Cancer took my Dad to heaven in April. I love hearing about heaven because I like to imagine what he’s up there doing. I cannot wait for us all to be together again.
Firstly let me say I am sorry to hear about your dad and while I do not personally believe in an afterlife it is still good that you found something which is helping you with your lose, but please be cautious with this belief because my mother like you could not accept that her parents were gone and because of her desperate want to be reunited with them it led left her vulnerable to beliving the more cultish dominations of Christianity such as the Mormons and spiritualism.

My husband of 40 years died one month ago today. In my grief, I have great peace knowing that with his last breath, his suffering was finally over and he was with Father even before I let go of his hand and put my head on his chest and wept.

When I lost my husband and family I read a book with good advice. The book is How to Survive the Loss of a Loved one. It is still in print. It's the one with two hearts in the lower front cover.
It has helped many people over the decades.

I just listened to Bill O'Reilly interview someone on Global warming. Decided I'd rather hear about Heaven.
@Barry Midikiner Well Heaven is a future event, climate will be an issue in the far far far long gone past.
Children grow & play in heaven. My baby girl was born 1 1/2 most prematurely when I had a complete abruption & I lost 2/3 of my blood. God spared my life but was merciful by letting me have my baby for 9 days before she passed. I had 2 dreams of her. I was sad as I would never get to play with her or hear her laugh. I got to play with her in 1 dream & hear her laugh while playing with other kids. Both dreams had the same scenery & both ended the same exact way. God is good. God gives & takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord.

My beloved wife was called to glory on 19th April 2021. She was just 28 years and left me and my kids alone. She accepted Jesus as her personal saviour 5 years ago and lived a faithful life. It's very hard to digest and I am going through the pain like never before. But now I am comfortable by listening to the word of God. Hoping to see her and reunite with her when I go to God. I want to see her as soon as possible and be with her eternally ever and ever. Lord Jesus, please come soon.
I completely understand how you feel brother. I too lost my wife and am raising a son by myself but THANK GOD ALMIGHTY for his grace that we will be reunited one day.
Imagining the sorrow that would befall a nonbeliever losing someone should be a motivator in our lives to share the good news of salvation as much as we can.

I attended your church regularly with my son many years ago. In my heart you were our Pastor. You helped me by phone several times and I have never forgotten your heart for God. I want to say Thank you. Most recently, The Lord put you on my heart and prompted me to search your messages on TH-cam just in the past week or so after my mom passed away April 25th and she is in Heaven with Lord. Praise God! Your messages have really been such a blessing in the midst of this time of grief & relief that mom is with the Lord. (Grief and Relief is something only God can God cause you & I to be successful in dealing with at the same time. The Lord has been placing Heaven on my heart even more....to become & even a greater focus as well.

I needed to hear this... growing up Jehovah's witness I was taught not to believe we could ever go to heaven...only a specific chosen few. On December 2nd 2018 my fiance passed away she was on the way to work fell asleep at the wheel and hit a pole and passed instantly. The morning of her funeral services I woke up around 5:00 a.m. with myself on the floor watching this TH-cam video this exact same one talking about heaven when I woke up it was towards the middle of the video when I woke up the video was playing and I was looking around like why am I watching this why am I sitting on the floor I continue to watch the video and pastor got to the part where he said heaven was like Disneyland how everyone wants to get there but not work for it when I heard that I have broke down and started crying because the day before my fiance passed away we had just booked the trip for our son's first birthday and it was going to be at Disneyland ever since that day I subscribed and been following pastor for about 3 months or so I was at so much at peace knowing that my fiance went to heaven the day before she passed we had took our son to see Christmas lights when we turn the radio on so the music was playing for the Christmas lights it just happened to be on a Christian program the pastor was talking about if you believe in heaven and if you believe in Jesus as your savior I lower the radio down and I asked my fiance if she believes in heaven and Jesus as her savior she said yes. We will go to church every Sunday I know my fiance truly believed in the Lord is our savior and I truly believe now even to this day with all my faith and beliefs that there is a heaven and at this that we live now is our afterlife because once we pass we will be an eternal life in heaven with all our loved ones

I've had super natural dreams and visions and I have seen the rapture. I was raptured in my dream and was scared as it occurred. There was a ball of wind in the sky and it pulled me up. As I ran away, the concrete on the sidewalk I was running on ripped off the street and I couldn't run or jump as I was too high in the sky. So i was pulled up while hanging onto a square contrete slab from the sidewalk. But it was alarming mostly because there was many people on earth that weren't being raptured...

I doubt you would remember me Greg but I grew up hearing your sermons and always attending Harvest Crusades and bringing my friends (one in particular where Phil Keaggy electrified the Anaheim Stadium crowd). You (and Ravi Zacharias) inspired me to pursue studying apologetics and leading my local chapters of Campus Crusade for Christ while studying history at UCLA then at Harvard for graduate school. Although I no longer believe in the supernatural or in the existence of any god or gods, I admire that you are someone who believes what you are preaching, you are up there with the greatest like Billy Graham. I don't agree with your dismissal however that, "Atheists don't understand the hope of Jesus ..." Not true. I, like many others, was a sincere Christian and my walk with God was my entire life. But thank you Greg for being honest and speaking your mind. I actually hope YOU are right, I would love to go join my lost family members in heaven many of whom I have lost. I just don't find there to be an evidence for this to be the case and unlike Pascal's Wager erroneously assumes, I cannot fool myself into believing something I do not. KC M hi if your going to claim the Bible says something please actually find the verse. The Bible unquestionably teaches immediately after a person dies he/she goes to heaven or hell. Hebrews 9:27 Luke 16:19 the richman and lazuras story. 2 Corinthians 5:8. So yeah please give actual verses before making claims because either 1. What you claim doesn’t even exist in the Bible 2. You’ve misunderstood/misinterpreted what scripture actually says.

