Just update my thanks. I used this service last saturday to windsor. Super convenient & the trains were empty compared to the other line. We used paper tickets instead of qr code to keep as souvenir. Thanks again!

There is no tap your card as Windsor is outside the TFL zone so you need to buy a ticket

Go from Waterloo Station to Windsor Riverside Station. The other route is Paddington to Slough and then change there for Windsor & Eton Central. The Waterloo to Windsor Riverside is a direct train and is a South Western Railways train

How often do the trains run from that station to windsor ? And wait you can buy your ticket the same day ?

Trains run every 30 minutes and you can buy your tickets on the same day
