Israel, Magog, and the Rapture (With Greg Laurie)

- We’re all aware of what’s happening over in the Ukraine right now. They’re under attack from Russia, and people have asked the question, “Is there any significance to all of this prophetically?” Let me pull the camera back and say this: I believe we’re living in the last days. I believe Christ could come back at any moment.
There are signs of the times the Bible tells us to be looking for. And in fact, Jesus likened it to labor pains in a woman who’s ready to give birth, the idea being the closer they get together, the closer you are to the birth. And as we see more signs-more things happening-they’re reminding us Christ is coming back again. Let’s go to Matthew 24.
What did Jesus say? “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars” (Matthew 24:6 NKJV). So this is war at a scale we have not seen in a long time. But let me look at another thing in Matthew 24. It talks about plagues being around us in the last days (Matthew 24:7). If the coronavirus is not a plague, I don’t know what it is. It’s a global plague.
Also, I would add that the Bible warns of a world leader that will come and dominate and deceive people but ultimately reveal his true colors. And he’s called the Antichrist. I believe a lot of this government overreach, imposing themselves on their people, is a sign of what is going to come later when Antichrist emerges on the scene.
Russia in Bible Prophecy
But let’s come to the situation in the Ukraine. Many Bible scholars believe in the Ezekiel 38, as it speaks of Magog attacking Israel, that that is modern day Russia. I could go and talk about that for, you know, 30 minutes, why they believe that’s true. I happen to agree with them, but it says in Ezekiel that the Jewish people will be scattered and regathered in their land again.
We know, during World War II and after the Holocaust, Jewish people from around the planet began to return to their land. And Israel officially became a nation on May 14, 1948. So that part of their prophecy has been fulfilled. But then scripture says a nation from the extreme north of Israel will march on her called Gog and Magog.
If you look on any map, you’ll see that is the geographical area of Russia. Ukraine used to be a part of the Russian Empire. They broke off in 1991. Are they going to be part of Russia again? Could be. But the one thing that I think of is that when I see the aggression of Russia or Magog, if you will, it’s a reminder that that’s what we’re going to see when Magog attacks Israel.
What Should We Do?
So Jesus said, “When you see these things begin to happen, freak out!”
No, he didn’t say that. He said, “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28 NKJV). Here’s the bottom line and takeaway truth: Bible prophecies are being fulfilled in our lifetime. It seems like we’re seeing more things happen in real time, closer together, as the Scripture said they would be.
What should we do? We should look up, and we should remember that God is in control. And we’ve read the last page of the Bible, the last page of Revelation, and we win in the end.
Let me also add this: Let’s all be praying for the people of the Ukraine. They’re going through a time of great suffering right now. Pray for them. Pray that God gives to our leaders wisdom as they’re making very important decisions in the days ahead.

And God allowed me a visitation Aaron had already gotten his new body. Aaron walked over to me and kissed me on my cheek and I could feel the kiss. This is a testimony I will continue to share God is good, God is real. I know I will see my wonderful son again in heaven.
Stephanie, my wife and I lost our little girl, she reminds me that we share a common experience together, as my daughter worships our Lord in heaven we too can worship Him here and now, something we can still all do together.
My wife had a similar experience of connection with our daughter in a dream. She felt that she had the opportunity to hug our little girl tell her how much she was still loved. She said that Ginnie (our daughter) said she knew that we loved her but the whole time Ginnie kept looking to get back to Jesus. It seems that we cannot comprehend how amazingly wonderful it is to be with Him. To be absent from this body means we are immediately with our Heavenly Father and Jesus.

The walk is not easy. I'm glad you realized that. I repented and try not to make excuses. These are the very things that gives us the permission to not trust God, who is always good in leading us in His righteous ways. He makes us stronger but, it is a very difficult to walk in His ways. I still have to deal with things but when I admitted I was wrong to make excuses for my behavor the love I felt of embrace was awesome. Keep on working on it. I like to recite psalms 25

Yep.... it's only a matter of time. My parents asked me if I knew of a fallout shelter in case we get bombed (they are worried about nuclear or biological war on American soil) I told them no but it wouldn't matter anyways. Jesus tells us to flee to the mountains and not to look back. He is the ONLY way any would survive that type of attack. Funny thing is, I'm not worried. I have a sense of peace that I know comes from God Almighty. I look forward to meeting you in Heaven if not on Earth! May God watch over you and yours!

