    And Hollywood says don't work with kids, pshaw, the kid actor completely sells his monologue and embodies his character, not to forget the character relationship they've built as a demented uncle and vulnerable nephew, hauntingly beautiful, deserved awards

    • @boxeom13
      @boxeom13 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well, Hollywood would never say "don't work with kids"- most people say that, since child stars are technically doing extremely life-changing work at a time they can't fully understand how it will later effect them. That, and Hollywood is infamous for protecting and hiding away so many disgusting people that take advantage of genuinely talented, innocent children. Of course, I totally agree with you that a movie/show can be so much more effective in a story/scene like this one (I always reference this actor as one of the most powerful child actors I've ever seen) and there are so many talented children that deserve great reward and attention for their efforts and talents. It's just such an odd, complicated line for any child to walk. I wish that children could be their safest while pursuing something that I hope was their dream and not some cash grab forced on them by their guardians- and I wish there were improvements made for child actors' safety against some really horrible people in the industry. Sorry this got a little preachy- it's just a topic I've always felt extremely passionate about.

      I heard the real life Gordon molested that Stanford kid and beat him and so when he got older Gordon wasn’t interested in Stanford and wanted younger kids. So he captured kids and used Stanford to help him and if Stanford would leave he would kill him to. So basically that Stanford kid was so scared of Gordon and did everything he wanted him to do including killing kids. Gordon did use a axe 🪓 to murder the kids with he would butcher them. He also molested them as well. One day Gordon’s parents showed up at his ranch house and Gordon was in a different part of the house at the time and Stanford answered the door and wanted this nightmare to stop so he told the parents he thinks Gordon is in the chicken coop and so the mom went out there and saw the kids chained up. She came in the house and was yelling at Gordon for what he did and Gordon said it would be the last time he would ever do anything like that again. The mom loved Gordon so much that she wanted to get rid of the kid so Gordon wouldn’t go to prison. So Gordon and the mom went to the chicken coop and killed the kid together and made Stanford to help in it and they all had to promise not to ever say anything about. They then buried the kids in a shallow grave on the ranch. That’s the true story so sad and sick that the mother would help her son kill.

    When i was watching the movie, by this point, i was still wondering what happened to the real Walter Collins. About the real story, i knew the matter was called Wineville Chicken Coop Murders, but didn't knew that much. I had seen the part where Ybarra talks with that dude Northcott, and that the latter was the owner of a ranch. When i was watching this scene, i decided to investigate in Wikipedia about it, and i saw that the name Gordon Stewart Northcott (that dude Ybarra spoke to and the owner of that ranch) was written in blue letters, which meant that there was an article about him in the page. So i went there, and i was shocked to know that Northcott was a serial killer of children that died on the gallows. And when Sanford identified Walter in one of the pictures, i realized the sad truth: poor Walter was kidnapped and murdered by that Northcott guy.

    How ridiculously stupid those times were when parents didn’t care where their kids went and trusted them to come back home. The parents are partly to blame and should’ve been faced with child neglect charges while Gordon Northcott was facing his own charges. I have little cousins that live in Mira Loma (the town where these killings occurred which was originally called Wineville back then) and I shudder at the thought of this happening to them. I couldn’t imagine. I’m grateful that we live in a time where parents are more careful. Gordon Northcott deserved to have a lot of torturous things done back to him, but obviously the system doesn’t work that way so the closest thing to torture would be life in prison. That should’ve been his sentence instead of death in my opinion.

    Can somebody explain to me why Sanford attacked the detective when he went to the ranch?
    Was he scared of retaliation by northcott if he surrendered?

    Haven't seen this movie for years and I still had to skip some of this scene.
    Really dark stuff.
    Any young parents out there now, stop staring at your f**king phone, take the earbuds out and keep an eye on your kids at all times when you leave the house.

    I hope Sanford was accepted into Heaven after trying to cleanse himself of all the sins he had to do to keep himself alive from his "Uncle"
