Forgot to mention that I’m also using a program called “Quickres” to allow me to set the resolution to 640x480 and allows resolutions all the way down to 320x240.
CRT EmuDriver is your friend. The ArcadeVGA cannot do all that CRT EmuDriver can do and it works in Windows 10 and 11. I have a PC with CRT EmuDriver in a War Gods cabinet right now and it works beautifully hand in hand with my K7000 via J-PAC. On a side note, this method also will give you Mortal Kombat Trilogy (PC) in 240p. Looks amazing.
These would be some of the best things I've ever seen in my life! Pure dream machines... I remember being so amazed when I saw them for the first time during my childhood, and from then on I always carry those games with me. I grew up with those characters, scenarios and fantastic worlds, and I am what I am today thanks to them, Thank you very much! ❤
HBMAME no longer updates to feature parity with MAME, only added games. I have a custom MAME with support for the plus games that I keep updated a few times a year if anyone is interested. MK+ and MK2+ will work on any version of MAME that plays MK and MK2. You only need a custom MAME for UMK3+ and its extra roms. The games are also supported in the FBNEO emulator, and the FBNEO and mame2003plus retroarch cores. i do not know how any of this would translate to windows XP though lol
Still running my ArcadeVGA in my MAME cab on Win95. Just got the Ultimarc video amplifier board delivered and want to get it installed to increase the voltage myself. The K7400 monitor has always looked on the dim side. Hopefully this will increase the output and get the monitor looking better.
Awesome. I did this years ago before I had the actual PCB’s. What I miss is playing some of the MUGEN games through this setup as well. Also, through your pc bios, you could setup your pc to auto power on vs the coin return button trick. Good stuff.
I like my Mame machine with fighting games, beat 'em ups, shmups, and puzzle games. I feel like that covers majority of my favorite arcade games. I like the tag feature in MK2 plus.
The last revision of the Arcade VGA did have drivers for up to Windows 10. I’m still running mine in my MAME cabinet running Windows 10. Unfortunately Ultimarc discontinued the card several years ago. Awesome video as always! Looking forward to more!
Love the details and the explanation of the Hardware and inputs, truly dedicated to the Mortal Kombat industry and I love it, I'm currently making a Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 strategy guide for ALL characters
Cool to see you talking about the video amplifier board. I just finally got one in from Ultimarc and hope to install it in my MAME cabinet to get the K7400 video output looking better. I thought I read that many of the Wells Gardner monitors could take down to 1 volt, but my K7400 has never looked as bright and vibrant as I would expect.
When i did mine, i used hyperspin. I also modded windows a tiny bit to remove all windows boot logos so that all boot screens were black and didnt play the windows sounds (or you could change them if you like). Then i changed some windows files so that it bypasses the desktop login and goes straight to my front end. You can load up all those roms and pc games into that 1 front end so youre not opening your panel over and over. When 1up came out, i modded mine with the same method, but then switched to a raspberry pi using a mod of Retro pie. And thats my go to setup now.
Great video, can’t wait to see more MK stuff or games in general. On another note, could you help me out on where to buy the buttons and joysticks? Need some for my machine and I’ve been reading that happ no longer has the same quality.
Just checked, the arcade is still banging. I only ask as I'm not From the USA, I'm from uuuukkkkingdommmm. As a fan overseas, us lot, support you, we want to see your continued successes. If you don't, that's cool... but, why wouldn't you? Mkplus, you get?
@@YourMKArcadeSource This is such a bummer, I remember you saying this in a prior video about the status of MK+. I have been looking forward to that release for a long time, and feel like my MK cabinet collection will never be complete without that one.
I was a huge fan of your MK Trilogy cabinet. That was really cool. Will you add that game to this MK3 emulation cab? I would add home versions of MK as well. Like SNES and Genesis versions. (Genesis was better, ran smoother in my opinion)
I'd be surprised if the PC BIOS doesn't have an 'on power resume' option so it turns on automatically whenever you turn the rest of the cabinet on (similar to cabinets like Buck Hunter or Hydro Thunder.)
I’m sure it does, but I’d still need the switch to shut it down properly without opening the control panel and doing it through windows. Just pressing a button is easier.
You should ask Drew or Paul to edit your mamefx135 to add the plus games to the list and then you can have everything running through maximus arcade. They know how to do that.
I talked with Paul already about it. It seemed like too much trouble. It’s not just adding them to the list XML file, it’s also about modifying Mame to recognize the extra roms and alter how it reads them. This way works fine.
If you put a music cd into your cd rom drive, it will play music in the background. I made an entire cd of the original music used for every level, in the order it would be played. Same thing for MKT on PC. You are MISSING that in your collection. That's the BEST port of MKT available, period! And with that one, you also have to make an audio cd (unless you own the original disc, then just pop that one into the drive. I think MK4 PC has a disc too with the music on it And that really sucks that you can't share the MK1+ download 💔😭💔😭💔😭💔😭💔🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😇😇😇
Awesome stuff. I have a compiled version of GroovyMAME that has all the MKP support compiled into it. It has only been tested on Windows 7 to 10. Let me know if you are interested.
The GroovyMAME version I have has only been tested on Windows 7-10, so I am not sure about Winxp. Another option is using GroovyArcade, a simple OS that includes GroovyMAME and supports the ArcadeVGA card. Note GroovyMAME has switchres built into it.
Forgot to mention that I’m also using a program called “Quickres” to allow me to set the resolution to 640x480 and allows resolutions all the way down to 320x240.
Awesome...you are an inspiration. I'm currently installing MK1 pcb, MK2+ chipped pcb, and a pandoras box into an UMK3 cabinet.
Love the mix of preserved arcade hardware and emulation! Keep em coming mate!

@@YourMKArcadeSource Can confirm for MK Trilogy, it looks super nice !
I love that coin reject power button trick! I may use that myself when rebuilding my MAME.

Arcade VGA card...? Now that's a term I haven't heard in years.
I’ve had it for 20 years.
I’m still rocking an arcade vga card

Beautiful I Remember Seeing This Brand New at My Local Arcade Slash Pizza Parlor Back in 1995
UMK3+ !! 🔥
Congrats that s so cool stuff 😊
Excellent video and content on this channel, from one day-one arcade MK Die-Hard to another!
This cabinet and setup is awesome!!!!!

Love the coin switch computer power!

A butcher for doing this is more accurate. Nice pinballs though.
Cant wait to see more MK stuff. Love you vids
What is the little pcb in line with the VGA from the PC and the arcade monitor called, and where do you get it? Thanks

gorgeous cabinet, looking for one in the west

How interesting. I had to use groovymame to get my classic PC to work on my PVM.
Does somebody knows Kung Lao fatalities in rev 1.0 ?? If you set the one button fatalities, kung lao have 2
Have you tried Mk3 on a raspberry pi using RetroPie? Not having to deal with the whole old PC/Windows would be ideal!
how did you get mk+ 5.0? Did it release somewhere?
The creator sent it to me for testing before the project got scrapped/put on hold.
@@YourMKArcadeSource Do you think it will get released anytime soon? If not, having it get leaked would be awesome.
The creator got a cease and desist from Warner Bros, so I doubt it. It’s also not komplete.

He is. You gotta do it in the settings. Didn’t do it yet.
Where did tattoo assassins go?
Sold it to the Electric Starship Arcade in Dallas.

You could throw MK2 Rev 3.2 European and Yawdim set 2 in there as well.

480i or 480p? 240p supported?
