I did the same thing for year's. My customers are happier that they can move them around. Its a bit longer to do but it keeps me in the custom bracket. I still use the plastic ones of its a single bottom pull out
I started doing this when I had a customer asking for me to adjust my fixed location like how I used to do it. It just made my life easier. I now make about as many of them as I have leftover solid wood from other projects. This way I always keep up
That's a nice system, my next kitchen has a pantry with roll-outs. Going to use your system. I always try to talk people into drawers but could this time.
Hi Tom. The actual drawer box doesn't take much more time other than you have to Edge the front of the two drawer sides. It's making the four wooden parts to make the rollouts adjustable is what takes the time. It's just because they're made of solid wood and then they have to be bored and then sanded and finished. Otherwise yes making a drawer or a rollouts the same amount of time
What kind of undermount slides do you use? Speaking of... can you make a video showing the installation of those? I struggle with getting the measurements down and aligning the drawer with the mounts. Thanks!
That's a good point I think I will get on that at some point.. I use a track made by a company called salice I like them because I've never had a service issue with them and they are cheaper than Blum.
Henry, if I make a wide drawer of about 26” and 18” in dept (front to back) for a chest of drawers that will have doors mounted to a face frame. Would this application work with using a 1 1/2” block mount like you did there for the sides to mount the slides? I guess my question is does it matter how wide my drawer is if the dept matches the slide, 18” in this case? Thanks.
Hi Fred. If you're using side-mounted ball bearing glides. Then your depth is not that important. But if you're using the undermount glides yes it's very important to get the depth right.
Thanks Henry. My wife wants a chest of drawer with doors that cover the drawers and I think this is these tips will work for me. I like the under mount slides you’ve been using and hope to do what you just demonstrated. I always find slides a little intimidating. Question? I’m probably stating the obvious but the cabinet dimensions have to be a certain size for the slides to fit properly?
I hope to do a video of showing the magic numbers for all these different types of drawers. I agree they are intimidating at first. Here's something to keep in mind. If you're using this type of track. And you use a 5/8 drawer side. The deduction for your drawer from the opening of your box is 3/8 of an inch. If you are using half inch for your sides. The deduction would be 5/8. Hopefully that helps
And when you have something larger that won’t fit in a drawer like a stand mixer or crockpot that you wish stored out of the way when not in use but easily accessed do you just make a comically large drawer or are those appliances no longer used in the year 2023?
Man I love this channel! That's got to be the best way to use undermount slides. Thanks
I'm hoping to do a video on explaining exactly how to make the right size of drawer to fit into an opening and what track to use. Thanks for watching
Great idea.I've used the offset poly blocks in the standard shelf pin holes, but I like this for a more robust setup.

Brilliant! guess who's making pantry roll out drawers just like this (as of now, lol ) This guy!
KEEP TEACHING !
Dave I'm glad to hear that.

Excellent! Many thanks.
Nice joy, Henry! Have you ever considered giving our DOVOH laser level a shot? Cheers!
Thanks for the response. No i have not.
@@henrymostert2125 Got it, Henry! If you change your mind, we'd love to get your thoughts on our DOVOH laser level. Cheers!😊
Simple and looks great
Great channel! Just curious why the rollouts take more time to put together than regular drawer boxes.

That's what I thought. Appreciate your reply.

Henry, so the drawer box has no hardware mounted to it? It just fits on the slide mounts and can be taken on or off if needed?
Hi Fred the drawer has a clip on the underside of the drawer box that hooks on to the drawer track. It can be removed easily
Thanks, I appreciate your reply.
In 2023 we don’t open doors to get to shelves. We use what we call “ drawers”. One movement instead of three to get a pan in or out.
I hear you I prefer a bank of drawers myself.