Read chapter 20 book of revelation. It specifically says when gog and Magog will happen. And it’s definitely not now.
I have been listening for the sound of trumpets and the powerful voice of Jesus from time to time to call me home. I believe this sound and his voice will come from within us, because the Holy trinity lives inside of us.

I too was raised as a Catholic, then at age 25 I was saved by a Baptist Minister when he shared the gospel with me. I never knew that a personal relationship with Jesus was needed or even possible until the day I was born again! I later found my way to a Pentecostal Church where the Holy Spirit was freely working, ministering to people and was so clearly present during worship. I love a good worship service where the Holy Spirit is allowed to lead the worship portion of the service. May God bless those of you who read these comments!

The Truth Never Told is right. Greg says 28:00 that the antichrist comes after this event. Thats incorrect. Paul explicitly says in 2 Thessalonians 2 that the rebellion and the revealing of the man of lawlessness will come prior to this "coming of the Lord and our gathering together to meet Him."
@@DanielEBurnetteNo…2 Thessalonians deals with the Second Coming. This is a wholly separate event from The Rapture, which is a common misunderstanding in interpreting scripture. Rapture is when Jesus comes for his Believers, and the Second Coming is when Jesus returns to Earth with Believers to rule for 1000 years (Millennium in eschatology). Rapture occurs first, and the Second Coming will occur after the 7 year rule of the Antichrist.

And I believe I will meet my beloved mother at heaven's gate. My mother went back with the Lord in 2016, she walked with Jesus many years. Thank You Jesus that I believe in in Your Salvation Amen 🙏

The Lord put on my heart recently that an increasing number of demons now walk the earth. A lot of it has to do with the tv shows and movies we watch that exploit the paranormal. I believe that choosing to watch these shows is like an invitation to the demons to enter into your domain

@JudahBenLevi what He put on my heart was just a wake-up call that more and more demons are filling the earth. I am not saying He is ready to come but I just like to see the signs of the getting darker so I can keep my eyes on the prize. Even though you are not Chrisrian there is a video by David Wilkerson from 1974 where he describes the last days according to dream the Lord gave him. 46 years ago the world was a vastly different place. He prophesied realitis that are normal to us today but was unheard of in 1974.

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ who is merciful and slow to anger. I pray that even in my brokenness He uses me to bring another soul to salvation.
This brought tears to my eyes as my son died at 7 months old in 1987. God allowed me to see him in heaven and I know it's real and I will see him again.
A friend of mine saw her baby (who was miscarried) when she had a cardiac arrest. She's ok now but she was in between realms when she clearly saw her baby boy.
Only God can heal this type of pain

I don't want people to leave Jesus because they were shallow believing the pre-trib Rapture & easy escapism, which is what I've seen in Calvary Chapel people over the years they're not doing the Great Commission thinking that they're out of here any minute. so we need to bring these things up so that they don't end up in eternity in hell. Antichrist comes before Jesus just like labor pains come before the baby. "You're looking for Antichrist I'm looking for Jesus", & "I'm looking for the baby I don't believe there's going to be labor pains" 2nd Thessalonians 2: 1-3 cannot be argued with Antichrist will be revealed to the faithful Church before our gathering to Jesus.