Pastor, the third heaven is actually Hades - the place of the dead.
"heaven" is a spiritual space for spiritual beings to live in and operate.
Earth provides physical space for physical creatures to live in and operate.
On earth, land and sea are different living spaces for land and sea creatures.
• God made the first heaven - the "Heaven", for His spiritual creatures (angels) to dwell in.
• He also made a heaven on earth's surface, i.e. second heaven, so that angels can operate in, on earth .
• He made the third heaven deep in the earth for souls of the dead, and also a bottomless pit for evil spirits to be imprisoned.
Hades, the third heaven, has two compartments: Paradise and Hell, the holding places for the godly and ungodly dead.
The criminal hung on the cross next to Jesus, followed him into Paradise, where the godly dead are taken good care of. Actually, the godly dead of the earth are presently alive, living in their body and soul in Paradise.
Paradise is the "Father's House where there are many rooms.... " where Jesus go to make a place for each of his own that they may be where he is. Jn 14:2
God and Jesus are in all three heavens, for the three heavens adjoin one another.
Paul did not actually go to the third heaven, as he thought.
For no one enters Paradise or Hell can return to life on earth until the set time has come.

Followers of Christ have the promise of heaven. Jesus talked more about Hell to warn everyone that it is a very real place.
Barry Midikiner we all have free will. When you are told to evacuate or you see black smoke and you choose to ignore the warning that is not the fault of God. Before those devastating hurricanes, millions were told to evacuate, those that didn’t put themselves and first responders at risk of death. God can take a tragedy and turn it for good, many call on the name of Jesus and are saved during these times. What has happened in your life that made you turn away? You can only call God a vile name for so long before He hardens your heart and blinds your eyes to the truth forever. I ask you to seek Him, ask for forgiveness and tell Him you are sorry. We don't go to heaven, folks. Read your bibles. Deut 4:40: Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever. The earth given to mankind--for how long? FOR EVER.
Why would the meek want to inherit the earth if the rest of us will be in heaven? (Matt 5)

Jenna Caruthers Jesus says he is going to prepare a place for us where God is. Heaven. He wouldn’t talk about heaven and us being with Him if we weren’t going too. The new heaven/ New Jerusalem is after Satan is done with for good and God restores the earth. Until that time when believers die we go to an intermediate heaven.

I think Laurie and many others (myself included) use the word "Heaven" and "the New Kingdom" interchangeably. Broad strokes, they're the same thing, but there is a biblical distinction. Christ does come to reestablish his kingdom at the end of the age, where the earth is renewed to the way God intended it to be, where sin and death is gone, and we rule with Christ forevermore. Streets of gold, beautiful waters, trees, etc. That's what most people are talking about. Heaven is this holy, "other" dimension where the throne of God is now but will someday come to earth when the new kingdom is established.
So, there is a distinction and you're right to notice, but for broadstrokes purposes, I think it's fine to call "The New Kingdom" and "Heaven" the same thing, and vice versa.

Well Greg Laurie that atheist site was correct you do not have any evidence of heaven all you have is what you have read from a book and we both know that the Bible is often in error and demonstrably so, which means you have a belief in heaven and a faith of what you read in the Bible as being true, which would be exactly the same for theists of other religions which have a belief in a paradise in the next life.
If you do not think that there is a future judgment for you then why can you not do whatever the heck you want to do? In all honesty, Christians who think this way scares me they are only good because of fear and only good because they think that they are going to get a reward for being so? Well as an atheist I do not need rewards for doing actions which are good I do good because I want to do good and as for not doing whatever the heck I want to do, well there is the fact that I know a legal system actually exists, in reality, one which will take away my freedom if I act in ways that do not conform to society and as I believe in this life then I do not want to spend it in prison, and I cannot avoid these punishments by saying I believe in the Judges son and he will serve the punishment I should be receiving either. On top of that, I am part of an empathetic species so if I did something which harmed others then I would have to live with the guilty feeling associated with such actions.
You claim that we crave and it is hardwired in us but I have never had such a craving for such a place maybe I got wired up wrong but firstly I do not think that such a place could possibly exist for me given that the same native that tells us of heaven also tells us of hell in which Yahweh would torture those that do not meet his standard will be tortured for eternity, now given that there is a strong possibility that at least a portion of your loved ones will end up in hell then I have to say that I cannot possibly be happy when I know my loved ones are being tortured I simply cannot be that self-centered and I honestly do not know how anyone could be happy existing in the knowledge that at least some of their loved ones are being tortured, especially if they are in the presence of the one who is carrying out such evil.
If your loved ones are in Hell, they made a choice, as you must, that they refused to accept God's gift of salvation, provided by the sacrifice of Jesus, God's only begotten Son, on the Cross of Calvary. John 3:16. God's love provided an avenue of rescue from the punishment we all deserve because of our sins against Him. If we reject his Son, God's Word is clear that we bring on our own condemnation.
@@heldforeverbygod Yes maybe my loved ones committed the sin of wearing mixed fabric, ate seafood, or maybe they did not kill their child if they cursed at them? Of course, they would deserve to burn for eternity for such things according to your religion, but that is because your religion is monstrous, so much so that the overwhelming amount of Christian choose to ignore a lot of the things that the Bible either forbids or instructs them to do.

What are you trying to say that when the Bible repeatedly repeats the same message throughout different books, it does not mean what it clearly repeatedly says and in reality means something totally different?
