Spanglish too. There are certain things that I've taught myself to connect with my roots (not just Mexican but Spanish, Andalusian, German, Comanche and Apache Italian, Basque and Gypsy). I try and embrace it all! Learned a bit of German and Basque but still have a ways to go. Im trying. I really can't claim to be just Mexican American. One, because Im like 7th, 8th or 9th generation... My family was in Texas before it was Texas...before it was Mexico, before it was part of Spain and when it was Tejas... I know Im an American of many Nationalities.
My daughter is first generation Guatemalan American and second generation Mexican American. She loves soccer and when we speak to her in Spanish she understands it more than English.
I'm German and speak it,but that's not always the case.So many people here make claims to their ethnicity and yet know nothing about it.It's good to see someone taking the time to point that out.(I am first generation,by the way)
Then, when you live in a border city, things get even more complicated...It's like living in both countries. Mexicans from the south think you are not Mexican enough, and I'm like (WTF?) I'm Mexican, Chihuahua IS part of Mexico, Not my fault that you have the distorted notion that being Mexican only means being from the center and you are blind to Northern Mexican culture. Sometimes I wish I was american or at least Mexican American .__. (Can't stand Southern Mexicans)

It's a good point. I could teach my children to speak English and French. I mean, they'll be bilingual, so there shouldn't be a problem.

This right here is why alot of Americans think Mexicans don't belong here, if you don't want to be an American you shouldn't be here. It's not patriotic to claim another country, you either want to be an American or you don't. Understandable. Bollywood is not in Tamil. Unless you watch it dubbed I guess.
Ever seen Grease?
I'm a Mexican, living in Mexico, and I DON'T LIKE BANDA MUSIC. I did finish my elementary school.
+Juan Francisco Gregorio Andrade Don't do it, compa.
+Juan Francisco Gregorio Andrade AMEN !
+Juan Francisco Gregorio Andrade I hate Banda and Norteno and Corridos. They are just terrible :P
Hahahahaha calma!XD
Oddly enough, mexicans wouldn't consider neither to be "mexican" in a cultural sense. "Pochos" they would call them.
More like "chicanos"
+1isay2k both words are correct.
we are americans so we only care about what we think

i don't speak Spanish, but i don't talk shit about Mexicans. i don't identify with Mexicans, because im American first.
I'm Mexican and my kids are mixed because my wife is Trinidadian. My kids are bilingual and feeling proud of both cultures.
Black Trinidadian, Indian Trinidadian, or Asian Trinidadian? Just wondering
White Mexican/ black Mexican/ olive skinned Mexican/ yellow skin/Asian Mexican? Medicos population is super diverse

Do a video of Mexican nationals v. 1st generation!
Do they have enough bandwidth? Just askin'.
There is a lot of racism or sentiment towards 1st generation from Mexican Nationals. I would love to see a video on that topic
We’re kind of the same lol since our parents thought us everything from Mexico the only difference is that we’re bilingual
@@EUNICE69 I disagree. I think there's a big difference. You cannot compare someone who grew up in Mexico with someone who wasn't.

real Mexicans speak English and Spanish watch Liga mx and the walking dead. we also eat tacos and steak medium rare. we drink tequila and coors light. tamales and turkey for the holidays. and we love the united states but will never forget of who we are and where we are going. I'm here and I love it , the USA is my country the only one I will die for but I can also say viva Mexico cabrones and that's OK
Hugo Aguilar damn right
Yes! This! I always wanted to say this but couldn't find a way to word it haha.
Im Filipino American
Except they do, Europeans always laugh at Americans who claim they are German/Norwegian/Swedish/etc. and don't speak a word of the language, have never been to the country and/or can't even locate it in a map.
I'd be surprised if Asians didn't do the same. Abandoning one's own cultural and linguistic heritage is frowned upon universally.
But if one is born here, one should not be faulted for giving preference to American culture and English language, if one so chooses.
I will always have a love for Mexico like no other !

