I’ve been living in downtown San Francisco for 20 years and Tenderloin is a great temperature read on how this city is doing and it’s NOT improving, not by a long shot.

Considering the mayor of Worcester, MA (population ~205,319) makes $313K/yr & it's not really on par w/ SF tells you it's not that outrageous. Quincy, MA (1/2 that size) may increase its mayor's salary to $370K/yr! Like QB's the salaries continue to go up.
I live in the tenderloin and see improvements... I still won't leave the house without my pepper spray but I rarely think of taking it out of my bag anymore 🤷♂️
One of the indications of our failed city government is how budgets have not allowed for
english-as-a-second-language classes via city college. How is a sanctuary city supposed to operate without giving people opportunities to learn english? There are very skilled people who enter our city every day; lets give them the tools to rise.

I can see from all of this that nobody on this stage is taking it seriously. The office of Mayor is an important to the city and the Board of Supervisors is another joke. Look at the crime rate and the drugs that is going on. Back in the 1970’s is was cleaner you didn’t see the crime going on jobs was plentiful no homeless on the streets nothing now we need to change this and the city government of our city needs to change as well. Businesses are leaving and crime is up and drugs are running wild. Let’s change this at the booth.

Mayor Breed - The crimes is lower? We are afraid to go out of our home. We are scared staying in our own home, always on alert if and when our home will be robbed just like our neighbors houses every single day. Which cave were you sleeping in? Street crisis team don’t do anything at all I’ve called them on my graveyard shift and they don’t do anything for the homeless or they take so long the people or person they was supposed too help is long gone

I didn't catch the name of the nice woman who is acting as MC for this event, but her Venezuelan accent makes her English so difficult to understand I can't imagine why they choose her for that task? The STOP Crime SF group is a big success story. Thank you all!

I never heard about Amber Lee's background before - great to hear she is home grown. Great career at KTVU FOX.
Mayor Breed has had her turn. She got on the job training and blew it. She's proud of what she's accomplished, because her standards are so low. Supervisor Safai sounds OK, but not compelling. Mr. Lurie has accomplishments to brag about. I think he's great behind the scenes, but not a strong public speaker. He'd be OK. Mr. Farrell has experience, ideas, and focus - I think he would be best of them. I'm very curious why Supervisor Peskin didn't want to be there?
I was most disappointed to hear them all say NO to protecting the rights of a Homeowner to evict roomers from their home. That s such a basic right that Rent Control Boards have taken away. No discussion on that topic! Then when speaking about a downtown University - not one of them mentioned Golden Gate University which is already there on Mission ST. in the financial district, nor USF. No one asked why?
Weak format, Qs were almost all way too long. Candidates should be required to provide a score card of their positions on hot topics.

The mayor talks a good game, but SF DOWNTOWN IS DESTROYED with properties value is down 90% due to 45,000 smash and grabs in 2 years on her watch with a revolving door CATCH AND RELEASE NO JUSTICE system, , while she defunded the police 120 million. The current DA crime fighter is doing a good job but convictions are still way to low. Even Macys union sq just left, STOP CRIME AND GET TOUGH CONVICTIONS IS #1 PRIORITY. Also 258 homeless non profits keep 75% of the 700 million dollars for themselves with no real results and then they sue the city back to boot, STOP using the non profits.. The homeless were invited in to SF from all over the world with $822 a month by GN with one phone call and the money was used for drugs. along with a 1.7 million dollar bathroom. Also with GN prop 47 and 57 that raised felony rate to $950 and he emptied all the prisons. With many areas of the city EMPTY, THE MAYOR SHOULD REDUCE the city staff 25 % so you dont have to raise property taxes again with bond measures. Also open all the streets back in the city like Golden Gate Ave now closed was once a 3 lane main artery from Van Ness to 280 and its now closed and its a druggie loitering zone mess and FIRE FIGHTERS CANT GET THROUGH . Getting across SF is a nightmare now, so many streets are closed and is not business friendly.. Get homeless off the streets CLEAN AND SAFE SF IS WHAT WE WANT the smash and grabs are still going on. Get Pelosi to finish cleaning up HP shipyard 560 empty acres with 40 empty bldgs and send homeless there.

What a disappointing and quite disgusting display of partiality by the sponsors, speakers and audience at such an important event in such a critical race, and in particular the opening presentations of awards, which have absolutely no place connected to a political candidate debate. No wonder Peskin wouldn't attend -- good for him. I wish the other candidates had as much integrity, as well as the guts, not to support or encourage this kind of prejudiced, train wreck of a debate. It was almost unwatchable but I struggled through it because I wanted to see which candidate pandered hardest to this right-wing-oriented crowd -- or which candidate had best packed the audience? -- so that I could be sure to leave that person off of my ballot in November. (No wonder it was aired by a Fox affiliate -- now the involvement of a television station in this kind of openly partial event makes more sense.)
