sorry to be off topic but does someone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
Lovely effect. I use WP for leaves in amongst sugar flowers. The airiness makes it perfect and more importantly is so much less weighty on a delicate cake. Thank you x
Love these. Both have their applications but the wafer paper doesn’t take that long .. all for last minute projects and time saving . Thank you for sharing x
Can I please ask: what is the ideal temperature to store these wafer flowers? And how long will they last? I'll need to make these a couple of weeks earlier.
@@marianoellyncastro9093 You are so sweet, thank you Maria! Keep them in a dry area at room temperature. If you work in a humid area you can seal them in a plastic box with silica gel packets until you're ready to use them.
An amazing work just i want to know what is the wafer paper because I'm from morroco and I've never heard about this paper and wanna know if it is edible or not ?? Tanks
I know some people will just tape with non toxic floral tape, others like to use a small cocktail straw around the wire before inserting :) all my links are in the description box below the video
thank you very much for this beautiful tutorial, you are very good and I admire your work very much😍 I have a doubt ... which of the two sides of the wafer paper is the right one, the smooth or the rough side? Thanks a lot for the answer
Hello!! Well done, superb! I've watched a lot of your flower tutorial videos and you make really nice videos. I love the narration. But could you show how you assemble your flowers to the cakes? My curiosity is when you poke into the cake, do you simply stick into the cake itself? Do you bundle them? TIA!
Hi Kimberly, thank you for watching! I'm going to be covering that in my upcoming online course :) I insert them individually, don't usually bundle them.
Hi! If I wanted to add color to the waferpaper, when would I add it? I was thinking of using dry petal dust to create a light, airy blush color. Thank you!
You definitely can add dust when the petals are dry! Alternatively you can add a very very tiny amount of colouring to the liquid you use to soften the wafer paper
Thank you! I recommend not putting it in the fridge. However, I did put wafer paper in the fridge and it only started losing its shape after 2 days at 75% humidity. You will have to experiment with your fridge!
@@FinespunCakes merci de m'avoir répondu, c'est vraiment gentil de prendre la peine de le faire. Du coup, j'ai encore une question. Les fils que vous utilisez ont quelle mesure en gauge?😇
Hi Yvonne! You can use just water (this is what I usually use now), if your environment is very humid you can mix 50/50 vodka and water so it evaporates faster.
your explanation , video along with details of every product and colours used helps immensely
Beautiful, so delicate, definitely something special about white on white wedding cakes, so dreamy! 😍
I agree! Especially with the right light they are magical 😍
It was so unique technique I saw now ❤️❤️ beautiful
Thank you!

I love doing the same! They're so ethereal and I love the watercolour look they give too :)
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and techniques. ❤️
Very artistic and beautiful
Thank you so much 😀
Awesome work,
Thanks Maureen!

Thank you! And agreed, a real time saver versus sugar flowers. But love both on different types of cake!
I love your tutorials. well done
Thank you!
Wonderful tutorial. Ive never seen this done
I'll definitely do it in a smaller cake for my niece!
Such a great idea!!
They look beautiful!!
Thanks for sharing :-)
Thank you for this video. Loved it 😍, saying hi from Ghana🇬🇭
Thanks Mabel! Hi from Canada :)!
Can you use piping gel to glue the flowers? You do an amazing job.
Yes that might work with wafer paper :)
You are my new FAVOURITE cake sensei. Thank you for this AMAZING tutorial!

You're welcome! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much for your video ☺️
Thank you so much for this video! 🥰
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching :)
These are beautiful. Is there an alternative to vodka that is not alcohol based? Thank you
I've seen people use a few drop of glycerin with water. You can use water just be careful not to brush on too much :)
i love this chanel and tahnk you
Thanks!
An amazing work just i want to know what is the wafer paper because I'm from morroco and I've never heard about this paper and wanna know if it is edible or not ?? Tanks
It’s usually made of potato starch and water and vegetable oil, sometimes rice starch added too. Definitely edible!
Do you need to prep the wires in any way before placing them into the cake? Or are they food safe already? Is there a brand you love? Thanks!
I know some people will just tape with non toxic floral tape, others like to use a small cocktail straw around the wire before inserting :) all my links are in the description box below the video
Do you apply the flowers and leaves on the cake by sticking the wire directly into the cake?
Hi, beautiful, great tutorial. Do the wires need to be treated at all before sticking in to the cake?
thank you very much for this beautiful tutorial, you are very good and I admire your work very much😍 I have a doubt ... which of the two sides of the wafer paper is the right one, the smooth or the rough side? Thanks a lot for the answer
I don't really pay attention to which side but I think people say the rough side is the side that should be up!

Thanks also much! I was wondering as well. Since the wire is paper covered do you need to insert into a straw as well? Thanks. Love your cakes!
Such a great video thanks for sharing, oh and your engagement ring is beautiful lol it was quite distracting 😄
Hah! I will let my fiancé know he chose well :P thank you!
Me encantó la voy a poner en práctica y te mando fotos por IG!
Amazing! I can't wait to see :)

Yes- food safe tape and/or use a small straw.
@@FinespunCakes thank you
How to make this wafer glue...wafer and water or wafer and votka??
lovely as usual . have you stopped doing youtube videos ... ?
On pause until weddings slow down, should be back to it this November :)!

How far in advance before using them can they be made?
BTW... THANK YOU AND BEAUTIFUL WORK!!
I've made these up to 2 weeks in advance :) just keep them in a dry area. And thank you!
Please let me know if i Can make powder of remaining cut pieces and add for making glue??
Yes! Absolutely I love using it for that :)
@@FinespunCakes thanks for your reply😊
When you want to colour the leaves do you still brush them with the alcohol?
Yes, I mix the alcohol with food colouring. See my palm leaf tutorial if you'd like to see how I do it :)
What I can put rather than vodka
Hi! you can use 2 Tablespoons of water mixed with a couple drops of food-grade glycerin to hydrate the petals.
Beautiful 😍 can you tell me what the dimensions of the cake you put these on are?
Sure! bottom tier 9"diameter x5" tall, middle 7" diameter x7", top 5"diameter x4.5".
@@FinespunCakes thank you! 💖
Could you share how to arrange Different types on cakes?
Absolutely! Great idea. This is something I'll share in upcoming online classes for sure :)
can i put color on that wafer paper flower?is it ok if i use gel color for that?
Yes you can add gel colour to the vodka/water mixture :)
Bonjour, je n’ai pas bien compris quel est le mélange dans le petit flacon?
Hi, it's vodka and water mixed together. 75% vodka and 25% water to soften the petals.
@@FinespunCakes merci de m'avoir répondu, c'est vraiment gentil de prendre la peine de le faire. Du coup, j'ai encore une question. Les fils que vous utilisez ont quelle mesure en gauge?😇
@@brigittebureau702 sure! in the description box below the video you can find it. 24 gauge for the flowers and 26 gauge for the leaves.
What can i swap vodka for?
You can add a few drops of food-grade glycerin to about a tablespoon of water instead of the vodka.
I couldn’t quite hear the mixture for softening the paper anyone help please have hearing aids.
Hi Yvonne! You can use just water (this is what I usually use now), if your environment is very humid you can mix 50/50 vodka and water so it evaporates faster.
Extremely time consuming! Looks beautiful though 🙂

I think you can do auto-translate to Spanish if you turn on CC then go to settings>subtitles>auto-translate
are you just poking bare wires into the cake , not allowed in the uk
No, the bottom 2 tiers are fake cake. I use non-toxic floral tape and cocktail straws to stick the wires into the real cake 🙌🏼