Hell, I'm 2nd generation Mexican and my kids are gonna know Spanish xD
That's great, it's very useful and allows you to see the world in a broader context when you no two different languages. Just think of all the literature they'll be able to read in its original text! Basically doubling the library!
That's right. I've always seen the importance of learning at-least two languages maybe even 3. What better way to connect with someone than speaking their language and learning about their culture. Very important :)
Same
+Gerald Cruz same
+Albert Mora why not
The thing is, I can't speak español but I understand it like for some reason when someone speaks español I can't help but say the response in english
I know people who do that. It's often immigrant families who want to teach the kids their original language, but the parents also need to learn English. The parents will speak in their first language and the children will respond in English.
Quichuas in ecuador do the same. We tell them oh just like my dog, he understands but dont speak it
WTFrench Toast just say Spanish gringo
I really relate to your comment
WTFrench Toast It's too hard for the brain to 'think fast' in another language, LOL!
Its not "Jose" its "José"
Jose also exists.
In California, it is illegal to give your child a name using accent marks. That is why the name is Jose instead of José.
my dad's name is jose lol

Is it???
There are no 1st 2nd or 3rd generation Mexicans. These people are Mexican-Americans and since they live in the US that makes them more Latinos(Chicano if they're in Cali). It's good to have strong relations with the culture you identify with but there is still a difference than from being from there. Most Mexican Americans have no concept or a thorough understanding of actual Mexican history, political relations, and culture which varies from state. Most US Mexican-Americans don't even realize that "Mexican" isn't a race or that Mexicans can be white, black, yellow, tan, brown etc.
Omg that's so true I always have to explain to other Hispanics that Mexican isnt a race
Chris that one kid Beautifully said!
The lower class Mexicans and chicanos have more in common than the upper class Mexicans and the anglo Saxons...we already know that thank you very much
pahwraith Knowing a lot of Mexican history doesn’t mean anything...if you weren’t born in Mexico then you’re not Mexican
I am from Mexico and I also live in Mexico, and I think this is why a lot of Mexicans have a complicated relationship with Mexican-Americans
It shouldn't be complicated, that happens when people expect somebody else to be a certain way. Everyone should focus on the things they have in common, not on what they don't.
It IS Two completely diff countries so you can't expect a mexican American to do things they way a mexican would. It's just different.

If you don't speak spanish and don't know almost anything about your heritage, then your not latino nor hispanic!
You want to take it a step further? Spanish is not your true language.
M Simpson explain?
+Thomas Rivera I'm talking about before the Spaniards came. it was Aztecs, Tlascaltecas, Mayas. The practice is dying. I am Spanish Basque and not to familiar with the language and no classes are offered here.
M Simpson I know, it is dying. Yet, that's I also put "heritage" to learn about your ancestry and embrace all of it, if not then you deny your homeland and history.
M Simpson awesome, never met a Basque. Mi tataros abuelos eran Adalces.

Pretty much. My dad is 2nd Gen, this is why his parents never taught him Spanish
YES it's a stigma bc they don't want to be associated with immigrants who just came here. They want to become an American who speaks English first(look more assimilated)
I'm Irish and I found this great!!! We have a large salvadorian community in DMV and they are great people.
I'm romanian,my mom use vaseline for colds and fabuloso to clean the house too haha. And I know even the camisa negra song..

You sure your mom is not secretly adopted and is actually of mexican decent? That's checks off on all things mexican
Btw if you are latino & born in the states & can't speak spanish you're fine. Our language is English & spanish comes second not first.
Finally someone gets it
Agreed 🇺🇸 🇲🇽
So if you speak Spanish first then English then a third language in highschool that would be even better.
You should make one about Latinos raised the USA vs latinos raised in Latin America. There are many cultural differences that you could talk about.
I am 5th generation but I don't speak spanish at all like sometimes mexicans will speak to me in spanish and I am like dude I don't speak spanish and they'll get pissed it's really annoying.

Shouldn't that be 1st generation Mexican-AMERICANS?
+mugdays that makes more sense to me no?
I'm Chinese-American, so, what the fuck, I have nothing deep or personal to contribute to this debate. However... even I know Sábado Gigante. It was like the most stereotypical concept of a Spanish television show whenever I flipped past the Univision stations on New York TV in the 90s as a kid. That and A La Cama Con Porcel.

