- "Thom Cat" cartoon pilot for the Random! Cartoons Television Series on Nickelodeon. I created, wrote, co-produced, did the character designs as well as the original pitch storyboards, oversaw the selection of the voice actors (and assisted during the voice direction). Produced for Nickelodeon working with the great Frederator Studios.

It's a shame this never got off the ground. It seems like an awesome show. Good premise, diverse characters, room for hi-jinx, it could have been big. Much better than a lot of the shows on now. Kids need stories, not just abstract craziness.

I remember in 2013, at the Charles M. Scultz museum, I met Mike Gray, and he drew me this gentlemanly cat. I still have it on my wall to this day.

One day I will make my own cartoon channel, where many people can get their cartoons exposure. Stuff like this and random cartoons keep motivating me to find a way, thank you so much

Random Cartoons was never as great of a show as Oh Yeah! Cartoons, but it definitely had some great shorts here and there that showed the show could produce some good content. Thom Cat and Adventure Time were definitely examples of how good the show could be at times, shame that Nickelodeon never gave this show the support it deserved.

I honestly feel like Rusty would've become a reoccurring character and at some point, someone who also takes part in Thom and Melissa's adventures. Its sad knowing this show never got green-lit... I really like it!

Finally! I've been looking for this short all over TH-cam! I loved this pilot ever since I saw it on Nick. I'm kinna upset that Nick never picked this up. With the cartoons nowadays, Thom absolutely stands out. A well-mannered, well-dressed, eloquent, intellectual who doesn't lose his cool and doesn't resort to violence? Rather rare! Pretty good role model too. I really wished they picked it up. Have you ever thought of pitching this to CN or Disney?
I did pitch it to DIsney and CN back then but they passed, maybe I will revive him :)

Same experience here, tho I was in seventh grade. My dad even bought me a pair of loafers because of this cartoon, and my English teacher complimented them.

Thom has an almost Ricky Gervas voice, makes sense since Thom's actor is a famous impersonator.
Jim Meskimen is a genius :) I had originally though of a Davey Jones voice from the Monkees, Ricky Gervas was so much better
