Great video. I have always been oppressed by the opinion of some people that Zeon are space Nazis and nothing more. Although the history of Zeon is the history of the struggle for independence from the arbitrariness of the corrupt cattle. The name Zeonets was proudly worn not only by the inhabitants of side-3, but also by any person who supported the idea of freedom, and there were many of them. But the irony of Zeon is that, despite the purity of their ideas, they paid for it with huge blood. Zeon's machine has ground too many fates and innocents. A beautiful dream was stained with blood. The main question of the entire UC branch, did Zeon and all spacenoids have a different path? It's a tough question, but the show made one thing clear. War is the worst evil that can happen in the world. Ruthlessly grinds millions of destinies. It's also ironic that all the Gundam pilots down to the Unicorn fought and bled for a side that had established a military dictate in the earth realm and was horribly corrupt. P.S. I call the Zeon's a Representation of "Revolutionary Action" they're meant to represent the Revolutionary Forces in history, not just Nazis, but Marxist as well. Zeon Zum Deikun for example is basically the Gundam Universe version of Marx. The idea of the Newtype theory actually comes from the New Soviet Man theory. Nazis are basically a Racial Spin on Marxism replacing the Class Theory of History with a Racial Theory of History. As a result it had a big impact on their society though as the Socialization of the Means of Production actually changes considerably when it's no longer built on "Social Classes." It's actually why Hitler was quoted in saying "Marxism is anti property, REAL Socialism is not." Since Marxism is built around the Working Class, and owning private property is the antithesis to the Working Class because to be a Worker requires you to work for someone else who owns that property, if you're a Worker's Collective no one can own property as those who do will no longer be of the Working Class. But if you build your Socialism around the Racial Group, or Racial Community, that no longer actually applies, all that matters is the Means of Production is held by those within the Racial Community. Basically 80+ years later and Marxonian Socialist still fail to understand why the Nazis viewed themselves as Socialist. It's quite obvious once you realize what they mean by it. I mean there is a reason Tomino had the Zeon's with Red/Yellow Flags in his productions. Wasn't until Gundam 0080 did the Zeons get an extra layer of Nazi Veneer. Far more than just Sieg Zeon and Gihren. Yellow Symbols on a Red Banner is Marxism. Zeon Flags are most often that including Char's Rebellion.
