- Dark morning start again today. There were many pilgrims on the path today. The mood was excitable with a lot of newbies joining us, it lifted my mood and made me excited about completing the path. I walked past 100km marker, walked past a bagpiper. Portomarin is a beautiful town, we had a lovely evening with the Camino Family eating in a steak house and drinking local wine #caminodesantiago #caminofrances #hikingadventures #camino #throughhike #spain

Why did you leave so early?
That is a very good question . To avoid walking with lots of people. To avoid walking in very hot weather. But mostly because everyone did. In reflection, I would probably start later and in daylight if I was going again. It did mean we had more time to explore the town at the end of the walk and more time for beverages
We went last summer and I’m glad we walk in daylight cause I wanted to see everything lol, yeah it was hot so definitely trade offs . Going again in June #2 here we come
@@marthajoyrichardson7727 hope to go in September again. Definitely start later. Of cause the mornings were darker by September. I was starting at 730 to 800am so not that early.
