EMOD-PACE final project video

This video provides insights and reflections on the achievements of the EMOD-PACE (EMODnet PArtnership for China and Europe) project which established a long term ocean data collaboration between the National Marine Data and Information Service of China (NMDIS) and the European Marine Observation Data Network (EMODnet). The collaborative project ran from February 2020 until December 2022 to promote international ocean governance and support the implementation of global commitments through closer collaboration between Europe and China. This has been achieved by developing new information products, improving the sharing of marine observation data, marine expert knowledge and by establishing a close working relationship between EMODnet and NMDIS. While the project has ended, the legacy and collaboration continues to further our knowledge about the behavior of the seas, assist those who are relying on high quality marine data and data products at global level and to protect and sustainably manage the marine environment.
The project which was funded by the EU Partnership Instrument (EuropeAid/139904/DH/SER/CN ‘Strengthening international ocean data through the EU’s ocean diplomacy with China’) and is a key EU contribution to the EU-China Blue Partnership for the Oceans.