WHEN IS THE RAPTURE / RESURRECTION?
In Revelation 20:4-6 the last book of the Bible there are only 2 more FUTURE Resurrections (Raptures) spoken of: (after the 2 witnesses appear)
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the FIRST RESURRECTION. or rapture
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the FIRST RESURRECTION: on such the SECOND DEATH hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
In the above scriptures, these are the Martyrs. John said "this is the first resurrection." John didn't say this is the "second phase of the first resurrection," as pre-tribbers claim.
If this is the FIRST resurrection, can there be a resurrection before this one? Of course not, unless you want to ADD to the bible which is forbidden!
The First Resurrection is of the dead in Christ and the Second is after 1000 years. Paul wrote that the Dead in Christ MUST rise FIRST, THEN we who are alive and remain will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
16 ...and the dead in Christ shall RISE FIRST
17 THEN we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them...
In Rev. 20:4-5, John sees the souls of Saints who were BEHEADED for refusing the Mark of the Antichrist during the Great Tribulation. John writes that they will rise and reign with Christ for 1000 years and that this is the FIRST RESURRECTION!
If according to John, the beheaded rise in the FIRST resurrection and Paul said those who are alive and remain are not caught up until AFTER the dead in Christ are resurrected, then this means the catching up or rapture takes place AFTER tribulation!
Now compare the above with 1 CORINTHIANS 15:20-23:
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first-fruits of those who slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the first-fruits; AFTERWARDS THOSE WHO ARE CHRIST'S AT HIS COMING.
Notice only one resurrection of the dead in Christ is mentioned here! Which, according to Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 must take place BEFORE we who are alive and remain are "caught up" with them!
When did Jesus say the dead in Christ would be resurrected?

Is the LAST DAY the thousand year reign of Christ?
I believe so....then it is eternity and time is counted no more
So if Jesus himself said the dead in Christ will be raised on the LAST DAY, and Paul said we who are alive and remain will not be caught up (raptured) until AFTER the dead are raised, then where does secret pre-trib rapture fit in?
Paul in 1 Cor 15:52 - In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
We are changed at the LAST TRUMP and where is this found?
In REVELATION, the LAST BOOK of the Bible there are 7 trumps and the 7th trump is the LAST ONE and is at the end of the tribulation
Listening to Pastor Greg talk about millions of believers going missing at once got me thinking...how would the enemy convince people the rapture never happened and that Christ was never real and never coming to save, lest they repent? Perhaps during a worldwide pandemic, like Coronavirus, where most people are quarantined or in lock down. All they'll hear in the news is 10000 people dead, 100 000 dead etc, but no one at home could verify the numbers. Thousands and millions could vanish during this time - presumed dead - and antichrist could appear on scene at this time as well, offering salvation to all. The enemy doesn't know the exact timing of the rapture, but could play it safe by keeping everyone indoors for as long as possible, oblivious to what's really happening.

@Melanin Warrior I believe what you're saying about false teachers but this man is not a false teacher I think you're being a little too critical of him just like I know a lot of people criticize Perry Stone when he brings up the word rapture cuz it's not in the Bible and people love to point that out to him.I see a lot of people doing that with good people that I respect hell if you listen to all the people that criticize these good pastors nobody would come to Christ and they will look at us like a bunch of fools,you Christians don't know what the heck y'all believe y'all criticize each other so much, yes I believe you should take this very serious and see if they have the spirit of Christ living in them. Chris C this man is telling the truth. I think he is more of an authority on the Bible and the truth of it than you are. There are many people who really do care about the truth and see the Bible the way he does. I get your point about Sodom and Gomorrah. God is not petty and homosexuality is not the unforgivable sin. At Sodom and Gomorrah, at Lot’s house, the good citizens attempted to gang rape two strangers who were guests in Lot’s house. When Lot refused to hand over his guests, the good citizens of Sodom threatened to do worse to him. That is extreme violence and evidently it was not the first time that kind of thing had occurred. The men in Lot’s house were really angels, and they had come to warn Lot to get out of the town before it was destroyed. They supernaturally blinded the men outside so that they couldn’t find the door anymore. The ruins of those cities are heaps of ash around the Dead Sea. In amongst the ash are balls of sulphur. Ron Wyatt discovered the ruins of the cities of the plain were hidden in plain sight. You can find him on TH-cam talking about it and demonstrating the incendiary qualities of the sulphur.

You are correct. The Holy Spirit was promised by Christ in John 14:26. John the Baptist revealed it in Luke 3:16. It is the One Baptism found in Ephesians 4:3-5. Paul speaks of it in Romans 8:9, and 1 Corinthians 3:16, and Ephesians 1:13. It is a part of the New Covenant promise found in Hebrews 8:11. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher found within New Covenant believers. Jesus told Nicodemus a person cannot inherit the kingdom of God without being "born-again" of the Spirit of God.

Here’s the thing, we have NOT seen all these things before, all together, in culmination. Even the stars in the sky are pointing to the imminence of Christ’s return.