Not just Mexicans. I'm Puerto Rican and it fits
Orale! Ben vendidos a la Raza....
Maybe it's because I come from Spain and I'm not much into Mexican culture (I'd like to!), but I find this really funny lol. If I were a Latino in US, I would definitely ask my parents to speak ONLY Spanish at home.
PS I love you Mexico!
Rodri Prada its very difficult as generations move on...once you married outside your ethnicity it’s over and by 3rd generations it’s all over
Well it really depends part of the USA you grew up in. If theres hardly any latino culture influence you most like loose your heritage roots and Americanized to what seems to be the norms.
Pretty much. I’m 3rd Gen, Mexican, that was me growing up in Virginia, no other Latinos in the area until high school.
This is so insulting. This is BS!!!! I'm a 5th generation and my children are 6th generation Mexican Americans and we speak Spanish and we are so in touch with our Mexican roots & culture as well as our American roots. It's how you are brought up and the importance of your roots and culture that the generation before you installed in you to Not Be Ashamed of your Mexican Culture or your American Culture.

but Juanes & Vergara are Colombians hahah & I heard of Juanes ever since I was little
The point is that the second generation won't know about them because they are not famous or common in the states, at least that's what I understood

Super Baez most of us are cool, the 2nd gen in the video is more like 3rd gen
im a first generation but i used to be like the 2nd generation guy after i moved to america when i was 8. like i wouldnt care for anything mexican or anything because my american friends didnt know anything about it, but as ive grown up i learned to be proud of my culture and got back in touch with my roots and i gotta say its probably the best feeling ever knowing you have an entire culture and history behind you full of some of the most unique features on the entire planet.
i used to hate musica norteña and corridos, i thought they all sounded the same but now i got playlists stuffed full of that shit
same with foods, used to hate things like pozole and flan or arroz con leche and whatnot and prefered pizza and cake but im back to the good stuff
Not you referring to the usa as “America” 😂😂😂😂 You’re not Mexican at this point
I'm a first generation and since I live in a such a white community area I related more with the 2nd generation more 😅 although I can speak Spanish
Orlando Obeso Angulo You mean white American right? Not white Mexican...
Im third generation and I still call soccer futbol
Believe it or not, but there is also diffefence between many states in Mexico, North compared to South, East, and West. Or Tex mex vs Californian Mexicans, and even Midwestern Mexicans.
based off the way 1st/2nd gen is portrayed in this video, i'm like a 1.5 generation lmao
bruh im 1.5st, my dad was born in mexico and came over and my mom was born here to immigrants
My exact situation! So when people ask me if I'm first or second generation, I don't know what to respond. Cool to see there's others like me!
Angel Castillo if you are born in the US to an immigrant parents you are a 2nd gen
Same except Mexican mother and my dad is US born to Mexicans
This was so spot on 🤣. 2nd Generation here. We speak spanglish.

+Edgar Rojas that would make alot more sense.
exactly
+Edgar Rojas why ? you're saying the younger guy is just american ? i think they are including the family aspect
That moment when you're 1st generation but you'r more relatable to the 2nd generation and do the same things lol
1st generation Mexican. Decided to go back to Mexico and live. Going very well. Fluent Spanish. People here think I'm from here. When I was born in California.
I'm Puerto Rican but hey, my mom uses fabuloso. so I'm like .5 I guess jaja?

Pika Lean no not really because once their classmates are in middle school and take Spanish they’ll have the chance of taking a third language while their other classmates that knew English at first will only be learning their second
VxLxCheeTos why should the other kids speak proper Spanish what benefits will they get from that?
Dennis Flo idk bro.. maybe knowing more than 1 language!
Dennis Flo what benefit does a person that knows 1 language have?
I'm 4th generation. But I identify more with the 2nd generation. How do I connect more with my raza and heritage ? It seems a lot of times 1st generation or native mexicanos will look down on you or call you a fake Mexican for the littlest things. And some even resent you rather than try to uplift your spirit to connect deeper with your raza.
Ehh I’m American af and I’m happy with that cuz well it’s my country and who I am
Have Mexican ancestry and that’s cool great food but that’s as far as it goes for me
miguel campos The best comment here. An actual American of Mexican heritage that admits and has pride in being an American instead of running around portraying themselves as a Mexican. Great comment 👍
Yup. I speak spanish and like a lot of things of the latin culture but it pisses me off when hispanics look down on ppl like u. We live in america and this culture should. Be our priority
nbaoscarrnba how should it be our “priority”?
No manches!!! 😂This is so accurate!

