The past is a distorted memory, the future is a concept. This moment is all there is, ever has been, ever will be. I wear a watch, it broke years ago, but I still wear it because it reminds me that it is always now 🙏

That is easy to say, much more difficult to apply without any background knowledge and experience.
I slightly disagree with his saying "don't hold to memory".
You have to. Because... it is also how you grow. How you look back at old memories, somethimes with a slight nostalgia, sometimes with a deep anger, sometimes with love - and then something inside you is slowly changing too. You slowly grow internaly too at all those points, simply by going back to your older memories.
At the end, sure - you may let it all go, at some point of your internal development, abd then you may concentrate on "now", the "present", living the moment so to speak.
But at some point: DO hold on to memories, because it is part of a growing process too, and at some point you may discover that is is also a road that actually helps you to understand that it is all about living "now".

You can really do both, enjoy the moment and also
take a few pictures. 20, 30 years down the road, the feeling, the memory will be diminished but digging up the old photos and looking at the people with you, that may be gone now, at the place you once enjoyed will bring a jolt to the good memories you had before, priceless.

Masturbation is next to impossible to transcend, so is one's temper, that is what Christ meant when He said to turn the other cheek, very difficult and to achieve any of this letting go, a powerful Master can help and Falun Gong has that, no other practice does. Once all attachment is over, we will return home to Heaven and then will realize that here is a sewer by comparison.

i remember after my daughter died, (when i was in process of getting a degree in digital media arts)
i took my camera equipment to hawaii for an education break, and was sitting on this beach and saw this TRIPLE YES TRIPLE rainbow coming my way across the ocean, i felt i couldnt experience the beauty and joy of the moment just taking pictures, so i took 1 snapshot if this incoming rainbow phenomenon and laid my camera down on the sand, i stood up and walked towards the incoming rainbow and suddenly a tall blond man on my left and a tall blonde man on my right grasped my hands and lifted me up in the rainbow as it misted upon us all,
right after that i quit my education real eyesing that i just wanted to experience life within the magical moments instead of trying to document the moments from outside of the actual moments experience,
later as i looked at the images i had been taking, i saw my daughters face in the clouds of this magical rainbow, i proceeded to paint that image on a canvas knowing i got to EXPERIENCE the beauty of her essence within the moment itself,
    i will never forget that

Photography has been something that has brought me more into the present.
Macro photography showed me a world that I didn't know about. You can suddenly zoom in to the eyes of insects, the fuzzy bodies of bees, the mouthparts of butterflies. Marvelous thing that you would never have any way of knowing about without the lens.

Nothing wrong with taking a few photos. You are not missing out on anything. Great to have those memories. Live your life and do what makes you happy, not what others believe what will make you happy. Tomorrow is not promise. Tomorrow does not exist. Now is all we have. In the end nothing matters. We are all winging it and we are all on the same sinking boat that inevitably ends in tragedy. When the brain dies consciousness dies and we will cease to exist and eventually be forgotten. Now just about everyone has a high-resolution digital camera of virtually limitless capacity and the output can be shared instantly with the entire world. Life is like a movie-an illusion where consciousness manifests into 8 billion forms (bodies) to experience the drama of existence. Each of us (individualised consciousness) plays roles as heroes, villains, and everything in between. When the story ends, we die, forget, and return in a new role, beginning the cycle anew in this never-ending film. At its core, life is a profound game of attachment and detachment, teaching us to master the delicate balance between the two.

My parents were picture people. Everywhere we went they wanted to bring a camera for photo or video. I never liked being put in front of a lens and posed for a snapshot. We have very few photos of me past age 10 and my mom once in a while will mention this with a somber tone. When I was a teenager I finally figured out how to articulate my displeasure for being photographed to my parents. I said, "Just remember it. If a place or a piece of life is so wonderful you should be able to remember it always. I don't need a cheap photo of myself to trigger a memory. If I forgot it then it must not have been that special." Now this may be horrifically flawed thinking to some but, it's been great for my memory bank. For some reason the recounting of a memorable experience between my parents and I feels special as well because we both have to use our visualization in our own minds to see it as we remember it. How many scrap books are buried in the drawer that get flipped through in minutes and put back for another decade? If there were some fire or catastrophe to destroy those physical volumes of memories they'd probably be lost forever because you didn't imprint the memory deep enough in your mind. You may grow old and diseased in the brain and forget the simplest things but, those truly special memories will always be there as flashes of light in the darkness.

Try everyone(take yourself out of bad thoughts, forward or backwards, live now, feel happy , and this one component (between them all) is crucial! 😁😋😊😏👍🏽. So go with it , and let this, in a way, be a mantra! If you do so (I’ve watched carefully to energy, and life, and personally beliefs, since I was 5(I’m now 35) so for 30 years , And watch the magic happen right in front of your eyes and physical self. It’s no lie, OR joke. Just try it for 3months… and watch what you can manifest and make reality. By just staying happy, never thinking bad thoughts(block them out with good thoughts and motives) and see what happens 😏😁😊👍🏽. At least try. Even if it sounds odd, and outa all sorts , try, I can promise you’ll see change. Don’t give up, trust and try. It’ll eventually happen and become faster and faster(momentum;) Take my word. You don’t give up on a video game if you die first level! You know the game’s possible to win….. so in the same, keep doing it, and you’ll soon enough see your uplift of levels, and it’ll start to happen 😏😌😉! Love you all!!❤. Stay happy mfs 😜. It works .. don’t take my word for it, butttt don’t give up first try(like a game). ..and you’ll eventually see the turn around + 😮😂😊. I've spent my life working with cameras and there's an old joke in the industry that goes: "What does a cameraman's kids do to have fun?" ... "Watch other kids having fun."

Thats what I miss about drinking. Had to quit due to various issues.
It forced me to live in the moment. Didnt feel compelled to take pictures. Didn't worry about the future. I'm sure that's the main appeal of drugs... Aside from the chemically addictive aspect.

People are WAY too obsessed with photos and videos these days. Think of all the millions of people who existed before they were invented. And they were just fine.