I think it's good that the second generation has assimilated to a degree.
Agree
For anyone confused on the generation thing.
If both your parents originally from Mexico came to the U.S and gave birth to a child, that’s is 1st generation. If your parents had more children after you then they are still considered first generation. If this is the case and yourself had children in the U.S then this is 2nd generation. If your children have children in the U.S this is 3rd generation and so on and so forth.
1st generation is more Mexicano

Boccaccio sounds Italian, the term “Latin” is a label meaning you are from or descend from a country in which the main language is derived from Latin...Italians and their descendants would technically fit the term, haha! Stupid label!!!

I’m a first generation Mexican American and I can totally relate to the first Gen M.A 😂😂
I'm German and speak it,but that's not always the case.So many people here make claims to their ethnicity and yet know nothing about it.It's good to see someone taking the time to point that out.(I am first generation,by the way)
Proud to be 1st generation!!🇲🇽 The rest 2nd, 3rd and 4th start loosing their roots
I am 2nd generation
As Gloria Anzaldua once said "we didn't cross the border, the border crossed us" that's true in many cases.
It’s funny that I’m a first generation and I don’t like Banda
I like some banda but rock n roll is my religion I find it so hilarious that many claim to know a lot of Mexican music (cause they love Banda and Corridos) but don't know Los Locos Del Ritmo Three Souls in My Mind Los Dug Dug Los Teen Tops Caifanes Los Apson Revolucion de Emiliano Zapata Javier Batiz
This video is a little confusing because not everyone counts the generations the same. Some think 1st gen are those who migrated here when they were young and some think it's when you were born here from parents who migrated.
lmfao i was thinking of juan and jose and WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this is highly inaccurate but still funny 😂
Honestly, as generations pass, Spanish will be forgotten bit by bit
Issa Lazybones Sadly True
Thank god that I'm a first generation Mexican 😌 I grew up listening to the same Spanish songs that my parents heard lmao definitely gonna teach my kids Spanish
1st generation all the way
I'm Indian-American, why am I watching this.
I cringe when people pronounce palabras de español like they’re palabras de inglés
Ezequiel true
Tru dat
Ezekiel Why didn’t you write your comment in Spanish is you are so “authentic”?
Actually, generally, it would be a 3rd generation Mexican who doesn't what the 1st gen Mexican is taking about....
if youre born in usa youre american and if youre born in México youre mexicano y puntooo
Princess Lisa and that’s sad
Princess Lisa I’m also a son of immigrants and proud of my roots but I’m American first
Princess Lisa it’s great that you are proud of your roots?
Dennis Flo You Fucking Coco-Nut. You nothing but a Special ed kid. You Fucking Russian Troll.
Conquistador de America Your comment above proves that Latin America have a long way to go. You assumed I am a Russian troll just how you assumed the US is a Latin country and belongs to Mexican and Native American.
If you say your Mexican and don't speak Spanish.... your not Mexican
I'm Mexican and don't speak good Spanish so....
And you are proud?
Felix Rosario are you talking to me?
that's dumb because if someones parents are Mexican then they are too
Spanish is from spain
I'm first-generation Mexican-American, but both of my parents didn't finish grade school so they could only pass down what some people here call house-spanish, which is basically simple Spanish with simple vocabulary. I actually learned to read and write in Spanish through the Bible.
2nd and 3rd generation kids ughhhh they're so annoying
why?
+jo mama He's just jealous because he feels some bizarre need to wall himself off from the other races and cultures in his country, while well assimilated 2nd generation kids retain some of there ancestral culture but fit in to their own society. He feels like an outcast because he separated himself and he is annoyed to see people that look and talk like him but don't burden themselves with the same issue.
who are you referring to? 1st gen guy?
+jo mama The OP.
Agree they're sooo annoying and ignorants and always try to be like the Gringos.
